2017 Triumph Street Triple RS Review | Road + Track Test 

The state of so-called "motorcycle reviews" on RU-vid leaves a lot to be desired. The majority of these channels provide zero real information about the bikes they "test", and offer up what amounts to a "reaction video" of them riding some motorcycle a friend let them borrow, or one were loaned by a shop they duped into believing they are some internet superstar/motorcycle god. 44 Teeth on the other hand does it right, with a (for me) perfect blend of humor, and legitimate information about the bikes they test. Thank you gentleman. Keep it up. TLDR: 44Teeth is the shit

That thing sounds brilliant

I went and testrode this bike last Thursday, having only this video to give an inkling of what to expect, and honestly I don't think any form of media could do the bike justice. I almost traded in my '07 Daytona then and there, but the price to pay is still too damn high for me right now. Hands down the smoothest bike I've ever ridden. Has the power of my daytona with bucketloads more torque, a much more confidence inspiring chassis and suspension and amazing electronic aids makes it my new favourite bike of all time. It has double the MPG of my bike, and a similarly sized tank with the ability to actually see how full the tank is and how many miles are left is so useful. The only faults I found were the blurry mirrors due to vibration and the difficulty of getting the kick stand down. That's it. Nothing else can come close now and it makes me depressed whenever I sit on my Daytona and think about how much better this bike is.

Very enjoyable review. I like the format of a sit-down chat with on-bike clips dropped-in. The 'Triple looks fantastic value.

In 2009, during the 2nd tour of the Pyrenees my 50 yr old spine cried enough. My trusty ZX-6R was traded for a new Street Triple. I still have it as it does everything I want from camping touring to hooning around the lanes, it's never let me down so i'm keeping this one till I retire.

I own the 2018 765 RS and it is honestly the most versatile bike I’ve ever ridden. Completely lovely to live with, but it puts such a smile on my face at the same time. Such a brilliant thing

Thank you. Great honest review. I have the R version and it’s the best street bike I’ve ever owned. Refined yes, but properly fast as well. Anything above 8k and this bike jumps to attention. Plus I like it’s more understated looks.

Cracking review and great edit, sound was much better on this one too. Just those Drift shots chaps that 4k drift can't come soon enough, I hope it finishes the only weakness in these vids or you boys need to get on the GoPro's. That's said it's still way better than I can knock out.

Curious about this: When you go to a track launch, does the factory prepare the bikes with different pads and brake fluid to prevent overheating?

Just watched MCN's review of this same bike at the same launch.....I bang on about it, but MCN is pony compared to 44Teeth.

I've got a 2014 Street Triple R on the PCP and it's due to go back in June. I was planning on chopping it in for a Speed R and then they made this.........more power than my current bike, less weight, electrowizardry and a load of bling? Ooh yes please!!!! I'll be heading off to my local dealer to put down my deposit this week. :-)

Is there any way to get rid of the lag on the ride by wire throttle? I rode one yesterday and love the bike but hated the throttle lag. Anyone know what was the last year street triple that didnt have ride by wire?

I wonder if that top end over 8K rpm will be available in the other versions of the street triple with the lower spec engines. How will these compare with the MT-09 since they would be closer price wise, that I would like to know.

So would you go new Triple or 2nd hand/discounted S1000R

Question: I is the R-version better for street-use only? I'm leaning towards the RS, because of the overal better components. I like the mirrors better and I want a quickshifter and maybe an exaust. But, I'm not planning on taking it to the track. So I worry that the RS' suspension might be a little bit too stiff for the road, and the brakes too hard. Also the torque kicks in lower on the R.

This bike looked like the answer to all my questions. But with less low end and what you said about the suspension / low speed throttle I'm not so sure anymore.. or am I just nit picking at this point? I ride whenever I can, my gf loves to go pillion. We occasionally go on longer rides (400 miles) Yet I need something that can bang it out in the twisties and give some sort of contention to 1000cc's. How was the wind resistance Fagan? Fagan or Chris do you have any other suggestions?

That dash makes the thing on my MT-10 look straight out of the 00's... I might have to go back to Triumph eventually, no rush though, I'm currently loving the crossplane insanity and dirty noises from the de-cat exhaust. I really did love my previous '13 STR though, it was good at touring and pestering 1000cc bikes round Cadwell Park.

What are they like for tall people long term? I'm 6 foot 6 and struggling to find a modern 'sport' bike that is fun but not cramped. Been looking at these, mts, z1000 and cb1000

Interesting that you say weight in the front makes it feel more confident, to me atm it seemes the other way round would be cool if you would share some riding technique and experiences

Y'all freaking rocked that review, as always. Actually, any chance on a suspension and breaks brake down? You lot seem to be the only guys to go more into depth about that stuff but it's still all witchcraft and wizardry as to which is better and why.

That's the most aggressively I've ever seen Al ride on a launch. What a brilliant bike! It makes me wonder if there is a point to the £15k I spunked on a 1200cc supernaked!
