Hey Tyler , I'm a relevantly new fan and I have no idea what. ' Pole ' means ..?? Everyone's excited that Hinch has gotten a Pole ....so do only certain amt of drivers get to participate ??
Jeannine Gagné Sorry for being late to answering your question, but I've not been paying attention to my Google+. "Pole" position is awarded to the driver that qualifies the highest. So, for example, if you qualify 1st, you get pole. And as for participation, in most racing events an entry list is set for teams and drivers. For the Indy 500 this year, the limit was met, so everyone drove in the race. However last year, 1 driver was sent home as the worst qualifier due to the entry limit being surpassed.
238 miles per hour at the end of the straight ! ! ! As a former race driver I really appreciate the smooth driving and perfect race lines that James did. He is very, very good.
+BendtFender28 as I said, it lengthens the straitaway which allows higher top speed to be generated, because the corners scrub off a lot of speed despite them being taken flat out
