R1 underpowered? LOL. Makes 200hp. The Ducati makes 205 (claimed, dynos show less), the BMW makes 199hp, and the H2 only makes 200hp, but weighs 100 lbs more. So this power these guys claim to feel is all in their heads, because the H2 is not more powerful. It may have more mid range pull, but upper end drops off fast. You'd find the S1000RR and R1 can easily keep pace with the H2 in a straight line, if not outright beating it. So no, the R1 is not even slightly underpowered.

EastCoastOctane i guess its not that the s1k is no good i guess the change wasnt very significant not like the r1 h2 or even the duc getting an engine bump the s1k is much lesss the same with a tweak here and there great bike but the rival have caught up

It's been like that since 95-96 (I think.) whenever everyone else hopped on the ram air system. Before that, it was Kawasaki all the way. Their 750cc competing with Honda and ducatis 1000cc bikes. And completely dominating. Without a doubt back then it was all about Kawasaki but when Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, and everyone else started catching on it became a lot closer which I feel drove the motorcycle industry forward and advanced it with some competition. But honestly ever since the beginning of time it's been about the rider not the bike.

Joey Mantka I'm saying it's so evenly matched that it doesn't matter what bike you ride. I didn't say u don't need a bike. I'm saying it doesn't matter which one u get. The only thing that matters is how comfortable u feel on the bike.

Thing is that these modern superbikes are way beyond the average riders' abilities, and just plain suicidal for people with more money than brains. I lost 5 pts on my Triumph 675 STR last summer just rolling on the throttle in top gear passing a line of cars. I have read posts on forums where lots of guys have traded down to middleweights from these 1000 cc track bikes as they are not that enjoyable on the street because you can't use their full capabilities without killing yourself or talking to a judge in court.

Elliot Jackson you just answered your own question lol They used the S and the R1 instead of the R and the R1M I recon the BMW is the best all rounder now Heated grips, cruise control, HP4 electronic suspension (close enough), quick shifter up and down and it actually works this time around, no need for weighted bar ends to get rid of that nasty vibration the only thing is the price Oh and a 2015 s1000rr with pipe and tune can beat a stock H2 in a straight line and rape it on the track haha Exhaust and reflash the H2 however... lol

Elliot Jackson have a look at a guys channel on here called 650ib He has a pana, hp4, r1m and a h2 None of them are stock either haha All have exhausts and tunes at a minimum When he first got the H2 he highway ran his mate with a 2015 s1000rr and got walked 😂

thetassieboys Nevertheless I'd buy the ZX-10R, just overall a good bike. The H2 would just tear my hands off and is also quite heavy. It's treated like shit, even though it's not the fastest is has immense power and is only out for 1 year, so you can't expect it to be something world breaking. His superior twin the H2R is close to that title, though.

Sean Tolbert its not true BMW is fast on stright Li e and the Power i owned a s1000RR 6 Months a couple of times on Track sorry but the BMW on Track is not eaven close to a rsv4 RF or a Yamaha r1 the Panigsle R need a Driver with good skils because the Panigale R is more extreme Race focused Bike and its not that you jump on and bee fast immediatelly.But a Professional Rider can pull everything out of this Bike.But again i owned a 2012 S1000RR its easy to ride eaven on Track but not impressed me like a R1 or a rsv4.After Bearing Shell issuise on the Motor on the BMW i sell the Bike after the Bine was fixed🙁

I did exactly the same and I smile from ear to ear every ride 😊. It's just special, end of. It's an absolute pig to ride in traffic but I can forgive that because it just sounds awsome, turns heads and given a clear road with some twistes, makes you feel like Marc Marquez, and yet I'm far from that 😂

H2R is not street legal + the H2 has a supercharger which help with the straight line speed, and at the same time sucks to do a track day

Besides r1 and ninja weren't so light either,cbr was producing the less hp so it was normal to weight like a 600. 2015 gsxr models are fast,light, comfort and much easier to ride/handle and have nothing to envy from more expensive bikes. Do you really think a company like suzuki is behind? Suzuki is Japan. And will always be there. Anti rectum control anti wheelie anti lock anti this anti that isnt really a true riding experience. Suzuki always kept it simple, lighting fast and fun.

No they arent. Opinions are different though😁 Its their fairings philosophy to look 'fat' its like their signature. I personally like how a k8 1000 looks she's the epitome of 'old' bad ass suzuki . And the 2015 motogp blue replica looks proper.
