I don't normally watch vlog style videos like these, but this series has been a blessing. I've been thinking of getting one of these ever since I was Uber'd in one years ago (same color as yours), and now that I can actually afford one, I'm going to start looking for my own. Cheers!
I wanted one so bad and actually found out a real nice one with low KMs. Sadly the deal did not work out so picked up a 9th gen Si instead. Loving it so far!
You have the unicorn--a 6 speed manual 9th gen Accord with a V6! It is absolutely beautiful. I have a 2017 V6 automatic Accord sedan. I just love the J35 engine, so powerful and yet smooth. I'm almost at 100,000 miles and just paid around $1600 for the timing belt, spark plugs, and brake fluid service. I'll do the valve adjustment in about a year. Plan to keep it for a while unless I can find a V6 coupe like yours or possible the 2018-2020 Accord 6 speed manual 2.0t.
Great update video, I might look into those door speakers , I still wish I found a 6 speed but I am still pretty happy with the Tourings Auto , it's not terrible , I have 100k km on my car , a few stones chips but no peeling, I got a paint stick from honda for some touch ups , when your talking about deck lid rattle , can you help fix it without removing the deck lid ? Always enjoy your content 👌
Thanks! Yeah my last 9th gen was a 2017 V6 AT I bought new, drove it for 4 years with no complaints. Nothing wrong with it. If you have the stock sub stuffing socks or some foam in between the deck and rear window will help, but otherwise you're gonna need to do what I did. Removing the deck isn't too bad, it's just held in with clips.
Hey man , i was wondering about your previous vehicle, im getting exhaust for mine , looked at magna flow and borla , magna flow is kinda vq sounding, but i know the borla sounds pretty good , you said you added resonator but do you think the borla alone will be ok ? Your videos of just Borla still sounded pretty decent imo , just wanted your thoughts , thanks
Mine is all white and all black rims and wheel and a black gloss roof, also I kept my vents black and kept the chrome finishing touches and it looks beautiful hopefully someday I’ll have enough for a v10 custom engine swap and make a prototype super Honda but not an NSX but an ACCORD SUPER COUPE!!!!
I’m having trouble with the CarPlay in my 9th gen accord. I’m a previous video you mentioned that you are able to reset the CarPlay in these cars? How do you do that?
There's honestly really nothing you can do about it; these radios just kinda suck. I installed Honda Hack which lets me reboot the head unit when it's having issues without having to stop and turn off the car. Outside of that it's deal with the issues or swap it out for an aftermarket unit. I've just been dealing with it
I have this exact "Still Night Pearl" on my 2017 Touring Coupe. Love the car overall, but I really wish I had found a manual version available since that 6 AT is SO clunky... Oh well. But do you have any more info on how you changed the door speakers, what part numbers, and what all it involved? I have been noticing my mids and mid-bass severely lacking, even with an aftermarket subwoofer. Also, since those speakers are higher quality, is the volume lower because it takes more power to drive them?
Here is a link to what I bought www.ebay.com/itm/325688913080 They're speakers out of the 2015-2020 Acura TLX. They almost bolt right in, just gotta remove the door panel and break off the two tabs at the bottom. And nah no difference in volume, they're 2 ohm speakers and the factory amp has no problem driving them
Clean! Quick question, the ELS speakers. I’ve been meaning to do a simple plug/play on the speakers I know you said they’re direct fit minus some tabs, but I did some research. And I saw that on the ELS they’re 2ohms vs the factory 4ohms, did you have to do anything else for the speakers or the fuse was clearly for the subwoofer? I’m not audio electrician, so I’ve been holding off on the speakers until some easy plug and play popped up. Thanks!
Sorry for the late reply, RU-vid doesn't notify me about comments very well anymore. No modifications required, they bolt right in and work normally. The base model stereos might have an issue tho, I think the amp is weaker. But EX and up should be fine
@@accordinglyryan No worries. Same I wasn’t notified of your response. And thanks again. I’ve been able to get the speakers, the sub is just missing for now. But thanks again! Hopefully this upgrade is better than what the stock touring is. Also any reason why you didn’t change out the rear speakers as well? I think for the sedan they’re on the rear deck, similar to the coupe.
Since you love this car so much , have you thought about touring headlights? Maybe its just me but I love the way those lights look . And mine are so insanely bright at night .
Where did you get the Honda Emblems??? And whats your Wheel and Tire specs? Thank you My plan for my Accord Coupe Front 245/40/18 18/8.5/35 offset Rear 275/35/18. 18/10.5/38 off set You think it will fit??? Not lowered yet
Dealership, from a 2017 CTR. Rear one is a tad bit smaller than the factory one but it's hardly noticeable. Wheels are 19x9.5 +35 with 5mm rear spacers and 245/40R19. Those fronts will fit fine but rears might be pushing it.
Too much lol. $24K with a blown clutch, but blue 9.5 6-6s are very rare so I didn't have much of a choice. You could certainly do that, just need bumper, headlights and grille
I ve done a lot of aftermarket upgrades kind of drafting off of you. Especially the enkei tfr wheels. Some things I can't like the color and a 6spd Trans. I have a 16 black v6 touring. But you're right there's nothing out there that looks or feels like this. Sitting 89k right now, planning on reaching 300 and then dropping another motor in it. I do always look at the k tuner or the hondata but I'm always reluctant to pull the trigger.
You may not even need to replace the engine by that point lol, these things will go forever with good maintenance. For the automatic cars Ktuner is an absolute must imo. You can turn off VCM which makes it sound and drive so much better (especially with an aftermarket exhaust) and you can also enable "improved shifting" for the trans which will make the actual gear changes faster/better.
Bro the rims are clean. What are they? Was thinking of getting some. The guy I bought mine off of had the infinity rims on them with the badge removed 😂Also, is it lowered a bit?
Hey Ryan, I'm interested in a V6 MT coupe- I know they hold their value pretty well. Current market prices for a 13-15 are hovering $10-15k, where as a 9.5 is $20-24k. Do you think the price increase is worth it for what is essentially a facelift? Maybe there is something I'm missing. Thanks in advance, learned a lot about these accords through your videos.
Personally I prefer the styling of the facelift and also having CarPlay, so yea to me it’s worth it. But they are identical mechanically so the rest is up to you lol
The infotainment head unit is a pain point. Apple car play craps out on me all the time. The paint work does look great. I have lots of love to give mine, budgeting in a paint job. What did you grunt bumper part cost you? Did you grab from a dealership?
Awesome car. Love the color combo and the 6-6. A suggestion if i may, naybe look into upgrading the brakes? Something "oem+" like the 07 08 tl types s brakes.
I've thought about it but big brake kits won't clear the wheels without spacers. And honestly, I don't track this thing or anything like that so the stock brakes are fine.
I just acquired a 98 Accord love it to bits as my first Honda just like the second green one you got. Not the full story but you need to do an update on why you sold your mom's or your second accord you just glossed over it for a few seconds in the last update to the pilot.
@@accordinglyryan that makes sense for sure I’m in the same boat lol except we my partner and I have our own cars and the 98 accord is the weekend car.
Looks amazing with that paint, and the sound system upgrade is great for the budget, i kinda wish they didnt get rid of the v6 for the accord, they replaced it with a 2l 4cyl turbo for the 10th gen i believe, i get why they did that, but i feel like i can say that the earlier gen with the v6 is amazing, because of the engine ,especially with an aftermarket exhaust they sound epic.
Yeah I absolutely hate the 10th gen lol. And the 2023 is a nice car but completely lost the soul of the older Accords. I'm never getting rid of this one
@Dell0304 I do like the 10th gen, but not anywhere near as much as the older ones with the v6, i get why pepole hate the newer 10th gen ones, theyre just not the same as the v6 accords, these older accords just have that soul of a nice sounding v6 witch never gets old.And you for sure keep that thing for as long as you can
@@accordinglyryan 10th gen is good. I hate that they discontinued the V6. But that 2.0T can make like 300whp with nothing more than a simple tune flash. 11th gen is horrible. They could have at least had an all-electric option, or a faster hybrid. It's so stupid that the fastest 2023 Accord is slower than a 2008 V6 manual Accord.
@@JustinDaniels Well, as much as we hate to admit it, 99% of Accord buyers bought the slow 4cyl one. People like us that like the faster, sportier models weren't buying them in large numbers so I get why they stopped making them (same reason there's no more coupe). Still makes me sad, but I get it from a business perspective.
the 2.0T was nearly as fast as the v6 and way more fuel efficient, it was great, only downside was a 4 cylinders already dont sound that great and a turbo muffles it more.
honestly if your daily driving this car alot and plan to keep the car long then you should change out the main screen you talked about. Ive seen a few accord with the 150-250$ screen that supports ios and android that is pretty much a tablet and works pretty fast too. It would def be good for you since youve done speakers and subs already
I don't trust those cheap tablet radios. If I change the factory radio I lose the ability to access vehicle settings etc which I'm not a fan of. I'm gonna ride out this crap radio as long as I can lol
Awwww man you have such a beautiful car. And you put the worst possible sub in there. I’m not hating. But you can get some very very nice door speakers that will fit. And a very nice subwoofer. Look into the Rockford fosgate p300-12. Or the p500-12. They are compact have built in amps and will make a world of a difference. It will be pricey but you get what you pay for. Definitely if you have quality go for a vent enclosure. And always do your research working on electrical. Wire size fuse size and everything has to be properly installed or there can be issues. If you are under 2000amps nothing should happen but still lol.
I have zero complaints about what I chose, it does absolutely fine for my needs. I didn't want a huge sub, just a little more bass than stock and it does that for me perfectly.
@@accordinglyryanare they going to discontinue the (genuine) HFP kits soon? Thought they were Personally I think the HFP kit would finish off this being the perfect accord. HFP makes a bigger difference on the 8th gens (mines also blue), but a nice subtle touch on the 9s
@@trashbandit2449 Yea I believe so, that's what I've heard from some Accord people I talk to. I like the HFP kit on the 13-15 but for some reason I feel the 16-17 doesn't need it
@@accordinglyryan I'd agree with that. Feel free to post more videos on it, I'd always watch them 😁 might make me regret deciding not to buy a 17 6-6 in the same color though
