I agree w earlier comments - the camera goes in & out and is hard to follow. However, you showed some good details of the hardware that were missing from other videos, so I gave you a "like"
In a emergency, you can buy a cheap 24" long 3/8" drive extension from Harbor Freight and use a 12 point 1/2" socket on the end of the extension to slip over the square drive bolt head on the spare tire hoist. But be aware the 12 point socket will probably jam on the square bolt head of the hoist. The hoist bolt head is 0.460" square, just under 15/32". I tried using the female end of a long 1/2" drive extension but the O.D. is too large for the tube going to the spare tire hoist.
You might have the answer. On my truck, the tube from the bumper to the hoist was disengaged. I went to reconnect it but noticed the bolt head on the hoist and the end of the jack tool are both are both male. Is there a coupler inside the tube that was lost when the tube came off? What am I missing?
@@richb7524 The shaft extension that goes down the guide tube uses the female coupling end to mate with the square drive head of the hoist, the male end of the shaft mates with the lug wrench handle square drive hole in the middle of the lug wrench.
@@richardgalli7262 thnx for clearing that up. i had some undercarriage damage and was dropping the spare for the 1st time so it wasn't a normal situation- couldn't use the shaft extensions from the kit. felt like something was missing while re-assembling but apparently not
