Porsche has never really built a bad-driving car. Even though this platform is shared with a front-biased Audi, Porsche can tune a chassis. The cheap Porsche is perfectly acceptable. It wouldn't be a modern German car if everything worked. Regarding the lack of safety features that are standard on a Mazda for half the price, Porsche knows new buyers aren't cross-shopping Mazdas so they can nickel and dime their buyers for everything. Nice GT3RS.

Is there a good reason to consider a used Macan S rather than a used Giulia Ti AWD, other than trunk space and perceived reliability?

Two different cars, one is a sedan and one is an SUV, Stelvio would be a comparison

Porsche has a better dealer network, parts are more common, German cars are slightly less unreliable than Italian cars.

I went with the Giulia fwiw. Had radar cruise control and was cheaper and more fun to drive imo. I found the Giulia when I cross shopped the Macan with the Stelvio and then found out Alfa Romeo makes a sedan.

I think the Germans still have not figured it out that in America infotainment and cup holders are the most important features not quality, performance or looks.

If the Macan isn't more than 2x as good to drive as a turbo CX-30... That's sad. The turbo CX-30 is a "nice" car. It doesn't drive like anything special. It doesn't light any fires in your soul. You can tell whether or not you want to buy a CX-30 turbo by sitting in it parked. It doesn't give you anything more when you drive it. I guess that answers my question. No, from a driver's perspective, there is no reason to consider a Macan over a Giulia Ti Q4

There’s a big reason to take the Giulia over the Macan, imo. I found the Giulia to be more fun to drive, it’s lighter better on gas and cheaper than the Macan. Also, the AWD system in the Macan is expensive to maintain. And in Giulia forums they are saying the 2.0L is pretty reliable. I think it’s a hidden gem.

The CX-30 suffers from lifted hatchback syndrome. I really hope the Macan does not.

Nice format change. It'd be cool if your girlfriend had her own commentary segment like she did in this one. My only gripe: the tone thing at 0:03 is painful to my ears. Yeah it's only on for a second or less but it's unpleasant.
