Buddy, you got jacked on the price. I've seen people buy a 2016 Z06 for about $75k. MSRP is $55k, and you can buy 2014-2015's all day long for about 50k with >10,000 miles.
BreakingGun He bought this Aug 2015. Those z06 prices are because of the 17 model coming out. You expect him to wait another year so he can get a better deal 😂
BreakingGun Z06's start at 78k so I'd love to see where you're getting 75k msrp. Also, 2014 stingrays have the much slower 6 speed automatic vs the 8 speed in this car. Even if you were to build my exact car on chevy's website, it'd come out to 71k. I wasn't jacked on the price.
This is a great review, actually the best review I've seen actually, and I've seen many reviews on this car. Thanks for the video, I've learned quite a bit from it and it makes me feel better about my decision to purchase a Corvette next month.
You wana know how to get these cars he reviews, and be very good parents to your future kids or kids or no kids lol. Learn to do stocks and trades. I promise youll get a new car within a year and half if you do it properly. Im telling you its not THAT HARD to get money, but it isn't impossible. If your a teen and your thinking of working at a local food store or shop, thats fine, but once you graduate, hone a skill in some field and excel and do stocks. You won't have to be 55 to be able to get your dream car.
I went to school, became a web developer, paid off debt quick because parents let me live with them, stayed a few more years with them and most of that money into Roth IRA and Vanguard index funds, gambled a portion of it on crypto last year and it went up 600%. Now I'm thinking of getting a used Corvette. Corvette's retain their value more than any other car, no point in getting a new one unless you have that much to spare.
I just drove my friends over the weekend & it's a pretty sweet ride. I was able to keep it at 55mph on a turn. I also love the hybrid automatic/manual sports transmission with the lever shifters on the wheel.
+Sam Jensen My dad owned an automotive parts business that had contracts with the government/military. He sold it a few years ago and retired lol. And thank you!
You forgot to mention that you can manually change the sound to be always a certain mode through the engine sound management. So you can be in Touring but have the most unrestricted Track exhaust mode on.
Pretty good vid! But you should definitely add a 1-2 minutes segment for getting out of the car, showing the blacked out grill etc and the trunk space :) Good job man.
@Rafiki QuirogaI agree that folks shouldnt assume. Bought mine when I was 23/24. it's now only 40k now ..for a used one but when it came out a fully loaded corvette was 70k brand new. I paid 53k for mine 4 years ago.
Very good looking car! There's a man in my town that owns either this or the Z06 in blue and it looks so sexy! I was behind him and at red light and he took off, so fast haha. Then he pulled into his driveway.
Thanks for the review. I saw another review clam the paddle shifters were on the column. May have been a previous year because here I can see them on the wheel.
Thanks for the vid and running through all the interior features and menus. I'm planning on ordering one in a few months. Love when you gassed it @2:09 I can't wait to get mine!
what bothers me is no parking sensors, no rear cross-traffic alert, not blind spot warning and none of the other safety features pretty much all cars have now..
Chevrolet needs to place the engine in rear of the car. I own a 2001 Corvette. The car needs to grow up. With the engine in the rear, the car will perform better.
Just one little nitpick. The car you're driving does indeed have a removable hard top, but it is NOT a T-top car. T-tops are TWO removable roof panels that latch on laterally and socket in medially to the superior aspect of the birdcage. The mid to late C3 corvettes, while crippled by the EPA as they were, are good examples of a T-Top car. Finally, very nice corvette. I opted for a C3 Vette simply because I like two things about them more than any subsequent edition: the long, sexual front end, and the aggro, throat-gurgling sound of that old carbureted 350. I dont personally understand how GM sleeps at night knowing they neutered America's sports car by soundproofing the cabin. However, this is just what makes corvette people great: Just as much as C3s are my favorite for their shaky ride and guttural exhaust notes, some hate the C3 and prefer c5, 6, and 7 Vettes like your stingray because they have more power, a more modern, refined sound, and a smooth ride. I'm an old soul trapped in a 25 year old body and my C3 is the only thing I have that allows me to fully live in this generation where the cool of the late 70s/early 80s translates to chauvenism and dropping out of high school. Cheers, and I hope you get hundreds of thousands of wonderful, heart-awakening miles out of your Vette; I know I will.
You're right and you're also wrong. While this car is not a T-Top in the normal sense of the 2 removable panels as you said which is true, it's still a "T-Top car". Do you know the history behind why GM called it a T-Top? Most people think it's because of the T bar when both tops are removed but it's not. It's literally short for TARGA TOP. At the time it was introduced GM couldn't use Targa in their marketing because Porsche had already patented the name for there model so GM just used T-Top for short.
+carlos marine This world is going to be so different when my people and the rest of the commonwealth take over.... Just wait my human friends, it will be AWESOME!!!
+Eunjung's #1 fan also depends on the car, location to be driving, age and sex of the driver. Example a 35 year old female in Arizona would pay less than an 18 year old male in New York for the same car driven the same distance ...
Looking to pick one up as well. Corvettes have been pretty reliable and maintenance costs shouldnt be too much because its American and I'd imagine parts would be cheap
I'll wait until the 2017 Stingray comes out which according to my sources (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more) has the engine and drive train from the Chevrolet Volt instead of the V8 supercharger. It will loose a bit on the acceleration but make up for that 10 times over in fuel efficiency.
just saying for the comment people. if I bought me a used camaro ss or mustang gt. I pay half and pay the insurance. will I be considered spoiled? yes I am able to make that kind of money, I make a very good amount every year.
+exman55coolkid if I were you, I wouldn't worry about being "spoiled", the only people that care are the people that don't matter Let me give you a good example I own a 1963 mercury comet with a 5.0L turbo charged. I mostly keep it on the track or when I'm taking my girlfriend out somewhere nice. My daily driver is a Standard PT Cruiser and it is quite ugly and banged up. Do I care what people think about it? Nope! Life is all about being happy man. not about what people have to say about you. hope that helps!
LamboDEB I didn't tag anything. At the time this was posted, it was the 1st or 2nd 2016 Corvette review on RU-vid. Naturally it gained popularity because it was the first to show up if you typed in 2016 Corvette.
Thanks! Does the sport mode make it louder in a 1LT? What color seats are better if there was such a thing the Red or Black interior with the white exterior?
and no where near the performance on any level. Plus the C7 looks a million times better. Sometimes it is more than just about the dollars and numbers. That would be settling. I have wanted a Corvette for over 30 years and that;s all I will get when I can. No wasting money settling.
