I’ll bet it’ll get you lots of views I’ve been looking for my Toyota Corolla and there are several out there and they have lots of views however, I didn’t see as many detailed ones for Trax 2020 … Anyway, just FYI and thank you very much for your video

Not a fan of the single block coil setup. The GM 3.5 used in the Olds Aurora and Intrigue was similar.

Nor I... it's the way the tech is going

Great video, is that 'standard' procedure to just replace the coil pack along with the spark plugs? Can the coil pack be bench tested to see if it needs to be replaced? Does the new coil pack come with rubber boots? Thank you.
@GarageMahalLife

Coils are a "wear" item. They fail over time. Complete tune ups on modern cars include replacing the coils. Most coils will last maybe 50k to 100k before failure

do yo know the Torque Specs ? for the coilpack T30 screws ans also the sparkplugs ?
@GarageMahalLife
@GarageMahalLife 4 месяца назад
Plugs about 18 foot lbs and T30s typically 6 foot lbs...

Thanks for this video! Is the ignition coil in your link good for a 2020 Trax LT AWD?
@GarageMahalLife

Yes, it will actually double check for you in the link

@GarageMahalLife hmmm, I did click on your link but I saw that it didn't cover a 2020. I'll check it again. Thank you!

Up above the regular air filter, there is a tiny thinner filter inside the black plastic part that screws down on top of the regular filter, and mine looks pretty dirty too. is that one replaceable, cleanable or does it just get super dirty?
@GarageMahalLife

I'm not sure what part you are seeing...

@@GarageMahalLife if you open the air filter cover and then look up inside it there is another small filter that sets above the regular air filter

@GarageMahalLife
@GarageMahalLife Год назад
That could be so many things... typically with no codes, it can be the need for new plugs and coils.

What if one of my screws is stripped?
@GarageMahalLife
@GarageMahalLife 4 месяца назад
You have a few opinions, tap it... or I've taken a small bit of aluminum foil, wrap it around the screw, again small bit. And that should work.

When do you get a tune-up Is it 60,000, or 100,000? I'm at 67, 000 miles. I was told by mechanic at 60, 000 miles. I would not need it to 100,000 miles. My car seems so sluggish at times now after about six months. Should I be worried
@GarageMahalLife
@GarageMahalLife 10 месяцев назад
I usually always do one at 60k and then at 100k then every 36k if I'm keeping the vehicle, to keep everything working efficient.

I have a question. My error code keeps saying. Misfire in number 3. Both spark plugs and coil pack has been charged. But it's still reading Misfire. Do you have any thoughts? Also the StabiliTrak light is lit up and showing up on the panel. Do you have any thoughts on it. Thank you in advance.
@GarageMahalLife
@GarageMahalLife Год назад
Misfires take about 100 miles to clear by themselves. If you have driven beyond that have a OBD2 scanner clear the codes and attempt again to drive to see of they stay cleared. StabiliTrak is probably a bad wheel hub sensor. Replace the hub bearing and sensor.
