Based on your reviews; I bought a 2017 Ford Focus SE w/ 2 liter engine. (It was the dealer demo model) I LOVE IT!!!! I'm a very conservative drive; with only a 14 mile round trip x 5 days. Did I say I LOVE IT!! I have had 2 lectures from 'MEN' driving Dodge trucks. I was given the 'whatfor' about the transmission. I've found that if I bury my foot in the pedal at lights; I'm going to be disappointed. It's NOT my Mustang. But...If I'm doing the Fuel economy route; and be patient, it responds well. I really LOVE my 2017 Focus SE Hatch! Thanks so much for all your reviews. You've really helped me select an awesome car that suits my driving needs!

The Focus ST3 has been reviewed 1,80,000,00 times and ya know what? It's one hell of a nice car. I get the fact that the MK3 chassis is getting long in the tooth and will be replaced next year with a fresh from the ground up new design but still, I own an ST3 myself and I Love it!. Its a blast to drive and a joy to look at. Ford builds one hell of a nice car. She's a winner! Automatic slush box poseurs need NOT apply. THREE PEDALS ONLY BRAH! And I'm 51 so pop that in yer pipe and smoke it.

Mark Porter if you look at the odometer on most of his reviews they have substantial miles on them. This leads me to believe that he is taking the test models out. These are the cars for test drives. No sales manager is going to let their salesman rack up miles on his new vehicles. Most people will not pay for a new car with more than 10-15 miles on them.
@OSTKCabal
@OSTKCabal 6 лет назад
No, he's actually quite right. Most people will notice the mileage on vehicles listed as "new". They expect them to be new, through and through. It's some mentality that many car buyers have, especially when they're paying a lot more money for a brand new vehicle.

JonnyTheKin6 noo. You don't want a new car with over that many miles. Especially a performance car because you know a bunch of people beat the shit out of it test driving it. Over reving with the engine cold. Going WOT at the bottom of 5th gear putting stress on everything. Yeah, I'd pass.

nice. one of our neighbors has an ST that didnt come with the all season tires option. He bought a cheap set of ugly black steels and some winter tires from tire rack for the few times it has to get out in the winter although he tries not to. surprisingly enough it doesnt do too bad with the winter only tires in the snow/ice but you can definitely get it all out of hand easy....lol. Sure is a lot of fun in the dry/warm months though with the summer tires.

It's actually a pretty common and well known thing that it's always best to let your car sit for roughly 30 seconds before you take off. It doesn't really matter what the season is either, winter, summer, spring, it's just best to let the car sit for 30 seconds and let all the fluids of the car run its course. The car doesn't really need to sit there until the engine is completely warmed up, it just needs to sit there until the engine oil, transmission fluid etc all run over the parts to lubricate them. Think of it like this, you wouldn't wake up from a dead sleep and go and start running or jogging would you? Same sort of concept applies to a vehicle. Luckily, in the video he let the car sit for awhile before moving.

I'm really interested in the ST-3 but was wondering if there is any noticeable difference between the hatchback and the estate, besides the obvious. Whilst driving does the estate feel like an estate or is it exactly as per the hatchback? Is the rear view any better or worse when reversing and parking? Is the cabin noise any different? The stats say that the estate is marginally slower, but do you notice it? Cheers, keep up the good work 😀

What is your honest opinion of the recarro seats I'm of a similar height to you just over 6'1" & 195 lbs.I had drive in a St earlier in the year & found the seats gripped my upper back & shoulders too much, as you say on the video it was OK for a 1/2 blast but I don't know if the seats would be comfortable day in day out. I have seen similar concerns re recarro seats on other videos.
@MozarkAdventures
@MozarkAdventures 7 лет назад
Like you I was unsure about them at first and now I love them. I don't feel as secure in other cars now. They take a bit of getting used to and after a while they loosen up a bit or "break in." The bottom of the seat would be my biggest concern for people who have wide hips since the center portion is lower than the sides of the seat. This would seem to leave the persons tail bone unsupported by the bottom of the seat...kind of like sitting on the rim of toilet if that makes any sense.

If you are buying the car for buying the car for a nice daily driver. No not at all. I just purchased my ST2 packaged car in Aug for under 25k. The same dealer has sold 2 of the 3 RS cars they got for 9k over sticker. I changed my mind about it when I looked at what a good programmer and some minor bolt on parts can do. That is when i realized I would be paying roughly 9k for under 50hp and awd. If i decided to sell my miata and my full auto X prepared focus SVT. Then maybe but even then the ST is fairly stiff ride even factory. I imagine the RS would be worse.

I noticed in late 14' or early 15' ford began to offer the all season tires for the focus St they weren't an option when I bought my 14' however I had to finance in some tires at the dealership which were continental dws since the dealership couldn't even order snows in 235/40/18 size....? I also noticed the RS has a winter wheel tire pkg option with wheels and snow tires, why doesn't ford offer something similar for the ST, I live in upstate ny and we get our share of snow, I've since found a budget alternative to the 18" snows which are older Taurus rims that are very available and cheap and with 5 mm spacers just clear the front brakes 16" snows are a lot cheaper than 18's Ford could offer even the 17" wheels off the regular focus with some snows as a winter pkg and they would look great and sell more STs, just my 2 cents nice video again and my St does pretty good in the winter in all conditions but I would always choose snow tires over all season

All season tires are 100x better in snow than summer tires, snow tires are about 3x better than all season. I'm not saying they're not a good investment in some cold/snowy areas, but all season is good enough for a lot of places. They last a LOT longer than snow or summer tires too.

Only problem is i have STX coilovers which also lowers my ST about 2 inches and i ended up plowing thru piled up snowfall at times but still the ST was a trooper thru the whole winter season. Please don't abuse a perfectly good ST like that. Clear the windows so you have good visibility, don't high rev/full throttle before break-in is over, NOR when the car isn't warmed up. Some poor sap is going to buy that car not knowing how you've abused the engine (then you have to hope the warranty is honored since that could count as "user error" when it needs to be fixed) =/

All season tires, not really good for any season, and sucks for everything else. Always buy winter and summer tires, and switch when needed. There is an bigger initial investment, as your buying two set of tires, but those will last twice as long as the one set of all season tires. But in the end it comes to the same. If you absolutely don't want to change tires, choose one set and drive on them all the time, at least half of the time your driving on a proper set of tires.

Amtrak Traveler911 Get winter tires ! They make a worlds difference , if you don’t have winter tires equipped you don’t ave credibility to say how a car die in the snow . There is a reason why winter tires are mandatory in central,northern and Eastern Europe from November to April ! If you get in a accident they won’t cover any cost of your car or any injury you have sustained ,not even a dollar .

Liked the video, but you probably should know NOT to floor the car when its not even close to being warmed up, especially when its not yours.

Him sitting on boost in 3rd gear 4k RPM straight after a cold start makes me cringe >.

Patty k Sincere question: How should it be done?
@michaelwong7973
@michaelwong7973 7 лет назад
ideally you should let the car warm up to "operating temperatures"; in this case, engaging boost with a cold start puts enormous pressure on the turbo system as turbo pressure is very high when temperature is cold

mm good looking for ford. But still not a ford fan unless it's a truck! Even then..... Also why do they insist on putting the vents vertically inclined instead of the latter?? So weird and cartoonish looking. Great vid nonetheless!

I wouldnt call it synthesized. The intake is plumbed into the cab so you hear it.
@crewdawg16

It's not synthesized, it's just piped in. This doesn't have engine noise playing through the speakers at all.

I have both cars, either way I wouldn't drive in the snow without blizzak snow tires. The WRX comes with summer tires.

Learn more about the car before you review it. And learn to warm up a car before going out and pushing it.
