If I did that once I’ve done it a thousand times lying on my back replacing clutches, thank god I’m retired now, I made nearly every move with you Kevin, bloody hard graft, & then people complain about labour prices, it’s hard earned, well done mate
Couldn’t believe all those parts had to come off for that clutch replacement. I’ll be leaving my replacement to someone like Kevin if it ever needs one, mines the same van! Good work, credit where credits due.
I’m glad dudes like him show the public what goes into doing clutches, customers faces when they got told labour price sometimes is priceless, like it’s a 2 min job 🤣
Quality work!! I'm a gas engineer and replace the cylinder on my clutch pedal, it took me more than 2 hours. 2 litres of fluid and and £60 in equipment that I didn't know how to use, 3 youtube videos.. just to bleed it! I have no idea how you know how each and every car comes apart and goes back together! Quality work!
@@WMCS tuff with out a ramp, this one the mark 3 Renault doesn't seem to be any videos about on changing the steering rack, problems with the 4 year warranty not many people have done things on these ones, can't seem to find any videos on the rack,,
youtube algorythm is madness, im sat here eating kebab meat stoned to bits watching a guy who is blatantly a machine change a clutch, cant beat it, subscribed !!
Used your video to talk me through repairing my gearbox. Wow, you really have my respect. Not looking forward to putting it back in. Think I’ll get a few months gym membership before I tackle it 👏
kevin I'm glad i didn't give you a call on that day, what a big job that was mate and many miles on that shiny clutch plate, great job and thumbs up from me buddy👍
Top job again Kevin!! I have not had the joy of doing one of these only lots of the previous van's so it's was great to see how a professional does it! On his back too! I cannot believe how easy you make it look lifting that gearbox up whilst lying down and fitting it! Must have hulk dna! Also not using pressure bleeders too We always use them but I keep getting mixed reviews on them fair play for bleeding that without one! Thanks again for taking the time to produce these video's, I replaced a clutch and flywheel on a landrover discovery 3 this week and that was a bit of a fiddle to say the least! Keep up the good work and thank you once again
That was nice Kevin, have had a few of these front ends off on these for alternator jobs and starters , looking forward to ripping one apart when I have to do one 👍👍👍
Grate video, clear camera angles. Best clutch replacement video I have seen and all done on the roadside. 🙌 👏 when mine needs doing this video is where I will go for references, Thank you so much. 🙏
Absolute machine! Just done one on ramp. Wouldn't like to do it on floor. Would probably pull front end like you if I did. Watched to make sure I align flywheel correctly haha 👍
Excelente trabajo Kevin como decimos aquí en México es un verdadero alacrán esa furgoneta pero como siempre lo hiciste y de una manera genial saludos desde mexico
Vivaro B clutch in a car park. Absolute machine! Well done. Just done an egr on one and nearly totalled the engine . Had to cut it out in pieces. Not an easy van to work on
@@WMCS I had a Citroen Synergy many moons ago.. Unless subframe is removed from car, you cant get gearbox out . You can only pull it back towards nearside wheel arch and hopefully get clutch kit in past it and then refit box..
Great work Kevin I have the same traffic van. I've been waiting close to a month now on parts and installation. I'm from Australia. Taking a long time for mechanic to Change the whole clutch, master and slave. 😁
Done this on Vauxhall’s vivaro vans same job your amazing taken this on and on your back as well . Sod to get in even with two men standing up trying to get the box in between the sub frame and over the first motion shaft. You certainly earn your money the hard way young man.
@@user-ip6nw6ws7iа понятно..а вы откуда ..мы тут в англии а вы,,, я так любитель иногда на нпарсмоптере хорошо отодвинул коробку и все на ндо вытаскивать))
I've got the vivaro and I carnt believe how many parts have to be dismantled im attempting my timing chain at some point but now I'm dreading it Hats of to what you do on your own though
Big job. Well done. You ever noticed on these vans sometimes the clutch pedal sticks to the floor. Exactly the same way it did when you were bleeding it. Common issue. Also how did it drive with the old flogged dmf?
Good Skills , I like your idea of using those interlocking mat's, beats rolling around in shit that's for sure. What make is that long reach ratchet wrench, looks like a brilliant bit of kit & want to replace my air driven one
Great job ok for this vehicle you need to strip whole front because i use to have Nissan primastar 2006 on that you need to strip whole from the bottom to get excess to the gearbox
Nice job Kevin but it's a real leaker, I guess he didn't care about the leaks, just wanted a clutch. It won't rust though. Do you charge extra when you're covered in oil.
Fist thing first...nice job doing there mate... Second thing...i will need one advice if you can... I replace all clutch kit and now I have some issues with gear leaver...sometimes when I try to put in reverse is not go...and with 1 gear doing same...and clutch pedal is feel strange...any advice please 🙏
That’s a great job man. Well done, if you don’t mind me asking two things, Why do you remove all the front bumper and things , and also how did you adjust the self adjusting clutch-pressure plate?
Fair play doing that on your back! Not sure many would tackle this job without a ramp. I done a clutch, flywheel and gearbox replacement on my own leon and swore never again too much hassle doing it on the ground 😂 Just out of curiosity how many miles are on your van?
Hello bro Great job And the gearbox seems to be very heavy, i would Say 90kg at least. Juste one question if you have a moment to answer me, i Saw in this vidéo ,you have used 2 Milwaukee guns , the smallest is it strong for everything ? Or the bigest is necessary?
What an absolute ball ache of a job. As someone else said I cannot believe how much stuff you had to remove to get the job done. I reckon a re-shell would have been easier !
I work at a fiat commercial dealership, that same engine and gearbox is in the fiat talent vans. Fiat recommended removing engine and gearbox to change the clutch. Nightmare of a job.
I watch so many of your films and I do not want to believe that there have never been problems with a broken bolt, with a pin, for example, the box cushion is torn, damaged axle shaft seal that the oil is pouring ... and everything runs perfectly for you ... how it is .. .?
I have often wondered this myself.. Are their jobs where everything just goes wrong?. And are there jobs where the car is so bad that despite the customers instructions , it would be far better off being scrapped..
it seems like hes so specialised for this (clutch replace) he prob did enough of them to prevent most of unnecassary mistakes´that causes the problems in first place. like myself im doing Range Rover Sport Turbocharger replacements frequently after the 5th one u basically know what u need to do to get it done correct, with no pain, and in an acceptable time, and believe me the Turbocharger/exhaust manifold problems for Range Rovers arnt a joke work xD it basically SUCKS
HI. Very impressive your work, I have done some jobs like that on several cars I had, but in a small garage with no hydraulic lift also. But of course I took longer time, as because not so much experience like you. I ask if you have any video with Renault Megane 3 1.6 DCI engine? This f...... Renault's are difficult, to work, to reach something you have to disassemble almost all car.
You've obviously done this before, what a pain in the arse, my clutch pedal has developed a click every time the pedal comes back up, any idea what the problem could be, cheers for the tutorial 👍
hello I have an opel vivaro and the reverse gear is hard for me and the first one also has the new change of the original valve and I have greased the linkage and it is still the same with the Hard reverse gear and the first one regular what I know is that I ask for a clutch without turning on the vehicle and go into reverse without problem I start the vehicle and go out without problems that is the trick I do or else I go from third gear to reverse and thus I manage to get into reverse gear this time with the vehicle on I change from third gear to reverse and it is solved I am asking you because I see that you have experience that could be some advice, God willing, I use my van as a livelihood, well, thank you and regards.
Amazing job. Took me almost 10 hours to get mine out. Found out someone was already in there. New pressure plate, new clutch plate, failed DMF. NOw is where I need your help. Does that assembly have a pilot bearing? The drive spline on mine is much smaller than the opening in the crank. Seems like something is missing. What can you tell me please?
No pilot bearing on these. The output shaft bearing on the box are quite common for failure as a result. 2.9mm of rock across the flywheel is acceptable
@@robertfoster5270 Thanks for the answer. It was a long time in the waiting. IN the mean time, ordered a "new" pilot bearing, which does nothing. And it has the same 4 mm difference in size as the old one. The local garage had been taking of some similiar 1.9 L engine with the same trans, and there was a "real" pilot bearing with no play on the input shaft of the box. Waited 10 days for the "dealer only" item to come and it turns out exactly as you said. 4mm difference in size between the internal diameter of the dummy bearing and the input shaft on the trans. What is it there for at all....?
