It annoys me that people always argue Ford is better than GM or GM is better than Ford like what always happens and always will is Ford makes a really good car that’s better than GM then a couple years later GM makes a really good car better than Ford like it’s always back and forth it just depends on the year both makers and cars are amazing.

The 2014 Camaro Z/28 is really a wonderful car. Only 515 and 1201 in two year run. I haven’t seen any in person. I saw it at a car show back in 2014. All the racing technology and how it looks in person is amazing. This will be a super collectible car.

The GT350R makes the Z/28 look cheap despite being more expensive than the Mustang.

Ford did everything right with this GT350. I'm not much of a Mustang guy but I would honestly consider getting one. This is coming from a guy that has 2 Camaros and is planning on getting a Corvette.

Flatplane V8 and magnetic ride: Ferrari level technology (Well, not that high, but almost), Carbon Wheels: exceptionally light, and cheaper than a Camaro? I might choose this over a GT-R and that is high praise from a guy that loves a GT-R. I mean I cannot ignore the fact that it has stunning styling and that glorious screaming V8 sound is just exceptional. And also the Camaro is a very fast car as we know, but this one is faster on the track and on the drag strip.

And I can't stop giggling!!! I used to own an 86 Mustang with a 351C and a Borg-Warner t45. I only got pulled over for speeding once. Officer asked me if I knew how fast I was going, and I said no, because the speedo only went to 85. He had me clocked at 137, but only gave me a warning.

As my dad picked up his GT350R he "accidentally" woke up some of our neighbors. :)

I just watched motorweek compare the 1982 mustang and Camaro. Interesting to hear the announcer talk about how awesome they were - both cars were in the 15.5 sec range. Crazy what these new versions are and what they can do now. Love the 50ish year old rivalry!

There's a reason the only car that beat this out for best drivers car was the Mclaren 570S, which costs more than $100,000 more than it. Bravo Ford...

The Z28 is not big, the Challenger is big.

I own a Z/28 and am wondering how many here have ever seen one in person, let alone driven one because I've had mine 2+ years and still have people tell me it's the first one they've seen in person (and I live an major metro area...). Both are great and 99% of you would take either if keys were handed to you. I'd gladly have an R (but not for $90k+) and only if I could keep my Z. Also, I can assure you that videos don't do its exhaust note any justice. Funny story... guy w/ an R heard my car driving through a parking lot and walks over to tell me that he wished his car sounded that good. I've heard 350s rumbling down the road and thought "damn, that sounds mean as hell" From a performance standpoint, they're close enough that unless you're a pro racer, you'll never get anywhere near the upper limit of performance so it doesn't really matter. That said...the Mustang is built on a next generation platform. Z/28 was built on a 4 year old platform. You can't deny that it's pretty impressive in its ability to match up well against the 350R. In fact, in some cases, it has beaten the R's track times. Also, watch the 'Every Day Driver GT350 (non R) vs. Boss 302' vid. Same guy owns both cars. He prefers the Boss 302. I had a Boss LS. Fantastic car, but Z is so much better that it's not even close. Btw, it should be given that it's MSRP was 50% more than the Boss'.

The answer to why the GT350 is so planted out of corners can be found at 9:28 Just look at that torque spike with the Z28. Although more fun, the gradual curve the Ford has is better on a racetrack.

I watched this when it came out 5 years ago and for some reason RU-vid auto played it after another video I was watching. I had to watch it again. One of motor trends best videos ever. Both are amazing cars to this day. That GT350 voodoo V8 though........the best sounding engine ever created. Hands down.

I have read in multiple places that they are making 137 of the new Shelby; 100 of the GT350 (50 with and 50 without the track pack) and 37 of the GT350R. If that's the case I don't even know why people discuss these cars like it's going to be possible to own. I checked autotrader and it says there are 166 for sale, so I really don't know what to believe. All of them are anywhere from 20-40k over MSRP. Glad to see dealerships are price gouging the fuck out of them. Again, good luck owning one.

Why cant mustang/camaro/charger drivers get along its all about hate and competition these days.I own a gt500 and when i see those camaro/charger I just wanna tell theme lets all get along all our cars are made in america not like Japanese toyota.

I owned a 1993 mustang Cobra, 2012 Boss Laguna Seca, and a 2013 Shelby GT 500. I saw the GT350 R and I really like it. I drove the 2014 Camaro Z/28 and I felt win love. It’s a driver car and old school features. The 427 is going to be a classic since they will not going to manufacture more big engines. The camaro has Formula 1 suspension and carbon fiber breaks. Is a great pice of American history and muscle.
