Sounds like brake booster losing vacuum and brake pedal not traveling far enough to engage the brake on/off switch. Push harder on the brake pedal and see if it starts then
I am having same issue. 2016 F150 Lariat. Change the starter about 4 weeks ago seemed to fix the issue or at least I thought it did until this pass weekend when it happened again. Only 46k miles. Any ideas???
Mine is doing that now, I’ve heard it has to do with your key fob, I’ve also heard it has to do with your remote start twitching out and telling the vehicle computer not to start. Someone told me they had the same problem but it was fixed when the engine harness was replaced, nobody at the dealership has an idea, this is just unacceptable.
I just found out what is causing this problem. It turns out that I took it to a sound shop to install an amplifier and a subwoofer and they connected the remote of the amplifier through the interior fuse box. So when the truck/engine was warm, it startef without a problem, but when it was cool it didnt start. So the solution is to change the interior fuse box.
Im having a similar problem with my 2015 F150. I read a thread on the internet, where it mentioned that pumping the break pedal 20 times before pushing the start button made it start. The problem in my case is that when I try to start it, the green led on the start/stop button blinks intermitently after I push it. So I tried pumping the brake pedal and it worked. Then I noticed that i could start the truck again without any problem if I tried starting it within 1 hour after parked again (when the engine has not cooled off completely). If I try to start it after 1 hour or more, I would have to do the pumping procedure again. Also noticed that it worked sometimes and sometimes it doesnt (it has happened to me 3 times in the last 2 dias) still I have managed to turn it on (luckily). Tomorrow I will take it to the dealership to check the problem out.
NEver did find out, the dealership replaced the brake pedal sensor but no change, I did find if I applied very heavy pedal pressure it would start. I almost had to stand on it but it would start.
How you figured it out yet? I am currently going through this problem and my truck has been stranded for several days at my landlord's house. Everything is the same, except my remote start will not start the truck.
Get up under the truck with 2 screw drivers and make the starter connection between all three terminals it will bypass everything, you have to have the truck switched on
I'm having the same problem sir. Page 160 in the owners manual says to press the accelerator and then start it. I have a 2015 king ranch and it's done this about 4 times already in the month that I had it. Changed the fob batteries and it's still doing it. It also says to make sure that the fob is not near your cell phone. I hope this helps you or someone else. Please reply back with solutions, lol.
@@travissapp2266 ...Thanks for Your reply Travis....I had to tow it out the job site and all clues point to the starter...I took it off last night, tested it with jumper cables and it was not engaging...I went to the dealership this morning and ordered the original OEM motorcraft starter and it arrives tomorrow morning, I hope it cranks tomorrow...missed 3 days of work because of this...I will confirm tomorrow if it starts.
@@travissapp2266 .... All roads lead to the starter....took off the old starter yesterday and ordered a new one at the dealership (didn't want an off brand rebuilt starter for 50 bucks more I got the exact one brand new OEM Motorcraft) ...., picked it up today installed it in a few minutes...Cranked up ! ...Travis, Thanks for Your communication...👍👷♂️
@@andrecummings13 I changed the Starter relay (65 relay in engine compartment fuse panel). Seems like that worked but not sure because the problem occurred intermittently.
