Things must have been relaxed as all the lads I know who did the Manx and TT this year have posted vids on RU-vid.. Any plans to go back Fagan? I thought you were hooked
Love these little behind the scene diary videos guys, I've only been riding for a year and a half, so it's just mindblowing to see all that goes into races like these. Technical prep and actual riding skills... Props!
Been looking at the TT race on google... First TT was 105 years ago, and has been every year except a period during the war and a couple of other years. Overall there have been 263 recorded deaths at the isle of man races. Two so far this year have died, sidecar driver Dwight Beare, 27, and motorcyclist Paul Shoesmith, 50 both died on the 4th of june 2016 (last saturday). Fucking brutal. Stay safe out there Alastair, and everyone else who is there or racing. x
I love love LOVE listening to people who know their shit. 7:59 i'm stuck to my screen with my jaw dropped. And hearing Fagan go "FFFFFF" in the back just makes you realise how serious this stuff really is. Double bloody brilliant.
Good luck and have fun! I'm enjoying the vids. And the info about the track and how to approach it in particular. In case I'm able to make the Mountain Course myself one day.
Allistair, great candid interview. The advice about being light in the saddle was priceless, hope you've been doing your squats. This race isnt a one time event it is a devotion if that makes any sense. Be smooooth and finish and that is an acomplishment you can build on. Where the hell is bvg, mid life crisis? I thought he would be there hes got camera skills. Keep on brother good luck.
It does sound bloody terrifying doesn't it? Just let the bike wobble underneath you and just aim for the light at the end of the tunnel? Balls of steel, absolutely.
Al , to combat sun in my eyes I run a couple of strips of insulation tape across the top of the visor. When the sun strikes just dip your head to put it behind the tape. The sun becomes a little dot behind the tape and you can see without frying your eyes, kinda like the sun visor in a car. Hope this helps you sometime.
I see the weather isn't playing along for the 2017 TT. Here's wishing all involved the best races ever. Here in Canada, the IOM TT doesn't even get a mention and I have to sift through web sites to see what is going on. I hate popular media.
Al, where can I get those bar grips you have on the SV 650`s? I have a set on my bars at the moment, changing the bars, so need some new, can`t find any.
I don't think you are allowed to film onboard-footage and post it on YT, social media etc. yourself. North One Television has all sales and distribution rights.
Where do you find all the tuning parts for the bike? Or are they custom made? I´ve been looking for part to my gsx650f and all I find is slip-ons and Dynos...
whats the names of your Bike?? Not the manufacturer name Suzuki, but the actual name of the bike? and did you say its a twin? So its a parallel twin im guessing? There sweet looking bikes man. there all in the 70 horsepower range? I thought I heard you say that, just asking because they look like 150+ horsepower bikes. great videos though, I really enjoyed them!
you can buy SV race fairings from a few places on line just search, I can't imagine this is a 2016 donor, more likely to be older gen, not sure anyone has tried doing it with a new one yet, they've only been out a few months..
Those are GSXR 600 2016 fairings. The whole Gladius/SV650 thing is explained in previous episodes. I think it's a gladious frame and engine and clutch.
Could someone explain to me, because I can't understand them by their accent at all, why Fagan's bike have a new engine and standard gearbox? Is that only his one or all from their team?
All 4 bikes started with 90bhp supertwin engines and nova gearboxes. After the first night of practice and con-rod bolt failures, 3 were refitted with stock engines and gearboxes.
+TheTomster94 I thought he said some of them have roughly 100bhp. I was thinking maybe he was just using slightly less power to learn the course better first
650Dan Hi Dan. 'We've broken three sets of big end bolts" is what was said in the video, so spares were used to replace the parts three times over, before switching to a stock engine with less power. Hope that helps.
This is not as good as the grumbly baron. I'm trying to enjoy the content for what it is and I do love motorcycle racing, but these vids are just very meh. Maybe some slick edits or a standardized format could help, but even then you might become to specialized for the majority of the grumble subs that this channel has. Wish I could give better advice than boo from the nose bleeds. Still subbed though so...something's working haha
i can kinda understand...but... this is not the BvG show, nor is it Fagan for president. it is a combined effort. maybe BvG, since he is not on the isle throw some other contet inbetween, to keep the "not into racing" crowd pleased. yeah, just my 2 cents
