About to replace my torque strut mount behind the trans. Anyone done this? Any risk of the motor moving while mount is out? Should I still rest a jack under?
Alright, it looks like most Malibu's have the same mounts even if it's a V6. The only problem with mine is that above the mount there's a coolant hose which prevents me from removing the middle bolt. That is just dumb. Thanks for the video.
My Mount and airbox is cracked in the same exact location. Did you notice any damage to the oil pan after the job was done? I wonder if the oil pan can handle the engine weight?
It’s able to carry some weight it’s not carrying all the weight as it’s connected to other motor mounts but it is important to use a wood chuck and not have metal on metal when jacking up the car
There is usually a bout 2 mounts on it and in most case if one cracks u wanna check the other one on the other side because it might be cracked as well but mines was just fine surprisingly lol
And just in case if you do have a problem with your motor mount check both if one is damaged most likely the other one might be to I forgot to note that in the video
@@snurfmuf3190 I'll be honest with you once the dealer dismissed it when it was under warranty and a local mechanic brushed it off I decided to ignore it. It hasn't gotten better or worse and I now have 83k miles.
