Just got my Hyundai Elantra limited edition today. Overall with 8.5 Cali taxes and a upgraded warranty total cost was about $23,000. Why did I get the upgraded warranty, considering what hyundai offers....well I drive about 20,000 miles a year....yah. I got the electric blue version. Yes, car is not sporty, yet when you change it into sport mode, it is definitely more agile. Also, it feels really awesome to walk up to a car and just press the freaking button to open the car, another button to start the car. Android Auto adds navigation and basically more music apps. Pandora, spotify, iHeart and Google Music...who really uses Google Music. The trunk auto opening can sometimes be a hit or miss. Get too close, nothing happens...yet I just walked around my car and it started opening...no. Speakers are great...ride is smooth. Feeling is luxuries. Had test drived a Honda Civic 2015 and Mazda 2 2014. The Honda Civic 2015 was pretty comparable. No leather seats, maybe less tech. But not much of a difference to pay for premium. Was thinking of a Mazda 3, only had mazda 2 2014 available to test drive. Not sure if all cars are like this but just 2 years this car looks 10 years old. Wife liked the fun factor of mazda, but son and I were not liking the look and feel. Anyways, I know we live in the now, but I remember just about 5 years ago bluetooth on new cars were only for the privileged few. Now I can speak to the freaking car to tell it what to do. Love it!

We appreciate your comments, Raymond M. They were very thorough and enjoyable, too. Sounds like you'll have many happy years with your new car. Congratulations! Oh, as a side note, Chris sometimes uses Google Music. LOL Thanks for watching!

Hyundai is sneaking up on Honda. Already passed up Toyota. Compare this to Civic which is 5K more after discounts. Honda needs to come up with more tech as standard.

I just bought the 2017 Elantra SE last month for $17,990 out the door with the added Platinum 10 year/100,000 mile bumper to bumper warranty. MPG has been better than expected with 39MPG with mixed driving. I also have the added backup camera, 7" touch screen radio, Apple CarPlay, and alloy wheel options. To me, this car is a winner. The only thing I miss in this car is the lack of the lumbar support in the driver's seat.

I love mine.....Ive had it since 08. 2016 & 10,500.0 miles later this car still amazes me.....Ive added a K n N air filter and synthetic oil with every oil chg ; along with octane booster with every other fill-up has added a few more horses to the equation....I have gotten used to what I can do with the slap-stick auto @ what speed and how quickly I can get from 25 to 70 mph....it helps when you're getting on the highway......and the mpg ratings are right on the money I manage 38 mpg@ 70 mph....and about 27-28 mpg in city driving. This vehicle is quite possibly the best money Ive ever spent for a small vehicle....The list of high tech options with the limited is, again another story......

Glad to see we share an affinity (not Infiniti....a little car humor) for a Jif and Smucker's Strawberry Preserves PB&J sandwich. That's a top shelf sandwich for a discerning PB&J aficionado. Too bad you can't cash in on their product placement in your video. On a side note.....I'm not quite sure what type of project (at the 02:55 videomark) requires a backpack, a baby car seat, and a power drill but hey, that's your business Chris.

LOL Chris is always prepared when he conducts his car reviews, J High. And you're right! We do need to cash in. Someone get those PB&J people on the line! Thanks for watching!

between a 2015 honda accord or the 2017 hyundai elantra, which one is more reliable even over 100k? im getting a new car next month and i'm choosing between those two. looking for reliability more than anything else, but i don't really like toyota's otherwise i'd get one. I've heard honda's have always been reliable, and hyundai's used to have a low reliability rate, so i'm really curious about the newer models that i've heard are better.
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 7 лет назад
The Accord and the Elantra are two different categories of cars, Mary Fink, so you'll need to take that into account as you make your decision. The Accord is a midsize (large) family sedan, whereas the Elantra is a compact, so passenger and cargo room will be a bit better in the Accord. With that being said, the Elantra will have newer technology available in it, as well as a much better warranty (10 years/100k mile powertrain). Even with that fantastic warranty, we don't think you'll need it because Hyundai's reliability has been very good over the past decade or so. We hope this helps. Feel free to comment back on here if you get one and check out our review of the 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid ru-vid.com?o=U&video_id=kOLYl_x5lHU if you get the chance. Thanks for watching!

Do you think it’s enough space for someone who is 6’2
@AutoAcademics

That's a tough one, Blessed Highly Favored. They could probably be ok in the front seat as long as no one was sitting behind them, but the person in question may have to try it out and see to be sure. Sorry we couldn't help more. Thanks for watching!

AutoAcademics with all the amenities included, I feel like I'm driving a luxury car lol. Hyundai puts Toyota to shame. "Reliability" can only carry you so far. Toyota needs to step up it's game.
@AutoAcademics

the vents are under the front seats for the back seats

Yes, but those are typically considered for heat, whereas the A/C vents are usually placed higher up. We appreciate your comment, silkhead44. Thanks for watching!

Responsible but boring car. are there Turbo models?
@AutoAcademics
@AutoAcademics 8 лет назад
As a matter of fact, there is a turbo-charged model, (former known as Annoying). It's called the Eco. LOL Not sure if that's what you were thinking of, but it does get a reported 40 mpg on the highway. Exciting, right?
@madern7
