The Twilight Zone Terror of Terror was a drop tower dark ride at Disney California Adventure (DCA) in Disneyland Resort. It was replaced in 2017 with Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout!
This is some unpublished footage that I found in my video archives. It's a bit overexposed in some shots since I was still learning how to use the camera.

I know people love mission breakout but this ride was so much better in terms of atmosphere. You really didn't need to watch twilight zone to understand the feeling it gives you while there. Mission breakout I've still yet to see GOTG and I'm just enjoying the music not the characters, idk this ride will always be superior even with MB randomized falls

thats whats really sad is that tower of terror was a fan favorite without the randomized drop profiles , guardians would be nothing without the randomized drop profiles thats like the selling point for everyone

The drop sequence might be better on Mission Breakout but in terms of story and aesthetic and originality, this wins by a long shot.

Tower of terror, mission breakout sucks, I mean it isn’t bad but Tower of Terror. In my opinion they should have added the new drop profiles from “A New Dimension of Chills” which they had done at DLP.

I think they’re both great, but I have to say Mission Breakout because it’s more original. This one was just a watered down version of the one in Florida.

Theming, theming, theming throughout the ride, inside and out is what made this a great ride. It's tie-in with the classic Twilight Zone makes it my all-time favorite Disney attraction.

On every halloween, they need to make the cast members for mission breakout wear the old bellhop costumes from tower of terror.

I’m 14 years old and I cried on this ride when I was 7. Then I cried on mission breakout when I was 13. And now that I’m 14 I can finally handle going on mission breakout without crying. I felt like I turned into a ghost when I went one tower of terror. And I went on mission breakout I felt like I turned into a alien. (Thanks a lot Rocket😒)

Maybe it’s just me, but the theming of the Hollywood blvd and NOT having this masterpiece sitting on Sunset blvd at DCLA, just breaks the illusion badly. But it is what it is.

I just can't believe that the Disney California Adventure version of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror had been closed down in January of 2017 to be replaced by Guardians of the Galaxy - Mission: Breakout!. I feel bad that many people who reside in California won't be able to enjoy it anymore and have to go all the way to Florida to ride the Disney Hollywood Studios version. It's not like they were getting bored with it the Disney California Adventure version and wanted it to be replaced by something else. The people who runs the Disneyland Resort could've still had Avengers Campus replace A Bug's Land and let The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror remain operating to this day. If you want my opinion, it just seemed like a complete waste of time and good money to have the Disney California Adventure version of the ride closed down to be replaced by something else. I hope the Disney Hollywood Studios version of The Twilight Zone Tower of Terror won't ever be closed down to be replaced by something else as well. Before the Disney California Adventure version had been opened on May 5th of 2004, the exterior and interior should've also been built to look like the Disney Hollywood Studios version too. I just like the exterior and interior of that one better.

yeah i know there's a florida version but when you go on a ride on it it feels boring the paris version is similar to this one but it has a new ride projection that's called "new dimension of chills" that's not scary at all. but the california version is the best

@@CJ_7521 I agree. The California version was perfect. The narration and timing of all the scenes and effects were so perfect that it actually felt scary. I like the modern sounding on ride audio as opposed to the old 1950s sounding on ride audio at the Orlando location. The old audio is fine for the line queue but the modern audio on the ride itself sounds more like you’re actually in the twilight and not just observing it secondhand.

Omgggg I didn't get too I was there before it closed but my friend didn't want to go on it with me and I didn't want to go alone so I missed out even though it was my favorite rideeee. I regret it to this day lol.

Sad one of my favvorites is gone. The pre ride was great and the ride itself different!!! I don't need a Gardiens ride.........need to go to WDW I think they still have it.
