2016 Mazda MX-5 Miata 2.0L - 0-220km/h Acceleration Test 

well it accelerates very quickly, and the top speed is what questions me bcs my 2016 skoda octavia 1.6 tdi does 212km h n it has 110hp 250nm

aerodynamics for example... my wrx 225hp runs 232 but on the road with up and down and a speedo thats tells a little too much its sometimes over 260 and thats the last Number. But in general it has no high vmax for the hp it has. Not a bad thing.... We had an old Opel vectra 2.0... 115hp and it run 230... if you believed it.

@HomemX10 yupp there are more "slippery" cars in terms of horsepower/topspeed ratio - however you dont buy the mx5 for going flat out on the autobahn all day.

Them end of the power. Ridicolissimo for that price of a car tha say to be "sport". Not to talk about the abarth abort, you can't even watch it, and it's about 40k euros! And I am Italian... But lot of us hate Fiat be cause lives with the help of our state money because simple it's a bunch of idiots linked with politicians and not able at all to make even decent cars.

I have an MX-5 RF, with the 2 litre engine and 6 speed manual gearbox. You're looking at 2500 rpm in 6th gear, at 100km/h, or exactly 5500 rpm, at 220 km/h. In normal driving, you can expect 6.8 to 8 litres per 100 kays, on 95 RON unleaded petrol. In urban/city driving, expect to use around 9 litres per 100 kays. Great car. I love mine to bits.

2500 rpm @100km/h. I average sub 6 liters per 100 km with highway driving at speeds around 100-120. really happy.

+Chris723 Clio is turbo charged, mx-5 is natural aspirated that's why. You can have a more intense driving feeling and better sounds with natural aspirated engines though.

For example renault clio RS 2010 has a 2l 200hp engine with no turbo and a manual

+Chris723 Never had anwhere near 200 hp when measured on dyno. This Mazda on the other hand seems to do much better than its 160 hp claim would suggest. Also the emission standards have moved from the 2010 so you can't built same engines anymore. For example Honda had 180+ hp 1,6 engines in the late 90's. Motor Trend measured this Mazda at 14,5s @ 151,6 km/h for quarter mile. You would have been lucky to break 16s with 2 litre Clio 197/200. Part of the trick is lightweight body, more than 200 kg lighter.

I have a '16 ND GT and stock for stock the ND is the better car imho. It's lighter, has chassis technology on par if not exceeding that of the S2K's now and has a 14:1 high compression GDI motor and is a way quicker car in the wet, looks substansially better inside and out imho The S2K is also not a car you can take to your Honda dealer anymore and make them fix it if something breaks on it warranty wise.
