Super helpful. I used to think this looked hard but you made it look so easy! Did you not bleed the lines? Any reason you would or wouldn’t have to? Just curious.

No mate, I didn't need to bleed lines.

How have the pads lasted? Just picked up a new one last year and opted for the performance package for the bigger tire/wheel setup and the brembos. Currently at 16000km and they still feel amazing.

Awesome vid! Those old pads looked brand new. They are supposed to last 100k. How many miles were on your car? 30k? Either way awesome they looked so good!

Very true mate. Live and learn. The pads that I put in were not as good on the track so I reverted back to the originals. Smiles all round now 👍 Have a good one 👊

Do you by chance have a part number for the brake pads that you used?

Hi! I'm not sure if these are the pads to worry about. But never put your skin on the pads themselves. That shit will sit inside of your skin forever. Per my Mechanic friends dad. Never ever touch it with your bare skin. Just FYI. Thanks for the great and educational video!

I can't find one video on 4 piston brake and rotor installation . All are Brembo video installations.

How are the new DBA pads? How is the bite, noise and dust compared to stock?
@Revmatch-mr2hu
@Revmatch-mr2hu 5 лет назад
They are good. Great initial bite with consistent pedal feel after several high speed hits. Dust wise, a bit less than stock but still dust up fairly quickly. 👍

What material are these pads you used? I can’t seem to find anything but semi metallic, and what is a good aftermarket pad?

Hey mate they are a semi metallic carbon fibre friction material from dba extreme series. Check out dba on line. Hope that helps. 👍

Revmatch1970 thank you for getting back to me. It was kind of weird that I couldn’t even find ceramic material pads, I heard performance breaks such as the carbon types will have a lot of squeaks. But again thank you and I will certainly check them out.
@Revmatch-mr2hu
@Revmatch-mr2hu 5 лет назад
All good mate. Yes they have a slight squeak as you come to a stop, nothing major👍👍

Is this the same for a 2013-2014 Brembo?

Not sure to be honest as we didn't get the 12/14 year model in Australia.

@Revmatch-mr2hu
@Revmatch-mr2hu 4 года назад
Here’s mate. I’ll have to do a bit of digging on the specs but I would not recommend for track use. I was out a couple of months ago and they felt very wooden when aggressively braking. I can honestly say the brembo pads that come standard are WAY better than these. Road use though, they are fine. Let me do some digging to make sure I get the correct information for you 👍

@@Revmatch-mr2huI think the rotor combo plays a big role in performance as the extreme performance pads are only ment for the t3 rotors not for standard rotars

If my pads are worn down a good amount what tool do I use to compress my caliper piston back in ? Thanks
@Revmatch-mr2hu
@Revmatch-mr2hu 4 года назад
When I did mine I used a g clamp and some wood. Worked a treat. I have just bought a piston compressor from eBay for $25 which will make it even easier. The rear caliper pistons are screw in type. Hope that helps 👍

A slight correction. Each front wheel has only 3 pistons. Both front wheels together have a total of 6 pistons, not 12. The 3 pistons are only on the inside with none on the outside.
@erbd7744
@erbd7744 Год назад
Totally wrong each caliper has 6 pistons hence 6 piston caliper!
@sproston3695
@sproston3695 Год назад
So, both front wheels have a total of 12 pistons, but only one brake hose per wheel feeding 6 pistons. Sounds like a lot of fluid is needed to actuate 12 pistons maybe needing a bigger reservoir on the master cylinder? How is the brake fluid routed to each cylinder, by internal passages or what? as I don't see any external hoses feeding both sides of each caliper. Also, should I assume that the 6 pistons are MUCH smaller in diameter than the standard pistons?
@crowdkilleryote
@crowdkilleryote 6 месяцев назад
@@sproston36957 months later here to tell you that yes, it is quite a big master cylinder reservoir. And the 6 pistons are small. The point of 6 pistons isn’t for extreme braking power, rather it dissipates the braking power and helps the brakes maintain a better temp so they don’t fade. Hope that helped
