I own this limited ultimate awd. I loved everything about it. The 3rd row he exaggerated a little bit. It's not that bad comparing to It's class competitors. I'm 5'7 200lbs and i get in the 3 row just fine. I rate the engine extremely quiet, not sure what he's trying to prove. It's a great and affordable family car. I wouldn't say it's the best, but every family has their own financial class just like this car and it's class competitors. So please ppl, don't be comparing it to the next class up. Heavyweight fighters don't fight Light Heavyweight.
I have basically this model, a few years old and it has been an excellent vehicle with virtually no problems. I have traveled across the country several times with it and even towed a trailer and it did very well, even in horrible whiteout snowstorms in Pennsylvania. The reasons why I might not buy one again though are the fact that the ride is somewhat harsh on it and even though I have the most expensive one they make, Napa leather was not an option. I had it on my Azera and it is fantastic. The steering is not great either, no feeling. I'm also still pretty pissed they won't update the infotainment system on mine to include Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. During that whiteout snowstorm I had to sleep in the back at a rest area and it was very comfortable and the HVAC controls and vents in the very back was very good for that, also if you are carrying groceries or whatever back there and need to keep it cool. Another thing people need to keep in mind is that Hyundai does the cover for the sunroof right, it is completely opaque, a lot of companies do those cheap covers that lets light and heat through. If you live in a bright, sunny and hot area and you get a car with one of those crappy covers, you will soon regret it immensely.

Not,going to lie I have been watching his reviews since 2012 and I bet you if you put a honda,Mazda or a Ford badge. He would not say the shit he says about kia and Hyundi! Like for real.
Hyundai is doing a great job.... you measure your progress with the number of critics you have... In life, if nobody is criticizing you, it means you're not doing well...
Totally aggreed! I never saw such a biassed review!

@@mohammadkazemsadooghi7963 What dip shit boy fails on is this shit doesn't matter. Fake wood is not going to cost me a tow truck. I still have 2003 3.5 Santafe. 240k going strong! everything still works including the AC! Never serviced! A ford or chevy would never make it that far and nothing would be working any more! I just bought 2017 SE 7 pass. It's awesome!
7.5s and 6.5s 0-60 times! My god I'm getting old. When an SUV is faster than any of the fire-breathing sports cars I owned in my youth the times have certainly changed.
Currently have one as a rental and it does spin tires very easily. Quite impressed with hyundai and it’s 3.3 V6, if only it had the 3.3T from the genesis
I had a 2015 Ultimate Limited XL, had 12k on it and the ECM went out on freeway, warranty covered repair. 3 months later started having starting issues engine running rough,etc..Dealer cant do anything cause the car had to replicate my issues with it. So I traded Hyundai in for a 2018 Subaru Forester XT, I hated to do this but I could not get past the Hyundai breaking down again if I was far from home..The subi is fun and I like it.
I have it's cousin. The 2020 Kia Sorento SX AWD V6. I prefer the looks of mine with the tiger nose grille makes it look more "truck like". However, i would have preferred having the dual integrated exhaust outlets for my vehicle instead of the single chrome exhaust tip. And also the extra space as i only have 73 cubic feet with all seats folded. Where as this SUV has 80. Although i do prefer my bench seat to the captains chairs in this vehicle. Makes everything flatter when all seats are folded. Both have the same engine but mine has the 8 speed over this vehicle's 6 speed auto. And i think the 8 is a better pairing. Lastly, my Haldex AWD is better from what i've read in various reviews. Than Hyundai's Htrac system. Besides the minor quibbles i couldn't be happier with my SUV.
Wow! Another great review, Sofyan! I wonder what Hyundai will do for the redesigned model of the Santa Fe. I haven't reviewed a 2017 Santa Fe yet, but I did review the smaller Santa Fe Sport! It seemed like a decent choice in its class. This vehicle seems to follow in its smaller brothers footsteps. It isn't the best vehicle in its class, but it is definitely a solid choice. Hyundai should work on adding more 3rd row space, and fixing the overall interior design! I cannot wait for Hyundai's redesign! Hopefully, it is coming soon. I cannot wait until I can review the Santa Fe. Keep up the great work, Sofyan! 😉👌 DriveAndBeDriven 🚘 "The Quest To Record The Best!" 📽
The 7 seater version to this vehicle is pretty awesome. Lots for your money. I have to go to the dealership and check out that 3 row again to if it takes up second row leg room.
I agree with both Alex does a more detail competition review but Redline does a better cabin review....I buy the car for cabin reasons. I bought 8 cars in 10 years 6 for myself lol
Alex does a more impartial review. He states what the car is like and does not give so many of his own opinions. I like Sofyan's reviews, I watch them all the time, but he does state his opinion more often, and that's fine also.
Hey Sofyan. Great Review. I appreciate the mention of fuel range and tank size when discussing fuel economy. Can you all add that to all of your mainstream vehicle reviews? Thank You!
For a 19 minute video he sure rushed through parts of the vehicle. It would have been nice to see all the seats down in order to judge the full storage capacity. Instead we got to listen to him tell us which other models have more space. I guess I'll find another video that's less bias and actually does a complete review.
Excellent review Sofyan! Although I didn't notice too many changes on the refreshed Santa Fe, I'm impressed that Hyundai has integrated the newer gauge cluster design, the newest version of the Bluelink infotainment system, and even both Apple Carplay and Android Auto. On another note, do you have any plans to review the new Ioniq anytime soon? - Michael
We own one of these and are very impressed with it, especially how quiet it is. This kid obviously has an underlying bias against this car and shouldn't be considered a real reviewer. I can't believe how he interweaves snarky remarks throughout the non-review. Additionally, from the sound of the engine, I can tell you that he's driving like a maniac or a 16 year old that has no respect for the car.
Paul Quillen yes your right this guy has no good taste, my sister bought a 2017 and I drove it and everything feels and looks good, I really like it myself.
I know this is an old comment but I have a question if you happen to see this and don't mind answering. We are looking at getting one of these used. Did you get the trim level with captain's chairs in the second row or does yours have a bench seat? I love the captain's chairs for ease of accessing the third row however I worry that there is no division between the second row and the cargo space when the third row is down. Seem's like your groceries, etc could literally slide right through the middle opening of the captain's chairs into the second row. If you have/had the trim level with captain's chair has that been an issue at all?
The first mistake here is comparing the Santa FE XL to the Highlander and Pilot. The price of those vehicles is on a different planet compared to the Santa FE. He should be comparing it to the 2017 Honda CR-V, 2017 Rav-4 and yes the Mazda CX-9. Hard to compare it to a Pilot that with 80,000 km and 4 years old costs more than this vehicle nearly brand new....
To much like a minivan for me! I going for the earlier model Pilot! Like the boxy style! Was going to wait for the Land Rover Defender but it starting price is around the $145K and goes to $225K released in 2019! Bronco is 2020 but it only 2 doors! TrailBlazer is out in 2020 too. Other then that; nothing boxy style in the midsize segment that I know of! The new Traverse is okay but it more of a rectangle shape style!
Hyundai's interior is probably one of the worst out there for the price. Chevy Sonic has a better interior. At work we have an Elantra Limited 2017, and the Infinity sound system is complete garbage. Got a recall notice for the Wife's KIA for Kia and Hyundai Engine failures. Do yourself a favor and get a Honda, it boosts your Credit score just getting a Honda too (for collateral purposes).
if you talk shit about hyundai ., why would drive it ? simple answer : just sell it all the car maker has problem ,not only hyundai i had a garage japanese before, thats one of my garage car ive ever owned. look at toyota 4~5years ago, they evem lied to their customerz.
hows 'bout it I have a 2013 Kia Sorento and it's been more reliable than both my European and Japanese cars I had previous. For your information Kia is 6th most reliable car brand in the world.
hows 'bout it 2016 Elantra didn't offer the Infinity Audio...you're just an idiot. The older Hyundai's were less refined - this Santa Fe hasn't been redesigned since they began tuning suspensions and ride to be much better. This car is outdated. Wait for the new model - Hyundai salesman.
well in Canada the Elantra limited has the infinity audio so I'm not sure why would call me an idiot. don't be a troll. Canada is great, so I love my self and the people around me. you need to calm yourself.
Is pretty good. About 35-37 on the highway at 65 with cruise control on. In the city I push the car a lot and I still get 21-22 on my driving style which is not the most economical. I have. Ever used the ECO option. I don t like how the transmission responded when I used. The mpg is not the issues I have with the Sonata. The interior materials are not quality, is small for a midsize sedan, the engine noise, bad stock tires & more
