Can you still monitor oil life? I was reading through the comments for the previous video and some comments were saying that the wrench icon on the dash was missing. Also, do you know if the low tire pressure notification will still appear on the dash? Have you encountered any OEM features that are missing or inaccessible, other than HondaLink?

@@Troublesomeadam the oil life shows up in the factory settings on the unit, but in Kms, not sure how accurate that is. I get the oil changed in these small turbo engines every 5k miles. The turn by turn navigation instructions have stopped showing. The annoying bit is that these head units do not have an ambient light sensor, they just dim when they receive information from the canbus that lights are on. The screen is still very bright even in the dim setting which is annoying. The canbus integration I feel is still work in progress. Joying keeps asking for feedback. The other major issue is scaling on the big screen. Joying have pushed the Android 12 update, but this remains an issue. You have to change to a lower resolution in developer settings, but then some icons get buggered. This is an issue with Android tablets as well as there is no consistency in size of the screens. If you use original settings of full HD, then the streets are too tiny on Google maps, all buttons on Amazon music and Spotify are too small to safely press without getting distracted. Your car position in Google maps ends up in one corner of the screen and you see almost the whole city on the screen, not useful. I have the model with the factory amp and they sent me the harness to be able to use the factory amp. On taking the OEM unit apart, I see that the amp is pioneer make. On looking up at the wiring diagrams online, the factory unit is connected to the factory amp through digital spdif. However Joying unit uses the front and left RCA output, and through a spdif canbus which they send, connects to the factory amp. Not sure why they have not used the Joying spdif output when that is their unique selling point. They are converting analogue to digital, and in doing that I felt that I have not been able to get the same audio quality despite Joying having a great equaliser. The full DSP on Joying does not work as you are using RCA outputs. I get better sound with VLC or jet audio+ through Android auto on my factory headunit. I was also not sure if the active noise control function of the car is linked to the factory unit, and if it stopped working. It is a great unit, if you want a full Android experience unlocked, and a big full HD screen. I gave up and have taken it out, the Joying is lying in my attic. Their customer service is good. Also everytime you update, it does a clean install, you lose all your settings and data and apps, and you have to start a fresh set up!!!! The 4G connection was good, here in the UK. Be careful when taking off the white clips off the factory unit, these white clips are transplanted to the Joying unit, 4 in number. 2 metal clips on the top. The chassis does not have the provision for the two 8mm factory screws to go in, just held by clips. I was told by people on the other end of the call that my voice was distant when I used the telephone BT feature on Joying. I used an adaptor cable to be able to use the factory GPS antenna, it was about £10, I can post the link if required. The hazard lights button is not that easy to access behind the screen, not sure if that is flagged as an issue during annual testing for roadworthiness. The unit is very fast and will not lag. No doubt they have got a product which no major manufacturers have developed.

@@manishgupta2808 I have a 2021 and when using Android auto my car does the turn by turn in the gauge cluster. With the Joying do you lose that?

@@eddieU yes I lost that function in the instrument cluster. But you can split screen and run 2 apps on the Joying unit side by side.

I think they just say that to cover their butts or something because it does 100% work.

Reach out to Joying directly and see what they have to offer. This one should work for your car though.

I'm kind of a simple guy. This 11.6" one was very impressive though. It's fast and the screen is amazing. I'm a physical volume knob kind of guy though. My daily driver has the 9" OEM looking Joying unit. Still my favorite one overall due to the factory look and aftermarket performance.

If you look at the pic on The Joying website the HVAC controls don't look like that, though they are kind of recessed under the bottom of the radio. I think if you put the HVAC controls in before the radio, since you no longer need the HVAC panel removed to remove the original radio screws, it won't be angled like that. Plus it says the screen can be adjusted, look at the website, the screen is removable and is attached with 4 clips. I'm thinking you can adjust the angle off the screen, but with the HVAC panel stuck in there like that you wouldn't be able to adjust the screen. This looks really nice, would look great in my 2019 CRV. I'm going to look into this.

I lost many functions in instrument cluster. Only 5 out of 15 are still displaying.

I will answer your questions. None of those will work as they are proprietary to Honda head units. It's a trade-off you need to sacrifice losing.

This unit is specific to the Honda CRV, but you could buy the universal 11.6 unit and install it in the Promaster. It would be too big for my liking, but to each their own.

Yes. All the maintenance minder features are built into the isntrument cluster, not the stereo. The stereo just resets things, which it does still do with this unit.

The LX "base model" has this instrument cluster on 2017-2019 models.

I don't think so. You would propose have to put a switch on the red wire, which is the ignition sense wire.

You can run the apps directly on the head unit as long as you are connected to the internet through either a hotspot on your phone or the built in 4g modem and they won't have the music panel on the side. It's only there on Android Auto.

I'm not sure. You should reach out to Joying customer service. I installed this in a LX model. You reset the oil life through the instrument cluster on mine.

The first and second are very important to me at least. My car is a '22 Hybrid, AWD. Joying is very relaxed about it. "Not all OEM functions are supported" Case closed. Please give me a clue what to do.

Yeah I do not think there is any way to get those first 2 back. The stereo is not designed to work with the hybrid. Average fuel economy is there. Check the apps and you should see a "Car Settings" or similar app that has a bunch of that stuff in it

@@JackofAllMasterofNone One other thing, my 2022 CRV displays the Climate Control temps only on the display (not like yours below). Does the Joying display the dual temp settings when they are changed. Without this there would be nowhere to see the settings.

Has nothing to do with the stereo. All of that is a part of the instrument cluster.

You can change the canbus type. But all my experience is with an LX model. They are very stripped down compared to an EX and EX-L / Touring so Im not an expert on what is necessary to make it work on the higher trim levels

Joying have been in constant touch. They admitted that for the AMPLIFIER models, the original car info app for various factory settings like seat memory, keyless set up, TPMS, Honda sensing is not available straight away, but you have to change the canbus settings. The audio did come on after I plugged the front left and right RCA to the spdif canbus which then connects to the factory amp via optical. I am now waiting on a new harness as the back up camera is not coming on, but they have found the cause for it, as my car is manual transmission, and the wiring harness needs some changes. they have asked me to update the firmware through fat32 USB to hopefully get the original car info like TPMS and service reset, and Honda sensing settings to display on the screen. will keep updated. People looking to get this for the touring please check with them. they are responsive on emails, and seem to be trying to get my unit working.

It does have a factory settings app that allows you to modify most of the stock things

It tilts them at a different angle than stock due to the size of the head unit since it sticks out farther than the OEM head unit.

I have installed the same unit. it does not change the orientation of the climate control unit. the screen can be taken apart from the main single din unit, the climate control clipped in place and then install the screen by clipping it back on. the height of the screen can be changed. not sure how to post a picture here

@@BRYAN-uh7ge I wish I could I upload the pictures I have taken. Joying customer support has been good. They did make a completely new harness for my manual transmission CR-V so that the back up camera works. I finally took the unit off last week and put the factory unit back as I was not getting any success with the scaling issues. I have sent Joying the pictures and they will work on it. Basically it's a 1080p screen, and on Google maps your own GPS location is like tiny on the screen and you can see the whole world! Similarly Spotify and Amazon music and common apps they display in a funny way with large amounts of real estate on the screen wasted, and the control buttons too small. I reduced the display Resolution by changing the minimum width in the developer settings, but this just makes the UI look funny. The fit and finish of the install is good. It's DIY. The other issue I noted is that they are feeding the factory amplifier through RCA output and then converting to spdif by a canbus, rather than using the digital spdif output of the Joying. No idea why. I had to play a lot with the sound settings but the RCA output I felt does compromise a little bit. Joying have released the Android 12 update. Every time you update, it's a clean install, you loose all your apps and data!!

The screen is held in by 4 clips, but you can pull the screen off the unit. There's enough ribbon cable to pull the screen away. Then you can clip the ac controls to the bottom. Slide both parts into the car until it clips in then attach the screen.

I would suspect a canbus issue. Do the steering wheel controls work? Make sure everything's plugged in correctly

Thats an issue. Try unlugging the screen and plugging it back in. Reset the unit. If that doesnt work, something is defective. Contact Joying customer service.

I got this and tried to put it into my 2021 CRV hybrid touring. I haven't been able to get the rear speakers to work, I'm not sure the tweeters are working. Still trying to resolve the issue, but losing hope. So if you want to buy once at a discounted price...

I'd reach out to Joying directly. The one I installed was in a base model, so there was no factory amp.

@@dougmartin8479 let me know how it goes either way. Did you try to reach out to Joying about it? What makes me think the EX hybrid has more speakers than a regular EX is I know someone with a 17 regular EX and they don’t have as many speakers.

The one subwoofer out RCA? Are you sure you are connected to the right one? Its just a single RCA port. Also, make sure the subwoofer is turned on in the settings.

@@JackofAllMasterofNone yes I double checked my amp rca cables with a 3.5mm plug y adapter to the two rca leads coming from the amp. So all that is working perfectly. I have both RCAs cables connected to a y adapter to the one subwoofer black port on the head unit and all settings adjusted correctlyfor the subwoofer. It's like there is something preventing the sound to travel out through that black port for the subwoofer. I've emailed Joying to see if they have any ideas. I've hooked up a bunch of American brand radios and have never had an issue with sound coming from the sub out ports. This Android unit has been my most complicated install, mostly from the lack of info about the head unit and info about what each wire of the supplied wiring harness does.

Climate controls show anytime there is a mode change, so if you have auto climate on it will pop up when the car switches something on its own. It works as designed. You can turn that off in the settings. This is far from Chinese junk but everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

There is a built in one and an optional external one.
