Nice install. This one sounds pretty good. I bought another brand 3.5 in with dual 2.5 pipes out. The drone inside the cab was intolerable and I wound up removing it. It was just too annoying. It sounded like a small Honda instead of a truck. So if anybody is gonna do this make sure you like this sound according to the video or hear it installed in someones elses Taco.
Watching you guys do this stuff is fascinating! Super educational and interesting. I hope your channel blows up because not many people can be personable while filming videos like this!
I try my best to teach I think I’ve told u before but because sometimes when I search for a how to video they don’t explain anything or show anything lol that’s why I always try and do it as detailed as possible lol, thanks friend that means a lot :)!! It really is a little more tuff and time consuming when doing the install and filming lol
Cool. I went with the TRD exhaust, since I wanted a bit quieter sound. The MBRP sounds great, but too loud for old farts like me… love the work you do on your channel!
I have rusted bolts so it's gunna be fun taking those suckers out!!! UPDATE: I recommend a breaker bar. Broke those suckers out of their rust without damaging bolts and I was able to reuse them with the exhaust. Its been about a Month and I'm loving the MBRP exhaust sound. Great Product would recommend.
Yea it was highly recommend to me and I have to thank mbrp for this but yea I love it a lot the video doesn’t capture the actual sound but I’ve heard other tacos with exhaust and so far in my opinion this is the best and most beastly sound, (until of course like I mentioned u put the truck in high high rpms then it’s raspy) and there’s not really a drone especially since the Tacoma’s like to shift so much it always tends to stay quite on the freeway u can make it quite of course until u step on it again now if your cruisin and the Rpms stay around 3500k ish u get some drone but nothing to bad the cold start is honestlythe best that’s when it’s the loudest lol then after the trucks warm it tames down
always tryin to pick little things up from your channel dude! not too knowledgeable about cars myself but your vids are always sick. about to get my fog lamps cleaned up. was looking at your old replacement vid haha. keep em comin!!
Dude I seriously appreciate that man!!! If u were closing I’d do them for you man lol we could do a collab lol!!, thanks bro I appreciate that :)!!!! Means a lot !!
That exhaust is a beauty with the tip. Great install man it really dresses the truck up..Good shit bro I want one of those hats lol. Dropped a big like for ya
My friend :) that is so cool I’m honored my friend any questions u have let me know 👍👍👍 r u going with the 4x4 or 4x2? Sr5, trd off road or sport or TRD Pro? :)
Jesse Rizo i want the SR5 4x4 not too much electronics but since I’m buying a used one and they are almost the same price prolly getting g a trd off road 4x4
I know it’s a newer vehicle, but you should still change the gasket. That stock gasket is formed to the stock exhaust. You might be okay, but it’s safe to change it so there’s no leakage or fumes.
@@JesseRizo No problem. I'm contemplating getting a 2023 Tacoma with the 6 cyl. engine, so I'm looking at Tacoma videos and how they can be improved from stock factory specs like tuning, lifting, wheels, tires, etc. I'm not too sure about the longevity of turbos on 4 cyl. engines or any engine for that matter. So, I'm thinking of picking up 6 cyl., no turbo Tacoma, which will last forever. I think Toyota has made a mistake with the 4 cyl. turbocharged Tacoma's and the Tundra's.
Hi Jesse!!! The exhaust tip is much bigger from the side by side comparison!!! Good point on saying that the car needs to be cold!!! As well as the ground!!! Lolol I use WD40 on squeaky doors, on wooden items in my house lololol!!!! I love it!!! Thank you for showing how to get it out if done alone!!!! Good point on putting the exhaust tip on last so it won’t get scratched!!!! It really does look high quality Jesse!!! Wow!!! It really does sound good!!! Jesse!!! You both did a fantastic job and thank you for giving us a sound test!!! Your so right it does sound like a V8!!! I soo loved your video Jesse!!! Xoxo Pam 💝💝💝💝 ooh omg!!! The bloopers were hilarious
Thank you Pam your a superstar on support seriously lol!!!! No matter how long my video is you always watch to the end lol!!! And yea it forsure made it sound beefier lol Thank you Pam :)!
Lmfao I wish hahahah it makes it look so much better though I might get it painted black since I’m tryin to get rid of all the chrome on the truck ;) I got my grill installed finally I’ll post that next week and thanks my friend :)!!!
You welcome bro :) just happy to help, and yes but in my opinion it’s the best I’ve heard compare to other brands :) thanks for watching I really appreciate it
You guys are the shit.! Super job on the exhaust, Sounds awesome as well. I just bought a 2018 Tacoma v6 and just getting started with all the mods etc.
That’s mainly why I purchased it to make the truck sound more beefy. Performance wise no exhaust for any car or truck will generally give u any without a tune but possibly like 3hp which I can’t feel anything to be honest hope that helps
thanks you for showing what you do to everyone can learn from you okay thank good. and I have Toyota Tacoma 2008 v 6 I live to order one too can you tell me how I can get one just like that one okay thanks you
Yeah man I've got the same exhaust on my 2016 SR5 and let me tell you I agree with you 100% it is the best sounding for the money exhaust there is out there for the Tacoma and buddy of mine help me put it on and straightforward can't say enough good things about it it's just a damn good sounding exhaust makes the taco come to life
I’m happy to hear someone agrees with me lol I have two other friends that also installed it on there’s and they said the same lol!!, forsure doing it with a buddy makes it so much easier, I agree lol makes me want to drive my truck even more lol!! Thanks so much for watching my friend
I noticed you didn't torque the flange bolts. My MRPB is in the box waiting for installation which will be my 32nd mod. Do you happen to know the torque specs for the flange bolts?
I don’t rmemeber the torque spec to be honest it’s been to long lol but what I did to get it I just called Toyota and asked for service and I asked them
You are the man🙌🙌🙌💪 Why do you make it look so easy??👀😬 Just get your 🔧 wrench and tighten it up huh😂😂 too easy fam😄 thanks for sharing.. I always enjoy❤❤❤
Thank you I’ve since changed the intro to something a little different I’m sure u saw it on my newest video 👍, thanks I seriously really appreciate the positive comment 👍
I’m sure you will love this one Jeffrey not just saying it but I always get compliments on it and my other friend with the red Tacoma (older video) he’s running the same exhaust and one of my co workers on his Tacoma it just sounds good lol and for the price it’s awesome lol!!, thank you though bro for supporting I appreciate it a lot!!
I have a couple more installs coming for my dogs o right now I’m running LEDs but I’m the next week or so ima change them to pods I’ll make sure to post a how to video on that and also changing my grill for trd pro with a sensor and a couple more parts if I want to stay tuned 👍
Man I’m split on getting this mbrp or leaving it stock. Before my Mustang GT I had a v6 mustang with a roush axleback. It sounded all right, but got rid of it and got my GT with Borla ATAKs which are a blast to rev on all day. Got my Tacoma with the idea of it being my quiet daily driver. But man this sounds really good I guess the v6 trucks have more oomph than v6 cars haha I just might go with mbrp
Great video guys! Just got a 2021 Sport. I always like to do the intake and an exhaust system similar to this however this may be a bit too loud for my taste. Do they offer different mufflers with this system?
Hey what’s up man it got to the point where it was a little loud for me to I ended up switching to this one (link is in the description box of this video) ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2FyUIncMrYY.html R4t and I have a discount code at check out use: JESSERIZO
It does slightly not crazy but it does then on high rpms it gets high pitched on low Rpm it sounds good but this is a loud exhaust just keep in mind, I recommend the r4t here’s the video I made on it ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-2FyUIncMrYY.html this overall has a good tone and isn’t crazy obnoxious d
Only been installed 36 hours but I like it. Not loud, which is what I was going for. I've heard the TRD exhaust in person and the Borla is a touch louder but nothing crazy -- at least to my ears. Good tone to the truck especially in the 3-4k rpm range.
SportsLife386 with this specific exhaust it comes for a long bed so if you have a long bed the process is literally a bolt on but if you have a short bed like me you have to trim off a piece so that’s the only difference so I gues it doesn’t matter because the exhaust will fit it ether way just if you have short bed it’s an extra step 👍 Hope that helps my friend and I have a link in the description box where u can buy it 👍
It’s actually really affordable man it’s about $200 right now and if you want the black powder coated one I think it’s a little more but yea man it sounds good and yes with an intake I’m sure I’m hoping to get an intake soon lol
My brotha! I just ordered one, should be coming in next few weeks. Appreciate all the vids! Although I'm a bit nervous cutting the pipe, since we have a short bed. Is it easy to do? I can rent that saw tool right?
Heck yea man 🤙 once installed let me know your thoughts :)!!, it’s 50/50 it’s a easy process just make sure to get your measurement correct the only thing that makes it hard is when your cutting it wants to run away lol the pipe moves a little so having someone help you hold while you cut will be the best way to be honest 👍 and I would think so maybe Home Depot?
Cool cool, I will be installing soon. I'll let you know how it goes 👍 & this is probably a dumb question, but will be gaining or losing any mpg? I just want my truck to sound bad ass haha
Awesome video Jesse, nice & clean installation. i enjoyed watching the cutting part at 14:14 :)) big thumbs up! p.s, love that hat! it looks good on u :)
Hey are you getting water leaking from the 2 clamp points around the muffler? I am having that issue and I am wondering if that is normal because of the 3 piece design.
Sorry for the late reply n not that I have noticed my friend? Have u tried pushing the exhaust together a little more maybe it’s not sealed correctly or all the way
I had a Flow Master exhaust installed on my 17 SRD & had removed right away. A bit too loud. 😏 I used that exhaust on my 05 Tundra I had before & loved it! Any recommendations for a quieter one for my 17 Tacoma!? Thanks in advance!💙
😌 really lol jk this one is awesome in my opinion If umyou want something similar to this one nice but more quite I would probably do the trd exhaust it has a good amount of sound but it’s not crazy loud and another I heard that isn’t to bad is magnaflow 🤔 you welcome 👍
I know you put the part number there so forgive me if this question is stupid but did you get the "aluminiumized steel" or the stainless steel? I'm debating on stainless or aluminium - I get the occasional snow/salt in Baltimore but not too bad so I guess I'm just curious how the aluminum will hold up.
There’s never any stupid questions my friend that’s how we learn 👍 and it’s aluminized I believe they have another one that u can look into I think it comes powder coated black the muffler part but it’s a little more expensive
Hey Jesse great video! Question did the tech that helped you install this mention anything about welding the pieces together would be better? Anyone recommend welding on instead of using the clamps?
Thanks my friend, Bolt on would be better as the exhaust was made for being a bolt on not a weld on which to me is good it makes things a lot easier and also helps with no having leaks or anything and if u ever want to remove the exhaust it’s just nuts and bolts to remove it instead of welds to break off And that I’ve heard of no my friend
Jesse Rizo Thanks for the quick response! just picked up my 19 Taco. Two nights ago did the pro grill with the help of your video!!! (THANK YOU) Keep up the great tacoma videos!
No problem Juan I try and rely as quick as possible and to everyone lol comments make my day to be honest lol, Congrats my friend :) and welcome aboard!!! Your going to love your truck I’m sure lol!!, Thanks I seriously appreciate that!!! 👍
Dang! That’s nice I have been looking at that for a while. Nice and easy-ish install! Do you know if you can get a black tip? Was thinking of going that route because I’m trying to delete the Crome. Great video bud!
For a Tacoma it actually sounds good lol!!, taking the stock exhaust off was probably the hardest part, and yes they do have it it’s just a little more $ but it looks awesome my friend has it on his red Tacoma (he came out in one of my videos) did a small walk around on it. Thanks my friend 👍😁
No worries Ryan ask as many questions as you need, and no it’s not provided that’s one downside but I’m almost sure it’s not to expensive from the dealership I would’ve purchased one but my truck only has 5k miles so I figured it should be good or else I would’ve replaced it you can tell though when the gasket is worn out
I’m very curious, does the stock tip work on this exhaust I recently purchased the exhaust and it’s been sitting I haven’t installed but I’d love to keep my stock tip would it work?
In all honesty I’m not sure because I know this exhaust pipe is slightly larger then the stock pipe I’d say just give it a try and slip it on and if you do let me know I’d like to know just being curious lol and also let me know what u think of the exhaust in my opinion it’s awesome!!!
hey Jesse, new to your channel...thanks for the video on the MBRP exhaust. I really like the sound that the exhaust has, I know its made by MBRP but is it the Installer Series, P Series, or the XP Series. Thanks man and keep the videos coming
Hey my friend thank you I really appreciate the support & As far as that I’ll be honest I don’t remember lol >_< but this is the direct link to it if you want to check it out? store.mbrpautomotive.com/en/performance-gas/1008-3in-cat-back-single-side-exit-aluminized.html I hope that helps
Great video, i have a question, i have a same mbrp exhaust 3” pipe, what size exhaust tip should i purchase?? 3” inlet or 3.5” inlet?? Coz some says 3” inlet exhaust tip won’t fit on 3” pipe coz its the same size. Help plss.
Hey my friend I have the 3.5 inch tip I’ve heard the same thing I’m sure even if u got the 3inch though u can bend out the side that slips into the exhaust to make it fit but that’s if you have the time or even wanna do custom work lol but the one I have I’m almost sure is the 3.5 inch I left a link to it in the description box I hope that helps
Great review Jesse! Thanks I have 2017 standerd TRD Off Road so you know I can't wain to get this exhaust for it. On another note, where did you get that phone holder having a problem finding something that attaches to the dash or air vents. Thanks again!!!
I'd like to do this on my 2020 Tacoma but I saw a video from Scotty Kilmer and he said that changing the exhaust may messed up the truck's system. What do you think about it
hi jesse, how are you sound good,, i like , i have toyota tacoma 2018, I want mbrp catback exhaust look like you have I want sound like your truck, can you give a part number so I can buy put on my truck please thanks Jesse ,Jesse what different? between mbrp{ s5338p 3inch catback exhaust} AND WITH MBRP T5115 3inch please me know thanks again have a good one!
Hey and I don’t think it will but u can possibly making it fit my going out thebstock exhaustvtip to size of the actual new exhaust so basically spreading open the ends of the stock tip and making it fit into the new exhaust
Hey Jesse, if I remember correctly you mentioned you're from Cali from one of your videos... AB 1824, the mod-exhaust law that just came into play Jan 1st, have you had any trouble with it? Is this system "in compliance" with it? (even though many STOCK exhaust systems are technically in violation of it lmao) I was really considering of getting a different exhaust but because of this new compliance, it had discouraged me from actually going through of upgrading.
Yes sir Iam, in all honesty I just found out about it a couple days ago so I hope my exhaust is ok I believe it has to be under a certain decibal and I think ours is under that, also not 100 percent sure but from what I got was there more after the “race car” type of people like Honda’s or people doing donuts and racing in the streets couple months back it was getting out of control around here and now I gues cops layed down there foot and made the law happen
