I have a 2014 Chieftain and i'm trading it in, in 3 days for the 2016 Chieftain with the Dirty Bird "Peace Pipe". I'm buying the silver bike just like the one in the video. I LOVE my Indian and will never own anything else

I rented an identical silver 2016 machine in Las Vegas and rode it for three days. Overall I would give it a 4 out of 10. The front end was extremely twitchy and wouldn't hold a line. It was unnerving to say the least. The std 2016 windscreen is way too low and had bad noise and turbulence for me at 6'1". The bike weighs over 850 pounds -- it is truly a pig. It was OK in straight line but very unnerving in any kind of slow to medium corner. The machine required near constant small steering corrections. Might be the worst street bike I've ever ridden in that respect, and I've been riding since 1977 with 200k miles on two whiles. I really did not like the rear brake pedal -- it it positioned too high. Overall I couldn't wait to return this bike to Eaglerider and would emphatically discourage anyone from getting the 2016 model. Perhaps the earlier models (with bigger windscreen) have different suspension settings. You couldn't pay me enough to get back on this thing -- not without major changes to he front suspension.

AccurateShooter as you stated you rented the bike. Rentals especially in Vegas are known for being extremely ragged out. Goes for cars also.

The fairing styling is growing on me. It's not getting more attractive but less unattractive in certain colors. What jacket are you riding in?

if you have a fairing on it, you need the trunk. The trunk of sets the ugly thing.

+grabir01 Oh shut up... I hear this complaint all the time from old people and the reality is that the electronics work perfectly fine and will continue to work perfectly fine... Old people initially bitched about EFI, too complex, it can never work...been nothing but reliable...then it was water cooling....which worked perfectly well and allowed many manus to bump their torque across the board... RFID in the keyfob has been around for what, 10 years now? It's a proven technology, it's very reliable. Nothing here is a new idea and all of it existed in 2015 with no widespread issues.. It's the same technology as all the HD hard baggers, goldwing, etc., all of which work fine..

I am an an MSU grad with a Degree in Electronics Engineering and hold many Copyrights to Designs and Patent pending on others in Mechanical Engineering designs.. My Minor is Computer Technology. Also I build both Voice and Data networks as well. Electronics has its place for sure when it comes to Automobiles. Such as ignition and lighting. That is it for me.... 10 years is a long time for you it seems... You act like a 16 year old taken with video gaming. My guess is that you do not know the difference between PNP and NPN !!

+grabir01 I can care less what your pedigree is. The point is MrSlowest is correct. I have zero problems with my new Street Glide, now my EVO, that's a labor of love. I'll take my reliable 2013 any day over that shovel, pan and EVO shit any day. They always have problems.

grabir01 I wrench on my own bikes, and for more technical (out of my league) fixes, I have good mechanics to turn to without having to pay for stealership prices. Hey, I love the old stuff, I own a shovel head and an EVO, but like I said, I'll take reliability over those bikes any day. My evo and shovel are great cruising around town bikes, but when it comes to miles, I'll take out the Street Glide.
