2016 Audi S6 vs S7 Mega Mashup Review: Clash of the S Titans 

It’s the end of 2022 and I just bought a blue S6, 2017 three days ago. Honestly can’t pull into the gas station without looks. I was in the market for an 18 S4 and I saw the S6 I bought just pop up in a google feed when searching s4’s. I called the dealership on a wed, drove 2 hrs to their dealership after work on Thurs to “look at it”. Drove two hrs back home that night at 11pm in it and left my 16 A3 w/ them as a trade in. I had over 3 grand upside down on my A3 value (high miles) but after seeing and driving this car I didn’t care about rolling that three grand into the price of this car. Still feels unreal. I’m not a tuning freak either. Just love Audis. 45O hp is way more than anything I’ve ever had. I’m still sayin “OMg when I put it in auto manual” lol. Still feels like I’m dreamin.

Recently picked up an S6... So in love with it, makes me smile every time! Never second guess my purchase, one of the most well balanced sedans in the world, riding the fine line between luxury and sport.

I've owned a bunch of fast cars in my life even a GTR R35, and I've been okey with them. But since I bought my S6 I've lost 9 out of 12 points on my licenses. Suck thing is in Australia 12 points are for four years, not for one year. This shit moving at 230 km/h in corners and under control with only one of my finger. On wet surface, turn the traction control to sports, and it drifts. At red light it launch at 5000 RPM, and you can do that all day long. It parks itself, it has TV LOL

The 6 is a good looking car. The 7 is one of the best looking autos on the planet! If I had a choice, there would be no choice...THE 7!!!

I'm partial to the S6 since I have one, but most note that it feels sportier and responds better. It's not rocket science, the S6 weighs 110 pounds less. I'm surprised this wasn't mentioned in the video. The S6 also seats one more person. That said, the S7 has the versatile hatchback, but the S6 has a significantly large trunk as well. I'll take the $15K in my pocket, the faster acceleration, the lighter weight and the ability to take a 5th passenger in a pinch over the hatch versatility.

Honestly, some of the best looking cars I have ever, ever seen! They look sporty and aggressive, yet luxurious and calm at the same time! Just stunning!

A couple of points of difference: The S6 is 56.8" H and 194.4" L The S7 is 55" H and 196.3" L This may play out more in looks than driving, but it helps make the 7 a glamorous looking car. Also The S6 weighs 4486 pounds The S7 weighs 4564

Here is my opinion. You don't buy either the S6 or S7. Instead, you sell your belongings, move to Europe, buy yourself a new Audi RS6 and live in it. You get the S6 experience with the space of the S7. And a badass sleeper wagon..

Those cars are cheap in America! Here in the Netherlands the S6 starts at 117,000 euros(130,000$)! the S7 is even crazier. It starts here at 130,000 euros (144,000$) Great mashup, keep making great videos like this one :)

All of the recent generation S cars are reigned in to give decent separation between the S's and the RS's. With all of the forced induction these days on all of the "badged" or performance model cars (Audi's S's, RS's, BMW's M's etc) the performance gap is much more easily & more affordably closed in the aftermarket. Recently they have just been remapping the same platform on the new model to unleash a few more horses, something you can do on your own and save major dollars. In the future the RS's are going to need carbon fiber body panels to make it worth the jump. Today you can do a grill and a tune in your driveway on Sunday and attain 99% of what you would've gotten with an RS.

I tried both. Went with the S7. No regrets.

I think the S6 feeling more raw and natural is due to it being a sedan instead of a hatchback. Don't know the specs of the two cars, but one thing I do know in general is that a sedan has a more rigid structure, which should be felt as a more positive thing when it comes to handling. I'd pick the S6 even without the reason mentioned above. It just looks more classy, it's the better looking car.

The S7 doesn't have less chrome, that's just the Black Optic Package.

Roman said that both of them has sport exhaust system. Sport exhaust as optionional is know for the black tail pipes... Just the S7 has the black tail pipes.

The S6 is a Prestige Plus (thus the round xenon headlights). The S6 headlights would look similiar to the S7 if the S6 in the review were the Prestige edition. Also the S7 has the Black optic package which is the reason for the black grill, no chrome caps on rearview mirrors (which is normally an S package feature), and black around side windows. Either car can be purchased in standard chrome or the black optic.

Been on Audi driving experience training recently? they would tell you to hold the steering wheel different...

How is the sound insulation, engine noise, and road noise for the S6? Thinking to get the 2017 S6 or 2018 S5 Sportsback which looks really great and interior has been redesigned.

I know this is an old video, but the reason the S6 feels more "alive" then the S7 is the S7 is longer, wider and heavier.

The both cars are not so similar if you drive them for longer, the hatchback is more on the executive level, and has a nice party trick with the pop-up spoiler at the rear.the hatchback, is very popular with the ladies in the boardrooms of Europe, I would assume this might be the case also in the US. Also, if you were to go skiing or camping the S7 would be more practical too. Both cars are fabulous, I drove them both and enjoyed them immensely .

You need to compare them to other car a bit more. for example does it feel faster then the x6m that you test drove.. Just to something that its close to it in horsepower that you have driven just so we can get the feel for what it compares to and out fast they really are..

S7 with sport diff and ecu tune = better value than RS7+ it has a dual clutch gearbox which the rs7 doesn't.Also reviewer the verdict was pretty ridiculous.

The s6 also needs the led light pack cause it changes the light design and looks even better than the s7s lights

The s6 needs the prestige package

As a car video enthusiat, I would suggest for a more fun video to watch, especially for car driving/test video, just duped the voice over the outside view of the car while it's being driven (over different terrains and with different speed curves). It get boring real fast just looking at the driver. Just a feedback.

Demonstrating a performance car on or near the PCH is like demonstrating a crack rock in a police station. The closest _decent_ road is the Skyline. And "Audi's Quattro System" means jack. That's the one with the electronically-controlled center differential, but they still make torsen and even haldex cars, right?

Something he didn't mention is that the S7 is indeed sexier but heavier since obviously it's bigger than the S6.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the S6 has 5 seats and the S7 has 4. That is the same reason I cancelled an order for an S5, yes that only had 4 seats too. In fact most Audi's have 5 seats except the S5, RS5, S7 and RS7 even though the A5 and A7 have 5 seats. Obviously I'm excluding TTs and R8s. Can anyone explain that?

Audi only sells 2000 A6 and A7's a month in US. Hardy a car many people have the ability to afford.

I like the s7 because it looks more aggressive and its a hatch back but the rs7 model is a lot more faster so get the s6 over the s7 for more power

The rs7 is fast

The S6 was too much money and hard to find used so I got an '12 A6 and for 5K went APR stage 2 (448hp @ crank measured by APR). You get about the same experience for a lot less money. Also 31 mpg hwy :) It's twice as gas efficient as my 400 hp '13 WRX STI and weighs half a ton more. lol. Although the Subi is way more fun! :) I also think the full LED matrix headlights I have look much better than the new A6/S6 ones.. they include a Xenon bulb.. I compared them in person.

I'm over the carbon fiber, just over used.

I hate seeing German car brands beeing rewieved by US citizens. US want biger, louder, more powerful and they luck the touch for detailing and quality. German car brands especialy Audi are all about little details and quality. They are extremly well done with much effort on detailing and hence the price. And US citizes just don't appritiate that and make stupid comparison with Nissan, Hondas etc. It is just like F1 comparing with Nascar. F1 is state of the art wehicle, more like space shuttle while Nascal is just a tuned car. If you want just powerful, fast car you have lots of options for 1/10 of the Audi price.

Sorry will still buy 2016 S65 AMG or B6 Alpina over this.

God forbid you own these cars longer than their lease periods. Yes, their interiors are nice, but that's about the only thing nice about it. 80 &95g's for a suped up VW?!? Sweet baby Jesus. Nope, at this level I will gladly take the tesla over anything in this price range

The S7 is slower, has less headroom, cannot seat a fifth person, doesn't handle as well since it's 110 lbs heavier, has a weird overhanging rear end and ... get this ... it costs more!
