Strangely I think this will appeal to single males or females who want road presence and massive luxury, but with the ability to go camping, surfing, mountain bike riding or whatever - coool and awesome
Robbie Sheppard yeah I know few single men who buy these so they can travel for camping and going to hikes etc. They say it offers better comfort and practically than suvs and/or their XL versions
Nice review. Much better production quality than most smaller sources. We got the SXL 8-passenger. Gives up the lounge seats (baby carriers don't need folding ottomans) and the sun roofs (which we never use anyway). In exchange, saves a little money, and gives us that extra seat for occasional use. I removed the middle seat, just storing it on a shelf most of the time, but it's there if we need it, and without it there, big kids can pass through to the third row without having to flip/fold anything. Glad they made the Tech available with 8-passenger for 2016.
I bought a 2020 Kia Sedona LX+ and very happy with it overall. Great price and value when you compare it to the other new Minivan offerings. It's roomy, good tech and performance. The only thing I don't like much is the fuel economy. There's a Eco mode, but I don't notice any difference with it on or off. It's not surprising it guzzle gas, so be ready lol
I,m 61 years old and single. I am looking to travel the country alone with my dog. I want one of these new Kias big time. I would ad a fold away 19" computer monitor and DVD player on the back of the front console. Put a good satllelite antenna on it and I would love it
Great review. Pretty much mirrored my impression when I test drove this Sedona. I do like the floor mounted rear DVD entertainment system. The ceiling mounted ones like the others are better but they have a major flaw of blocking the driver's rear vision. Also it's a bit more strenuous for the rear passengers to look up than to look down. The non-removable and non-stowable second row seats is a serious shortcoming.
The short wheelbase 2nd gen Sedona was made for at least 3 years, if not 4 years. I have a 2009 short wheelbase Sedona and I love it. Previously had a 2005 Sedona, and can't get over how the Sedona has evolved over time.
You are very correct! It is a fantastic van and I get 22.6 mpg city and I don't know what highway mpg is because we don't drive on the highway much. Quick test for ya to try......turn the steering all the way left and right and get on the throttle and see if your front axles make a cracking noise. I have 67,000 km on our 2016 and I'm on my 4th set of axles and waiting for the 5th seat to arrive at the dealer. There's a defect and Kia is investigating, dealer has to send our axles away. I first discovered our issue when I made a quick dash to get into a parking space at Costco. That was at 12,000 km. The dealer found 3 more vans on the lot with bad axles and had to order a set.
you didnt mention that the radio records the top 6 presets. Its an awesome feature. when you switch between those presets it will start at the beginning of the song.
i like this car and i think the reason why they have a little opening to the sun block thing is because if you are curious you can look out of the window so ya ._.
You can pull a lever and that'll collapse the seat, then push it forward for additional cargo space unlike other minivans where you have to take the whole seat out like the Sienna or the Odyssey, or stow them into the floor like the Chrysler vans.
Hi Mark! I have a lot of vehicles scheduled for testing starting in July :). I try not to publish a list, just because it can change at the last minute and I like to keep you guys guessing ;). Be sure to check out the Facebook page and my Instagram sofyan_bey to see all the current car in the fleet :) -Sofyan
That rear seat screen drives me crazy. $1,000 bucks for that. I can legit get myself an Iphone X or 2 high quality Samsung tablets for my kids. Like I am blown and shocked
Sofyan- Seems like Kia didn't bother to give much thought to the rear seat entertainment/setup past the lounge chairs. The lost of heated rear seats in a top-drawer model, the 3rd row comfort, and ambiance in general seems to had taken a, err, backseat in the product planning. Sooo...when can we expect that Pacifica test!?! Preferably a loaded Limited for an apples-to-apples comparison, but I suspect the Touring-L will be the be the big volume seller.
Also, I'd love to see the following tests: Lexus GS w/ 4cyl. Infiniti Q50 Red Sport 400 Cadillac CT6 3.0T Cadillac XT5 3.6 AWD Porsche Macan S/GTS Chevy Cruze And for shits and giggles: Ram 1500 Rebel!
+Redline Reviews AWESOME! And I forgot, you've already done the Cruze! I know that you are jumping at the bit to get a hold of the gorgeous new Mazda CX-9, so I'll be awaiting!!
Kia nailed it with this van. The model he has is a high trim level but it's not the better trim to purchase IMO. We have the SX and it's loaded like that van except for the navigation and those stupid seats. Those seats can't be heated because they move too much for the connection. They go left/right and foreword/backward. Our 8 passanger model has heated rear seats and I would argue they are better because you get a center section for drink holder also.
Would have bought it if there were 4 wheel drive version due to the weather in Canada. I went for Sorento and liked it a lot. Still if they add AWD version, would definitely but one.
ronald lazar Both my kids have tablets & headphones and both them were cheaper than a $1500 entertainment package. When I had a grand caravan with dvd, the kids could never agree on what to watch so tablets are the way to go. The Sedona also has a 110v receptacle in the second row so everything charges while we are rolling down the road.
The pacifica is fugly.Id much rather get this because unlike hyundai/kia chrysler products have some of the worst reliability and thier vehicles are lackluster
+Jdogg Lock you're just a hater and last time I checked Kia and Hyundai are crappy cars. Remember Chrysler invented the minivan segment, so deal with it.
+Jaylen Bond I dont see what makes any car better than the other.I wouldnt buy a chrysler because of reliability but tge pacifica seems like a better value than this topped out.Although I am too young to know anything about cars
+JustLucky What is this idiot doing spamming lies in RU-vid, he knows that he doesn't have any friends, and this racist thinks India doesn't have cars. Lol 😂😂😂😂😂
This Kia is definitely worth a look if you're (unfortunate enough to be) in the market for a minivan. But- that new Chrysler Pacifica is going to blow every other minivan out of the water! Especially the Hybrid Pacifica, that's going to be a game-changer.
Matthew Palanca: not if you get into accident or somebody else runs into you. so having two sun roofs are better for safety reasons than a moonroof. my moms old 2009 Lexus RX 350 had a moon roof, and a guy in a 2002 F150 ran a red light at 38 mph while trying to make a sharpe turn and he slid right to the passenger side of the car. basically causing that moon roof to crack. surprisingly the body of my moms Lexus only received minor damage. his vehicle got messed up, and it took them awhile to get him out of that F150. my mom had some minor injuries mostly her wrist, but the seatbelt held her in place, but that had guy his ribs crushed. but there was no saving that moon roof, it shattered once she got out of the car. don't get me wrong moon roofs look cool and everything, but it's more for styling than it is for practical reasons. also when your driving a vehicle that has a moon roof, there's a bit more vibration and wind noise that comes in. so i think Kia was smart by putting in two sun roofs and it looks just as nice.
Yeah it's quite sad how far the automotive industry has moved in the tech side of things but fuel economy over the last 20 years has barely improved at all
+Moaiz Shahzad Fuel economy actually has improved a lot but with safety regulations requiring more safety features that weigh a lot and Americans demanding bigger and better equipped vehicles that weigh more, the improved fuel efficiency is wasted on all of that extra weight these engines are lugging around.
Chrysler's overall reputation is nowhere the same class as the name plates mentioned. Sorry, you will never convince me enough to buy a Chrysler. I am in the process of picking out a new car to replace my 2007 Sienna. It seems to me, for a mid level trim vehicle, the LX trim can be had around 30K out-the-door. That is, with sun shades on rear seatings, automatic sliding doors, beverage cooling compartments, and most importantly, a 100,000, warranty.
Compared to Sienna. Sedona has a nice wheel and more luxury interior door looks and seats. Sienna is faster, better on gas, better looking front panel. Matter of choice between Sienna/Odyssei/Sedona
Vampire_born_in_2006 I had all the vans out and Sedona was better for us. Fuel economy numbers are all pretty close and Kia quality is up there now. I'm a truck guy so the Sedona just felt better to drive as it had the best seating position and center console shifter. As configured, I got more options and more warranty for $3000 less than the Toyota or Honda.
Sweet Potato ahaha you sound mad that I just commented my opinion. oh well it happens not everyone is going to agree but I still think the shifter is a little ugly it’s not going to change my opinion. Have a nice day sweet potato I love you
For most of us, it doesn't need 276 HP but if you are loaded down with kids, camping supplies and a camper......you'll need 276 HP. Despite the fact that it pulls like a train and it's pretty fun to drive, my wife is still getting over 22 mpg city with our 2016 Sedona SX so I think it's a pretty good deal.
