PDriveTV Single car vids were good but comparisons are even better!

PDriveTV comparing cars head to head is far more entertaining than single car demonstrations.

The F sport doesn’t add power. So it is Apples to apples. It’s Lexus V6 3.5 against Hyundai V6 3.8. The only time the sport package makes a difference is on the track. Then I’d agree that it isn’t a fair comparison but straight line isn’t affected by those mods. To get more power you need to go to the GS-F which is the 5.0 monster. Then this car even with its 5.0 wouldn’t have a chance.

I mean, at least Genesis isn’t trying to call this a sport sedan like Acura yet the Acura is FWD and this is RWD with a chassis built by Lotus. And Lexus is still using the same old ancient infotainment to this day from the one in this video, along with Infiniti. Give me one reason to buy one of those over this Genesis for a fraction of the cost?😂

Stefan Unson the upper segment is more than leather, big engines and beautiful design, its about the people behind the brand, its about the experience on visiting the dealer, its about the status a brand gives you, soooo, hyndai and kia have done a remarkable job at the drawing board, now its their time to spend much, much more on developing a brand, a new one, with its own philosophy and commitment to their customers, only then they will start taking a significant share of the luxory segment, otherwise this cars will see space only in the garage of south korean diplomatic and expats personnel.

This Comparison is between a Lexus and the HYUNDAI Genesis, and that Hyundai that weighs 600 more pounds is in the same performance level. Only Took the GENESIS ONE year to surpass that Lexus. Fully loaded 2018 ES 350, same price as the 2018 Gensis G80 Sport, Put your money where your mouth is on that Comparison ( IN ANY CATEGORY)

The grill looks better when you get it in a different color but when you get the car and silver the grill does look ugly honestly I think silver is the worst color you can get on a Lexus

But it didn't out-perform the Genesis in every way, WOT interior noise was quieter in the Genesis and braking was better too. The transmission on the Genesis was also MUCH quicker at picking a suitable gear in the 60-100 even though it upshifted just before they floored it. We're talking about two cars 250kg apart in weight, THE .2/.4 0-60-100 is a compromise I'd trade for a quieter interior.

But the GS handles far better. In fact, the GS handles better than every other German executive car(BMW 5 series, MB E class, Audi A6) let alone the Hyundai. Thanks to the new generation L10 Lexus chassis that is very lightweight for its rigidity and roadholding prowess.

Deandre Taylor That's not really true about the GS. Toyota doesn't make a car on the GS platform or the LS, LC, or IS cars for that matter. Also, the Lexus engines are quite a bit different than the Toyota versions they are derived from. The Lexus suv's though, you are definitely right as far as the platforms go. I can't speak for the Genesis brand. I don't know their cars that well.

Dre Taylor that’s an ignorant comment from someone that thinks he knows something. Every company that exists shares their platforms across all of their cars. Lexus currently only has one sedan that shares a platform with Toyota and that’s the ES. Even that car has tons of changes to its platform to make it more suitable for a luxury car. It’s not a simple badge swap like many ignorant people claim.

Konan Kun - Couldn't agree more, the genesis trumphs the Lexus (Toyota) in multiple areas - also looks alot better, the current gen GS is far to long in the tooth in several areas.

I am not sure - both still look cheap in many ways. The Hyundai for example is supposed to be a contender with some luxury rivals, but for example it has Halogen high beams? or a cheap looking speedo? The Lexus looks better on the outside I think but inside you still have the Toyota look with things like indicator stalks etc :( I think I will just stick with European cars !

Matt Smith - Well considering it holds the highest ANCAP score ever recorded in Australia & features tech which in areas trumphs the germans, and still beats the most direct E-Class or 5-Series in multiple aspects Along with having some of the best in class stuff, i'll stick with a company which isn't about the badge. ever wonder why the head designer of Audi (Peter Schryer) & former M-Division head engineer moved to Hyundai/Kia because the company isn't no longer a budget brand - seems the germans are doing that all to well these days

Matt Smith - Also worth mentioning is the fact that standard equipment is leather/nappa leather (Ultimate) - unlike the equiv model from the germans using vinyl rubbish (MBtex & whatever bmw call their fake pleather) - Several things on the genesis are industry firsts
