which one do you think works better for adjusting timing and fuel ratios ? bazazz or power comander ? and i think the engine should be maped to run at coolest temperature possible like 219 something isnt right there i dont care if the green box is green and not red either timing or and fuel mix is not correct bike should be able to run for miles and not over heat and heat causes detonation and we know what that does to pistons crushes ring lands so rings are stuck no seal like that even worse breaking pistons melting holes no good outcome there i like wiesco pistons they are built right strong they been doing this since i was a baby and thats a hella long time ago!.... im 62

@brock Davidson: Man i love this:" Have a look into my tuning" kitchen. This is the kind of (from the lack of a more fitting word) "autistic" level of detail that i One of the main things in my day to day job in the IT business is, being consistent. It shows that people can expect the same level of in and output every day, all year. I can see from your level of ease in how you explain engine tuning, base mapping, even randomly explaining what the secondary injectors functions are, that you are married to your job. This is just pure love, verbally transmitted thru a video. I take my hat off to you Sir. Solid as a rock, from stock to Brock. p.s.: I was contemplating about getting my own FTEcu Benchkit. You convinced me into getting with this video, because it just make sense. Even using the same/proven map, depending where you life there will be differences in ambient temperatures, above and below sea levels and humidity. Having a well rounded custom tuned map, can always be perfected on each owner's bike. I live in the Netherland so, our weather here is everything but consistent. Anyway, keep up the good work and i look forward to your next video! p.p.s.: Sorry about the long post

Hi Brock, Another great episode as usual :). I guess the next stage is to tweak the ignition timing (which is something you didn't address in this video), so for sure you will be able to extract a few more gee-gees to break that magic 200bhp. Will be interesting to me to see how you will listen for det, as I don't know if this particular bike has a built in knock sensor or if you hook up a copper tube and some cans to do it old school :)? I can't wait for the next video. In the meantime, I would just like to compliment you not only on your total transparency - almost unique in the industry (and I only say "almost" to cover myself ;) ), but also the methodical approach and attention to detail for absolute consistency - it is a complete pleasure to watch. I appreciate you're busy (especially considering that anyone with half a brain and one of these bikes will want your tuning kit), but keep the videos coming, they are both entertaining and fascinating in equal amounts. Cheers Mike (from across the pond)

I have a 2017 gsxr 1000r and I bought the full predator exhaust, ecu flash, power commander with street mapping, and sprint filter all from Brock.. Today my bike dynoed 181.7 wheel horse power on pump gas. I was hoping to see somewhere in the 190’s but I guess every dyno and bike is different. I did feel a bit let down even tho 181.7 is plenty of power.
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 5 лет назад
@disarmyou84, we have reports as low as in the 160's and as high as in the 220's. Different brands can vary wildly as well as different versions/models of the same brand. Did your dyno operator think 181 was good for his dyno for your set-up? The operator typically knows if their dyno is 'stingy'.
@disarmyou84

Brock Davidson i spoke to Steve over there this morning and he cleared it up for me. A lot of factors come into play when it comes to dyno numbers and I did not know that. The guy who dynoed my bike was still impressed with the 181.7

Hey Brock, Firstly huuuuuuggggeeeee fan. Thanks for the amazing videos. Exhaust tuning is sooo complex. Could you tell a bit more about fuel efficiency with the custom map. Because a smoother running bike should actually give more miles . But people tend to think the opposite. Also plz plz plz a video on bazzaz v/s PC auto tune
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 6 лет назад
@sandyroadking - Glad you like our vids - you are correct that a smoother/more powerful bike producing higher fuel mileage. Some bikes will see a sizable increase in fuel mileage. Where we find this typically go unnoticed, or with riders who loose mileage is typically a result of rider style. We add more fuel to create more power, almost everywhere in the map. If the rider is aggressive/has a "heavy hand" the mileage will suffer, (of course). Our Street Maps do a good job of providing the best of both worlds,

Brock, great vid. Is the wideband labeled 13.25 in the video calibrated to lambda 1.0 @ 13.25 AFR? Do you use this sensor for pump and MR12 since they have different Stoich values (13.1 to 14.7 for non-ethanol) and if so what target AFR for each fuel since a 13.2 with MR12 on the software would be dead on accurate but a 13.2 on the software with pump gas (non-E) would be 14.7.
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 6 лет назад
@Mike, the sensors are not 'calibrated' - any calibration would occur in the ECU (for emissions tuning only) or in our tuning program. That sensor had been checked with our test gas and previously measured 13.25. Over time, and especially when using leaded fuel, the readings will change. It's not a problem, it's just something we must compensate for in our target settings. Performance tuning targets are typically 12.8 - 13.2 (up to 13.6 on some machines) to 1 for gasoline. 14.7 is far too lean to make proper power...but it works well for increased fuel mileage and decreased emissions readings. We use Innovate products for dynamic (non-dyno) readings - this article explains why Stoich is great in theory, but in practice...it's not where you want to be for optimum performance: www.hotrod.com/articles/innovate-air-fuel-ratio-meter/

Brock, is it possible to use the PC interface / software independently on another type of Dyno, rather than dynoJet? I mean, is this solution of 'automatic tune' a self standing product that can be used on any other manufacturer dyno, if connected to the O2 sensor of course?
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 3 года назад
Not that we are aware of. Of course, you can autotune on any dyno - where dynojet has the upper hand, IMO is the integration and ability to automatically adjust load to match TPS and engine RPM...and simultaneously correct the AFR. The model 250I is the best I have ever used.
@apexhunter2k
@apexhunter2k 6 лет назад
Great work and info as usual. Once you have a map created, do you recommend leaving the stock 02 sensor on the bike or removing and plugging it? You will definitely get over 200hp with the sprint air filter. I say, final hp numbers with sprint filter and tuning 204.26hp. Could you compare both the P16 sprint race filter and the new sprint P08 F1-85 race filter with the mr12 gas.Im curious to see if there is a air/fuel ratio difference between the 2 and if the P08 F1-85 gives a one or 2 point leaner condition over the P16? I was out having dinner when you new video notification popped up. Dinner was great but I suddenly was full and to tired to drive home so I can be the passenger and watch your video lol!!! The gen one busa is a 2000 by the way

I'm sure it's matter of opinion but do you think is the better of the 2... the 17-21 gsxr 1000 or the 19-current zx10r? It'd be for street riding/cruising/roll racing.. also I watched your videos on the gsxr s2b is it possible to break the 200 hp mark On the gsxr without going to race fuel or, is the most you'll see is the 191-193 mark? Will a aftermarket filter help get closer to there? I seen the kaw got to 209 hp. Thanks and happy new year!
@BrockDavidson

They are both really good bikes. The ZX-10R has a slight top speed advantage. Neither will make 200 on pump...at least not on our dyno. The 2020 s1000rr will.

We don't. Rottweiler seems to be leading the charge on them: www.rottweilerperformance.com/

Brock obviously mr12 works the best but What is the best alternative from vp race fuels that is a unleaded fuel and that won't need to much of a afr adjustment. Say one that you will be able to make a map using auto tune if you have no access to a dyno. What's your opinion on vp mr pro6 Thanks
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 6 лет назад
@Jock, I really can't answer that question. We use MR12 in stock engines and MRX02 in high compression engines. We have not tested any fuel that produces reasonable power gains- worth the additional cost involved (to us) except these two. They are also readily available in our area, which is very valuable since we can't win with what we can't get. I checked out the mr pro6 specs, it's 2 points higher octane than MR12 - so that's a negative for us.

I have a gen one busa with your alien head two full exhaust, pc5 and sprint filter. Is there a need to flash the stock ecu? I always run Sunoco 93. The pc5 have the street map on it.
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 6 лет назад
There is no need to flash your ECU. But, you are wasting $ and leaving horsepower on the table by running 93 in your tank vs. 87 (89 for newer/higher compression machines): Check out this FAQ: www.brocksperformance.com/absolutefm/?f=392

Hey Brock question , what will win in a race 2017 zx10r full bolt vs the gsxr 1000 2017 full bolt ons . What are your thoughts for top speed and overall power and performance?
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 6 лет назад
We can't answer that question just yet, as the products to do an apples to apples comparison do not yet exist. That said, the new gixxer is looking very strong at this point.

You should try to install an MWR airfilter then you Will get the last HP without eny more mapping :-) that works for me evry time, but a question, i have this bike but life in Denmark an we have V-power gasoline octane 99 is that better then the American gasoline or What?
@BrockDavidson

We have performed comprehensive testing of the filter you mention... we sell and distribute Sprint Filter and DNA Filters as a result of our testing. Here is info. on higher Octane: www.brocksperformance.com/absolutefm/?f=392

I watched one of you vids from a few years back, a BMW that had some issues on the dyno. You put back the stock air filter, do you run stock filters in your bikes? I want to flash my ecu and tune my Gsxr 1000 k5. I was going to put in a bmc filter, what are your thoughts?
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 6 лет назад
@Irshad Parak - Hello, please contact sales@brocksperformance.com or call 937-912-0054 for details on your filter question. In a nutshell: until we tested a Sprint Filter in the S1000RR, we had never found ANY aftermarket air filter that worked better than the stock filter for that bike. Remember, just because it's for sale... doesn't mean it actually works better. As far as a flash, yes - we do offer it for your K5, please contact dynoroom@brocksperformance.com for additional details.

I have a '14 CBR600RR. I want to dyno tune it with a PCV. To prepare for this I plugged the pair from inside the air box. But I still get exhaust popping (I thought that would be gone after plugging it). So I think there is an exhaust leak. I'm going to check the connections around the de-cat that's on it. But can the exhaust popping throw off the dyno tune readings enough to cause problems? How do I deal with my situation?
@BrockDavidson
@BrockDavidson 5 лет назад
@Matt, exhaust popping under deceleration does not affect dyno tuning as it is performed under acceleration. Even with the pair blocked, the addition of a short/free flow muffler can create popping - it happens in the stock muffler also, but it is designed to prevent you from hearing the pop. Exhaust leaks can also cause popping, as well as a lean fuel mixture.

Brock I live in Australia where we have 91,95 and 98 octane fuel.I'm purchasing a 2019 Gsx s750 which as stock has 114 bhp..The Yoshi Alpha t adds 2 bhp and 2 torque,, also will an aftermarket air cleaner like KnN with the (say 95 fuel) bring my Bhp to 120 ? Cheers..

@Paul, please read this ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating )to see why your Octane rating is typically displayed 4-6 pts. higher than ours. For the highest performance gain, please see our selection of Sprint Filters for your bike: brocksperformance.com/air-filters/
