This Sunday I can present to you the full Drive & Sound review of the recently facelifted 2015 / 2016 Mercedes-Benz CLS 500 Shooting Brake 4Matic that pumps out 408 hp and 600 Nm of torque. This actually is the second time that I am able to drive the 500 engine with its 4.7 liter V8 Bi-Turbo and I must truly say that I had a completely wrong opinion about this motor....it is a masterpiece! I think that under everyday conditions its almost as fast as the 5.5 V8 out of the AMGs, at least its bloody fast compared to the 400er engine. And there is one major advantage to the AMGs, the 9G-Tronic transmission which shifts faster and keeps the revs down on long Autobahn runs. Talking about fuel consumption, the low end-torque helps to drive this car as a big diesel and my overall test-consumption on 2.600 km was 11.2 liters / 100 km, rather low for this performance. This particular CLS Shooting Brake comes in a white pearlescent paint and features this gorgeous tan leather interior pack with massage seats. Together with the Aromatic suspension long distance ride comfort is almost on pair with the S-Class....just phenomenal.
