Every car, every van is a winner.................Britain can rest easy, they got the very best mobile mechanic on the street. Thanks Kevin, man you are the best !🙂
This blokes a ledgend. Ive been a mechanic 20 years and still check out his videos for tips and tricks before tackling big clutch jobs . These are a ball ache at the best of times but made 100 X easier after watching this .
Kevin you are the best in the UK. What a load of work just to get the gearbox out, the bloody manufacture made it labour intensive so the dealer would make a lot of money doing the replacement. And they could make a clutch design to last the life of the vehicle but they don't.
This Nissan takes the cake when it comes to the number of parts and panels that have to be moved just to get a clutch repair done. It would have taken me a week or more to do it as a DIY at home, with mugs and mugs of hot chocolate, a Haynes manual and lots of patience.
Dude you are a machine. Best vid ever just put clutch in a trafic followed your exact system, only mine is semi automatic. I specialise in the robot units repair reprogram. And man how you roll that box out and in again? You must have arms of steel. 😅 anyway dude thank you. !!
I've done this job twice on my van, after the first replacement LUK friction plate failed after 5k, and fair play you sir make it look easy lifting that box back in on your own!!
Thankyou mate. My local official Renault dealer in Australia refused to do this job because he said my 15 year old van was too old and his mechanics weren't trained for it... I kid you not!!!??? Found another Euro specialist but was quoted 20 hours labour and a $4500 bill, on a van which is only worth $6000. I guess that's why so many of these vans end up at the wreckers in Oz. At least watching your video gives me hope that with a bit of time and patience it is something I could do myself. Cheers 🍻
@Kevin-Albert Williams the work you do is impressive, you are very careful and professional. greetings from spain for you and yours keep it up and never lack work
Hi Kevin. An update to my previous comment. My friend and I replaced the clutch in my Trafic last week with your video as guidance. Although it still was a very challenging task, thanks to you, we successfully completed it! We changed the clutch and slave cylinder for $650, instead of the $4500 I was quoted by a mechanic. I really can't thank you enough. You deserve all the accolades you receive in your comments. Ian 🙏
Bonjour très très beaux travaille calme sans vous énervé je me suis abonnée à votre chaîne le travaille et consciencieux dans le respect de la mécanique Merci pour le partage de la vidéo et en plus très très bien filmer 👍
ive never put grease on the dowels before and never had a problem with them, but yesterday i did a gearbox and jeseus... the shaft went into the clutch splines within 2 minutes, but the god dam dowels. in future i think ill start doing what you do with that red lithium goo,
Really great video. Well edited and full of important detail. I need to do my 2007 2.5CDTI. I helped my mechanic last time to do my clutch. (He gave me a discount for helping) This seems pretty much the same in all areas. PF6 gearbox I think. This time i need to do the gearbox syncro's 3rd and 4th. I will do that myself, but are there any other details for the 2.5 that spring to mind? Many thanks!!!
You know when you undo the gearbox mount and drop the engine on the jack to get to the other gearbox bolts... does that mess up the dogbone gearbox mount or the upper engine mount?
I've got a Renault Trafic 2.0L 2008 6 speed. Finding it hard to get into 1st and reverse. I've found if I select 6th gear first it usually goes into 1st or reverse OK. Would you say clutch or gearbox?
How do u do it unreal to watch that van needed much more work on it.Don,t think they look after it at all has it ever had a full service or do they wait till it breaks down .Hell another great bit of work cheers.
No mate. I just prime it with the bleed nipple open. But that’s a brilliant idea tho to have another bottle filled with fluid so it does not suck air in.
Great videos on these Trafic/Vivaro/Primastar vans. I have to do it on my Vivaro soon and your videos will help me immensely! But I can't for the life of me figure out if I need the 240mm or the 242mm clutch. I tried checking the kits in your videos out but all the parts stores tell me I need the 240mm version. You on the other hand used a 242 on the silver Vivaro (and I can't figure out which version was used here) which is shown online as the right one for the semi-automatic gearbox. I have a 2009 114hp 2.0 6 speed manual though.. would you be able to help me out?
Replaced my clutch myself, literally followed every step with care.. Now when revving my engine and it reaches 2k rpm I start hearing squeeking noise.. Once it passes 2k rpm the noise goes away.. Any help what could that be? Got no issues changing gears and clutch pedal feels ok. Good job tho, love your videos!
