I just got my 2018 Chevy Trax LT AWD from Carvana, I love this little thing ❤️

I got a 2018LT AWD 5 months ago! I hope the AWD is good I hear it’s only a 60/40 split. And any vehicle will get up a snowy hill with enough speed before the hill like you just did. From a complete stop in the middle of the hill and being able to finish going up would have be nice but in your video it could not do it

Thank You! I am picking mine up tomorrow and feel pretty good about my purchase after your review. Where I live their is a lot of snow and significant amounts of ice when I need to drive!

That's a 2016 or older Trax. The 2017 has a new look. I just got the 2017 Trax 3 weeks ago for my birthday. The 2017 and newer no longer have the storage on the dashboard and the dashboard layout is different. I live in Indiana so this id great info. All in all it's an awesome vehicle so thank you.

Great review! I just started an AWD Trax lease. Was wondering if you tested and reviewed it in deep snow. I mean the kind when your plow guy couldn't get to your house and you got to get to work kind of deep Thanks!
@crawdaddan
@crawdaddan 3 года назад
Ok this is a tricky question. On a dry powdery snow. ( the kind you can’t make snow balls with) a foot or so should be ok without risking any damage to the body of the vehicle. The wetter the snow the more risk of body damage. In an emergency with good aftermarket snow tires and few sizes bigger than stock ( which is what we currently have in 2021) Maybe 2 ft but. But you are gonna have lower body damage to the vehicle. Basically it’s not whether or not it will go in deep snow .... It’s about how much damage you are willing to gamble with to the trax.
@49Macman
@49Macman 3 года назад
@@crawdaddan Wow! Body damage? Never thought of possible body damage with a lot of snow! I am currently leasing and probably won't buy this one as I've learned their are a few things it didn't come with that other Trax vehicles have like a "secret compartment" behind the radio.I would have been able to throw my wallet in there when wearing jogging pants. You can lock it also. I leased it with the intention of watching my funds for now. In 3yrs. I should know if I can afford the same or better. Thanks for quickly answering my question. . Great review!

I looked at one and the only thing I didn’t like was the lack of power vs price.
@crawdaddan

Mentally Hurting i was apprehensive about the hp myself until I test drove it. It’s a far cry from my supercharged mustang gt. But it was more peppy than I thought it was gonna be. Those small turbo’s do make some torque.

I'm looking at this and a few others to replace my '05 cobalt with something awd, has it proven as practical and reliable thus far?

ryan5392 make sure it’s an all wheel drive..... They make a front wheel drive also. You definitely want the all wheel drive. The trax has a short wheel base and a good all terrain tire is all ya need. Plus the gas mileage is very VERY good

Did you have snow tires, and AWD? Any how it looks like fun, I have the 2019 Trax AWD w/Traction Control. Some SUV's come with a road condition selector. I am going to think the AWD and Traction control, steady the Trax providing AWD traction in any weather. (is this conclusion correct?) I can't get a straight answer from the Dealer, they may not how it works! Thank you very much.

On a dry powdered snow 18 -20 inches. A wet packing snow.. probably up to 14 inches

how well do you think FWD would do?
@crawdaddan
@crawdaddan 6 лет назад
aj gross honesty the cost between fwd and awd is so close. I would go with awd unless u live near a lot of flat ground.
@ajgross14
@ajgross14 6 лет назад
Daniel Harrison well the thing is I already bought the FWD. I was just wondering if it will perform in the snow because I live in northern Michigan so you can imagine the winters can get pretty crazy. Not too many hills though and my equinox works just fine with only FWD.

aj gross my 2011 impala has in heavy rain once. And then I drove a 2018 Chrysler 300 and the Chrysler would had not been able to keep up with my impala. The impala is FWD and the Chrysler is RWD. The front tires are always good. I never lose traction in the car. And never spin out in it. Where as the Chrysler 300 in heavy rain made the back tires always spin even when the ground was dry. The tire’s system on my impala is pretty good. I’ve never spun out in the impala. Even this one time there was a diesel and I going on a two lane road only. So the truck coming towards me. And I going towards it. And we were going about 45 or 50 both ways. And it was raining super super hard harder than the story with the Chrysler. And it was windy too with the truck and my car. And as we passed each other. The car caught all the wind from the truck. And almost pushed us off into the grape vines. But the car didn’t do anything besides move over. Like the car was literally still and barley got pushed over a few inches.
@vegasbab.y3740
@vegasbab.y3740 5 лет назад
Daniel Harrison I seen this video with the same impala but it was in snow. And there was no snow but black ice to on the road. And the snow was only on the sides of the road. And the lady started sliding. But I think it’s only because there was oil and stuff that made it do that. And she turned pretty fast and quick especially for those conditions.
