madmax2069 they run the firebirds and camaros so they can win the bump to pass heat races and make some money. derby doesnt pay shit. but if you dont put your car in the derby then you will never live it down.
this has nothing to do with the video but... I live in england and I went to a demolition derby\banger race event in the end 2 people were sent to hospital, a limo lost its front axle, and a Volvo was split in half
This must be a Newfie demolition derby, their driving is awful! What the hell are they doing driving forward? You gotta drive in reverse so your engine doesn't die as quickly from front-end collisions. My dad won plenty of derbies in his old days, and it wasn't from driving like that lemme tell ya!
Every derby video on here, has several cars driving front on, even the bigger citys. Its purpose here in Musgrave Hr is to entertain the crowd and hopefully raise money for their local fire brigade. Who are all volunteers, by the way. Musgrave Hr fire brigade has been holding this derby, every yr, since the early 80's and it is also apart of the community festival which is held every yr. Maybe our derby drivers are not professional like your father, but what they lack in professionalism they make up with big hearts. Who ever wins the derby only gets a small prize, but like I said, it is meant to raise money for the local fire brigade. So relax a little, enjoy, and remember if you keep rear ending your car in a derby all of the time, you just might get something stuck in it.
Well, if it's for a good cause I'm all for it! It is entertainment indeed :) and who doesn't love to see cars getting beat up? Plus my dad wasn't a pro...just small town derbies like this
Wow the last car I would pick for a derby is a firebird had that model in high school when it was brand new but I guess the front end is lower than most Looks like a hell of a time
that sucked, use the back don't hold the throttle on so much you blow your own hoses hit someone drive ahead 15 feet, not the whole track, you guys need practice
That guy in the firebird is stupid, who the hell would use a weak subframe Car in a derby? Like one it's a car going up in value and two one big hit and it's doomed. Pure lack of tactic
I posted a video of even a 4th gen camaro doing very well in a derby. Camaros and mustangs are tough. I got best hit. Though I would not use a firebird or camaro against full size cars no way!
lol I love how everyone puts down the fire bird.. look up some real demolition derbys those cars are actually pretty hard if you can build them... this is just a back yard chain and bang.. but if you wanna see some real demos with real cars look up bash for cash or fall brawl... those are real derbys with real cars... this video is clearly just for fun.. but the pros build them a little different... I have ran a fire bird and a Camaro on several occasions and let me tell u... they are hard if you can build them
I agree with this statement, but there’s one thing you need to know about these cars: They are often seen with rotting frames from the road salt Newfoundland and Labrador uses.
