I got myself one, and it's one beautiful bike! Black, Cobra slip on exhaust, crash bars, mustang seat, high windshield, passenger floor boards, double front bar lights and it's great! Ride on Brother! Japan made and she'll last til the sun never sets Man
I bought this as my first bike last year and love it so far. Added a Vance & Hines slip on for a little more growl...this year I'll be swapping out the Windshield for a taller, smoked, quick release and adding some highway pegs to the Floorboards to keep it clean
Love my 2011 Star 950T. I especially love some of the aftermarket stuff I put on including the engine guard, Vance & Hines twin slash 2 into 1 slip-on muffler and OEM passing lamps. I can tell yours is a California model because of the evap canister mounted on the frame above the left floorboard.
I have a 2009 Yamaha V-Star 950 with low mileage, they are a good bike, easy to handle and balance and move around, fuel injection is excellent, do not change the original exhaust on it or it will not run right. It shifts good, got plenty of power in the higher gears and will keep up with traffic , top speed is not going to go over 100 mph , straining at 95 mph, a fact, but it got plenty of power and will keep up with traffic, good shocks, best brakes I have had on a bike this size. Plenty of room and comfortable. Of course you can change anything on it, I have ultimate seats on it and drivers backrest . Bought it used, some dummy put 2 1/4 straight drag pipes on it with no baffles, mess it all up because it is full injection dumb people, I had to put original pipe back on it with baffles in it, and it is quite but still the radio is about worthless on those bikes , any of them. It has batman flaring and the whole works on it, fiberglass saddlebags that lock, so someone put some money into it. Why any idiot would put large straight drag pipes on a 950, I have no idea, don't do it on this bike, way too loud !!!!
I'm thinking of trading in my 2009 Honda Shadow Aero for this 2015 Yamaha V- Star .I have seen from a motorcycle dealership going for $6500 . Should I or should I not?
TX Camper I want to say yes, but a 950 is no joke. it has quite some torque! all in all though, it won't do anything unpredictable and is easy to manage if you have a responsible hand
Yes, anyone can ride this bike once you get use to it, you can rid a great big bike if it is made right and is balance right , as soon as you get on a bike you can tell, that Yamaha 950 completely different from my old 1983 Honda cb 1000 custom, that bike feel heavy but balances good and runs good, hard to beat that bike . You could get a bigger Yamaha V-Star and have no problem at all if you have ridden bikes before.
