Totally disagree with a lot of what he said about the interior and the viability. Now does it take getting used to yes but you do get use to how to see out of the car. Also it is very smooth and rides like a luxury car. My only grip is the seats don't feel as comfortable as those in my Mustang I traded.
I am Ford guy but I got to give to Chevy, they made a great car. When it comes to performance, I have no doubt the Camaro is superior, that is until you step into the new Shelby GT350. So I say both cars offer a great value for the money. For me, it's not doubt the 2016 Shelby GT350 with no options which is listed at a little bit over 48k is my dream car. For now I will keep enjoying my 2011 Mustang GT, which is also an amazing, amazing car :D
It's silly to me that car reviewers get so hard on manual transmissions. The majority of buyers will get an auto and the technology advancement is in the auto. It's what needs to be reviewed.

Drove an SS and a 3.6 LT. Yeah, the blind spots are huge but you wont care. Just hit the gas to be sure there's no one there. It's more car than the 5 gen after wanted to be.
Richard Joash Tan It looks like a beefy Chevy Malibu.... Camaro's have always had a style onto themselves. The average non car enthusiast could look and know it is a Camaro... You just can't with this design... it is like they sterilized the Style.

Does it have 1) side turn lights on the mirrors or front fenders 2) homelink garage door opener? I wished it was even shorter because 188 inches is just 3 inches shorter than my 2014 Toyota Highlander SUV with 3 rows. It should have been 175 inches or less to match Porsche Cayman.

what I don't like about the Camaro is that it doesn't look much different from the previous generation. I know it has a facelift and everything, but I was hoping for a major change in the looks department when this new generation came around. I mean, we have the same look since 2010.
Although I prefer the outside of the mustang better, the interior of the camaro is much better for me. Looks like a freaking spaceship. Also if you compare prices side by side, the camaro offers more features.
I'd be seriously tempted to pick one of these up in the UK. But the second he said the Camaro's manual was "so so" at best, its turned me off altogether. I have a Mustang GT on order (hopefully being built this month) and its a joy to drive with the Euro suspension setup when I had a go in the dealer's demonstrator car, and its MT82 transmission was beautiful, if a bit too grabby when downshifting in traffic. I don't think I could live with anything less. But well done to GM regardless, it looks like a fantastic car with a good range of engines, and Cadillac handling will give it the edge on track. Though, I can't help but feel its not as good an overall package as the S550 Mustang. Sitelines and boot opening etc. etc.
+misamisatv Can you name a GT car (4 seats) with this much power and track prowess that weighs 3300lbs or less? Let alone one for under $40k? To compare, the M4 weighs 3530lbs, and the RC-F weighs 3737lbs. So despite a huge ($30k) price handicap Germany and Japan cannot make a 3300lb GT car with ~450+hp. You can apologize to America now.
Adam S The Camaro is not a GT car. The term GT is one of the most misused and abused terms in motoring. The Camaro's weight of 3300 I cited was for the their turbo 4 cylinder which we'll use in this discussion. The power output of the Camaro's V8 model is irrelevant because we're talking about the base model. The Mazda RX-7 weighs around 2600 to 2900 lbs., and even the heavy Nissan 370Z weighs 3200 lbs despite being a V6. The first Camaro weighed 2900 lbs back in 1967. Sports cars "should" be lightweight, nimble, and efficient with their tires at the track, not pig fat and lumbering. America is not very good at apologizing.

Hell its chief competitor is the Mustang "GT". 2) Sorry but the chassis was designed around its maximum potential not its minimum, so the SS IS what we are discussing. 3) The RX7 is irrelevant. It ended production nearly 20 years ago, meaning it didn't have to deal with 20 years of new safety regulation adding weight. The RX8 was admittedly light at 3100lbs but mostly due to its small naturally aspirated rotary which as downsides gets terrible gas mileage and produces very little torque. 4) Even the 370Z weighs 3500lbs now, and it doesn't even have back seats. The only way you can have lightness anymore is to dedicate more cost to lightness than other ares, like the miata, which got lighter but also got a less powerful mazda 3 engine. The Camaro got 200lbs lighter, and gained better materials to boot...I don't get how you have room to complain.

Even if the Mustang "GT" is its chief competitor, the GT moniker has been added to everything from Pontiac Sunfires to Hyundai Elantras. It is the most abused and misused term in the auto industry. *Even the SCCA doesn't put the Camaro into the Grand Touring category.* Granted it is true the RX-7 didn't have today's safety regulations, and yes the Camaro chassis was designed for the V8. All American Icon? It had been made in Canada for the longest time! This time being the second time it was built in Canada... Last time I checked, Canada wasn't part of America. I can understand wanna be an American Icon maybe?
Don't buy any GM car that comes with Onstar. I bought one with 6 months of Onstar, they stopped it short of 2 months. I also found out that with Onstar everything on your car for 5 years is recorded, even if you are not using them. I image they can void your warranty if you don't maintain your car to the letter. Plus, they sell the information.
The Camaro looks MUCH better now without the old transformers/boy-racer hood!!!! P.S. For the reviewer, you should have had the automatic it's ACTUALLY FASTER 0-60 m.p.h.!!!!!!
A true enthusiast picks a Manual gearbox in this segment of vehicles (due to driver engagement) which you apparently are not. But everyone has different needs and that is why automatics exist.

Its got less weight, more power, better handling, better fuel economy, much nicer interior. Aside from looks which is completely subjective the Gen 6 is an improvement in every single way!

But to call this a redesign to the point where the marketing team made it seem it was a whole new breed was misleading. I saw the unrevealing of it and so did millions, and guess what, 95% of those who saw it probably thought the same, oh it looks exactly the same as last years model. Of course performance, handling, and economy is gonna happen if you make the car smaller, and the price tag? $38,000 for the SS 1 package? That's a lot sir
josh bush It's not a lot when you consider it delivers M4 level performance for barely more than half the price. I certainly would have liked the exterior design to be more revolutionary, but GM went with iterative instead. This is a subjective decision, and many people like it. In every objective way the Camaro is better now than the 5th gen.
I wonder if GM has gotton all there oil leaks and electrical issues taken care of. i know they are still fixing cars from 97 + for oil leaks and fires. I really like this new Camaro but all the problems i have experienced with GM cars was just way too much in contrast to other car makers.

This car would be much more attractive IF you could actually see out of it.. no reason to make outward visibility so poor; that's just a huge fatal design flaw. Hey GM funny thing is people actually want to see in all directions when they're driving, not just in a straight line.
Sorry I hit the wrong button new Camaro has no comparison to the 2010 except for you can have a drink and the center console and still be able to shift the other thing I like is the AC vents the body shaping of the car sucks and if you've ever driven an old Camaro as I have and still do you're not you can't see out of the car for nothing

Was waiting for the all new 2016 Camaro for almost one year. I'm positive that camaro's performance is better than 2016 Mustang but is the only thing i can see after trying several times both cars. Mustang Ecoboost is weak compare to the six cylinder Camaro but superior to their 4 turbo version. SS has better performance than GT. Anything else, design, interiors, details, Mustang is superior. Depends what you want from an american muscle car, in my opinion you should go at least for a six cylinder Chevy for better muscle car feeling over the ecoboost mustang, forget about the 4 cylinder camaro. If you instead are not to concern about performance, mustang is a much better option and the ecoboost engine will surprise a lot of you even tho does not really feel like and sounds like a muscle car. It feels more european.
Unfortunately, I don't know why Chevy is insisting to make the camaro look worse and softer than before starting from 2014, I have 2013 and I think it's the best lookin camaro, not because I own it but a lot of people agreed, and the seats look like a big family car seats, also 2.0 camaro ?!! what the hell are you doing Chevrolet 😩
Good lord the visibility is not that bad! Very overrated. This guy just ripped apart the car. At least he liked the vents. I’d go to other reviews for a different perspective. There all not so negative
z00h Why kill it, just make it the same way it was in the 60's put a mid size V8 as standard and big V8 as performance special. Why not make a 6.2 with a bit more power than 450 bhp which is not that much by todays standards and fit some 4.2 turbo as a mid range option? Just give people some choice.
+kara88bg 455 hp is not that much? Are you out of your mind... the car hit's 60 in 4.0 seconds flat... that's extremely fast for a car that costs roughly 40k... a more apt comparison is drawn between the GT350 than the GT with this car.
