I gave up the other day with the whole sketchy lift situation, but I decided to give it another go once I got it up in the air. Really happy with how everything turned out! LZMFG.com Music by David Cutter - / dcuttermusic
I also wanted to add that because this video was recorded/edited in the past I wasn't able to say anything about the terrible news in Vegas. I want to send my thoughts and prayers to anyone who was affected or knows someone that was. Words can't describe how messed up the whole thing is - stay safe everyone
David pelkey it’s not a ford problem it’s recommend by any after market company when working on suspension on any car or truck or every thing in between
Yeah you're supposed to actually torque suspension components with the weight of the vehicle on the suspension. Rechecking the bolts later allows you to skip that step.
A trackbar is used for side to side axle location. The reason for the drop bracket was so that the axle will stay centered on the car. For example when I lifted my truck 3 in" I needed an adjustable trackbar/panhard bar to re-center my rear axle.
The reasons i love your videos not only because of bmx but how you talk so much about your cars, and how you explain everything. Im starting to look into becoming a mechanic or something industrial some day and this is a great start for me just watching your videos.
shitty drifter shut the FUCK UP. Damn I can't crack a joke without a piece of shit ruining it. All u r is a shitty drifter that thinks he's cool u dumbass
I installed that exact kit and it does not retain the factory driveability. Steering feel becomes way to loose and lots of bump steer. So I removed the track bar drop bracket and went with the icon adj track bar. And also added new caster cams. It's much better now but not factory. I'll b taking out the caster cams and adding adj radius arms.
Not sure if you go through all your comments but just wanted to add too even with the Trac bar bracket you should get a alignment regardless just to make sure it isn't out. I'm a sales manager at a custom wheel shop in Alberta, Canada and we do lift and leveling kits. Awesome job also! Ever need any ideas on wheels or tires let me know -- also made this comment before finishing the video lol, but it might be out slightly and can wear your tires unevenly over time
The track bar relocation bracket is to keep your tires centered in the vehicle so one side don’t stick out and the other side in It’s needed on any lift over 2” or some kits come with an adjustable track bar without it it pulls the pass side tire in as body goes up or moves axle toward driver side
The track bar helps center the axle (from left to right, or from drivers side to passengers side) when the suspension is compressed and decompressed. so if you had not installed the relocation bracket, it could cause severe bump steer and "death wobble" in the front end from the geometry of the suspension being altered. There are a few good explanations on some forums about how the suspension works. I have a 2006 F350 with the same design of suspension. Truck looks good! I desperately need a leveling kit on my truck.
The track bars job is to center the front axle over the frame. When you raise the truck, the axle actually gets pulled to one side because of the track bar. The relocation bracket keeps the track bar geometry so the axle stays centered.
The Trac-bar relocation bracket is for fixing steering geometry after raising the vehicle. On a solid axle you want your traction bar to be at the same angle as your draglink (link from pitman arm to tie rod). Lifting the vehicle changes the angles to the bracket corrects it.
The track bar locates the axle in the vehicle. The relocation bracket makes it so the axle is still centered when raised the 2.5 inches your kit calls out for.
Track bar bracket corrects the location of the front axle side to side after you lift it. If you don't use it, it can cause bump steer and death wobble, something that can be a nightmare at highway speeds towing a trailer.
Hey Adam FYI the track bar is essentially a Panhard bar for the front end. It needs to be adjusted whenever you raise or lower a car/truck, otherwise the axle would settle to one side or the other. So that bracket is for that bar. The tie rod is what you adjusted at the end with is part of the steering linkage. Truck looks great!
I really like how you motivate us to doing better in life.Especially i am a little lazy and as you said that lazy sucks i realize that if i stop being lazy ill get an very good education and buy my own ^SILVIA S14^
The relocation bracket is to cure the angle of the traction bar to keep it from wobbling at highway speeds not to help the steering wheel and you still need to take it and get it aligned. Anytime you change anything with the suspension you need an alignment
The track-bar relocation kit doesn't affect your steering wheel. It helps keep your axle centered under the truck. A track-bar goes from your axle on lets say the passenger side to your chassis on the drivers side. When you raise the front of the truck your track bar stays the same length which will pull the axle to one side. All that piece did was keep the axle in the middle of the truck and all the suspension and drive-line geometry close to stock.
The weight of the solid front axle is PLENTY to decompress the springs. For independent FWD the tire weight will help pull an A-Arm down because the torsion bar is holding it up. The Track Bar Relocation Bracket is to Center your axle so it's not pushed towards the passenger side after you've listed the front.
@adamlz the loose vacum hose that you saw might be the one that goes to the actual axle, is kind of a breather line for the axle, it might pop out wen you lower the front end
track bar bracket help center your drive line and keep your steering angles some what to factory specs. You would hate it without the track bar bracket. As you lift the the axel get shifted to one direction, the bracket brings it back to a center.
The track bar is to relocate the front axle back in factory position if you don’t use it the front axle is I’ll be out a little on the left side and in on the right
The manual locking front hubs use vacuum to actuate when the hubs are selected to "auto" if you have the Electronic Shift on the Fly T-Case. That's what those vacuum lines are for
The track bar relocation bracket keeps the axle centered after the added lift, thus without it the axle would be shifted to the drivers side due to the track bar being too short
Yes relocation bracket sucked I did mine on the ground with two floor jacks two jack stands several pieces of wood lol and it was little scary at times but I got it done
the last bracket you installd, I think it hase something to do with the axels placement so you dont have to coreckt the axel :) and probably gives the hole axel the right geometry while under load :)
If no one has said yet, the track bar relocator bracket moves the axle back to the passenger side where it is stock. When you lift it and don’t use that the axle will be offset to the drivers side. Did you get wheels?
icyphilippe negeative it is a drop bracket for the trackbar when you lift a solid axle truck in the front the trackbar is a fixed length and your axle will move out towards the driver side so you use this drop bracket to put the trackbar down in the right position to recenter the axle I personally used an adjustable trackbar I was able to thread in or out to position my axle when I lifted my dads 2005 f350 and when I lifted my 2008 f350 (2005-2017 is the same suspension)
Track bar relocation bracket = centers your front axle again. With the lift, your axle would be pushed more to the drivers side. Your tire would actually stick out more on the drivers side than the passenger. Lifted Jeeps accomplish this by using this type of bracket or an adjustable track bar.
