That’s all you bro! I’ve been following your channel since the beginning. The love and passion you have for the GT3 can be seen through the GTS or a GT4. Nothing beats a 911 👍🏽
First off, love your videos. The cinematic quality is so refreshing (framing, transitions, color grading, etc.). Second, I would get the model you like most, even if it means going a year or two used. I've had brand new cars and some of my favorites were very used models. But then again, it's not a permanent decision. Have fun with it! Cheers, man.
I really like your honesty considering prices and financing etc and as a viewer you can feel your love to cars to badly in every single video. Compared to others you are absolutely not fake (to keep the RU-vidr face) and thats why we all can Identity with your words so much! Keep on mate! 💪🏼
Remember that the 450ps are Porsche horses, rated at the most extremes of elevation & hot environments it will be still produce 450ps. Unlike other manufacturers who um shall we say aren't as generous haha!
After thinking about this car fro some days and as much as I just loved this 911, even with that massive price tag I realise that for my first sports car I want something more hardcore which I think makes an older GT3 in need of a test drive next!
Makes total sense Luke. Take your time, there is no rush... I was thinking of the 911.1 GTS, also slightly over my budget. I bought the GT4.... I spent 6 months looking, researching, and finding the right car with the right spec. My advice is to avoid over extending yourself in terms of budget.... Also, make sure you enjoy the whole process of looking, testing and eventually buying.... 😀😀😀
Porsche, there is no substitute :-) Nice to hear you're considering an older GT3 as an option. 997 was a fantastic generation of analog-feel vs the 991. I love my 997.2 Turbo. Best of luck on the search!
First of all, great videos Luke. I understand your passion for the Porsche brand. I am in my 50's and have loved Porsches, since I was 8. We lived near a dealership, when I was a kid. I haven't been able to get one yet, but I can see it happening within 5 years. I love to see and hear your feedback on your test drives. I can picture myself doing that soon. What worries me, is how to spec the 911 or Cayman, so many choices....lol Best of Luck !! I think the GTS might be a better daily driver, if you can pull it off.
It is incredible how much you like Porsche. Honestly, if I have enough money to fool around I would buy one for you. Unfortunately for me and you I don't have it. Sorry. But keep on and I am pretty sure you will buy one! Until then, just keep on with your videos. Cheers man.
Cars with Luke cool - keep up the good work: visuals/audio and car selection. You also need to get on the Ring and Spa Francorchamps. It will change you 😉
Hi Luke!! New subscriber from Sweden here, glad you liked the GTS, I have a Guards Red on order, delivery may 2018. I tested it in october for a quick test drive but I got hooked pretty fast!! I can pick up my twins from kindergarten and do quick laps on the local track the next day, perfect car!!! Looking foward to following your dream of buying a Porsche!!
I've been following your Instagram for a long time and I had no idea you had a RU-vid channel! Subscribed just now as the videos are awesome and genuine!
Such a cool video, Luke! - Makes me wish I had the garage space for this very car in crayon with the manual gearbox... Will be lusting after it for days now.
Good video. I personally love the targa 4gts. Hope to get one in the next year or two. That’s a nice coat by the way! Oh...your camera work at the top is nice!
Very much enjoyed this video Luke. Best of luck in your search. I received my 991.2 GTS in manual last summer and enjoy the ability for the vehicle to go from an aggressive ride to a smooth cruiser. I drive my car daily and have no regrets👍🏻. 991 GT3 would indeed be much more raw but finding a good one will cost you.
Nicd vid Luke~ porsches' 450ps , that's to the wheels , crank HP is considerably more than 450ps for sure and while i personally think gt4 is nice, go with what you personally think is the best for yourself and the channel. While i do prefer to see something with MANUAL, and porsche... ummm will not get enough of that.
The GTS gives me the same emotion as a G30 540i M sport. Certainly an enjoyable car that I would be HAPPY to drive...But when you see that price tag it sucks the life out of it. It's too short of a leap (financially) from its superior bigger brother
Hey Luke great watching you test the new GT3's it reminds me of my 1st drives of these amazing cars. Having owned a number of Porsches over the last 30 years I need to tell you that if you are a driver and spend a reasonable amount of time behind the wheel of a GT3 (any model) then its going to be hard to be satisfied with anything else that does not have a GT badge on it!! I recently went looking for a 991.1 GT3 CS as I wasn't sure if I would be successful with my registered expression of interest on a 991.2 GT3. The thing that I found was that all GT3's are so fast as road cars with incremental improvements(only) in handling and power as the newer ones became available. In saying that there is a big step change in feel between the 997.2 and the 991.1 GT3 for me. - the 997.2 feels smaller/more intermit, more visceral with amazing steering feel as opposed to a larger more current cockpit which i feel is less engaging. The overwhelming feature of 991.1 is that its a fast car with its PDK transmission swapping cogs that quick that you are at insane speeds before you know it however, I'm not on it like that all the time when driving on the road which is 80-90-% of my driving of the car, so I was left with very little to do when driving the car and not on it. I chose to buy a 997.2 GT3 CS for now. RE GT4 they are an amazing car however I just love the shape of the 911!! The GT3's all sound amazing so there is no disappointment there the 997.1 or .2 I think is the sweet spot. Good Luck and keep up the enthusiastic videos.
Hi Luke I drive 2 Porsches in Switzerland and I know the market pretty well, with your budget I would go for a first gen 991 GTS or wait for the 718 GT4 ...hopefully with a flat 6......great channel keep them coming
The GT4 is great, but looking at the Swiss Porsche page, the 718 GTS is already at 100.000 CHF - without any options. I don't see how he'd be able to afford a 718 GT4 given his budget. Plus, availability will probably lead to markups. I think a 981 Cayman GTS or a 991.1 Carrera S / GTS depending on what he can find would be a great choice.
Hey bro, I recently went in to my local Porsche dealership and speced out a 911T for CAD $130k. I believe it starts at $110. Same power as a base 911, but some really cool options that the base 911 doesn't get. You should consider a 911T and a a GT4.
Love those videos, as few people said before me- currently pretty much the only ones that have not became shitty recently. Music, SIGHTS!!, CARS (well, I just love your taste Luke) and just overall it's a pure pleasure to watch it after whole day. P.S. if your GTS was specced at 215k CHF I think I'd go for very cheap GT3. It's just whole another level I am pretty sure. I see it starts at 202K CHF. OR A CAYMAN GT4 HAHA
911 GTS in Crayon is my dream as well Luke you have great taste . I have a 718 which I love , don't discount a 718 Cayman GTS in Crayon as you could order a brand new one on your healthy budget .
Luke, another great film. I am really enjoying your story, (especially as a fellow expat). Porsche. I love them and have had 7 911’s so far... There is something about the 911 that is very special. I had 991.1 GTS before I left the UK. You might get a 3 year old one near to your budget, so please drive and film it. Honestly, it was the best car I have ever had; the noise alone will leave the 991.2 wanting.
Thanks very much, 7 of them is a lot! You must have a real passion for it. I’m excited to get my first one whatever it is and yes if I can find one I will make a test drive with it :-)
Look at a 991.1 GTS, they are normally aspirated, very fast and sound glorious. Also they are less expensive than a practically new car. Also look at a new 991.2 Carrera T, 140k CHF, manual gearbox and you can fit carbon bucket seats and Porsche offer great finance.
Nice! Any thoughts on the ultimate question of PDK vs manual in something like the new GT3? I guess PDK is faster on a track but the manual is maybe more fun and engaging on the street?
Absolute love the color combination of the car. You should drive the same car without center lock wheels. 2 times the comfort and same handling. Also having a Porsche of my own with a PDK, manual shifting is only good for remembering old times. the PDK is out of this world.
I have the new GTS with PDK and it is phenomenal. It is expensive but please consider residual value. At the end, mileage cost is cheaper than many, many other cars!
Great video, love the GTS 991.2 although I prefer the PDK personally, I did a video too (have a look ?) , I have a GTS on order and waiting and waiting.
Yeah discovered channel a few weeks back and SIC bro, keep it up. Looking to get my 1st Porsche in April 2018 with £20k down, would love a 991.1 GTS 4 but out of my budget so as most people have said, pick the right car and take your time. I'll propabably go for a 991.1 4S with a high spec as this car will be my daily, work, shopping everything.
Thanks mate, good luck with your search and yeah I will take my time and enjoy it also. Let me know what you end up getting, the 4S is for sure a car you can use for event if and have a lot of fun on the twisty’s 😃
Hi Luke. Nice video! If you come in Lausanne, you can test my 911 GTS 4. It has still the naturally aspirated engine with 430PS. The sound is better than the turbo version and 4WD give a feeling of security especially with wet roads. I have the automatic version PDK wich give extra comfort in the daily drive without loosing the sportivity. Anyway it is not to sell! Cheers.
Love the channel. I would suggest you only drive cars that are within your budget. I enjoy watching the different cars, but you may run into the issue of the car you can afford not being as good. Ignorance is bliss! I would look at the 997 GTS (perfect daily), 991 Carrera or S, 997 GT3 (not a good daily), and the 997 turbo (great daily - beast but not track focused). The GT4 is obviously an amazing car as you know so that is definitely in the top list. I would personally find a non turbo car because over time they will be more rare and you may even make a couple bucks. By the way - check out an air cooled car. They aren't anywhere as fast, but a vintage 911 is a treat to drive and experience. Happy searching and take your time!! Get the car you want with the options you want. Adding anything later is not cheap.
Hi Luke! What do you think about the new Carrera T? Seems to be a great drivers cars and a bit cheaper than the standard carrera s etc. I think you should consider to test drive one in your "My next car" - series, i would certainly enjoy it. Love your videos - Keep it up! :)
It really depends on what you wanna do. If you are looking for a pure daily driver, most probably GTS might be better. It is more comfy and has 2 more jump seats compared to GT4. But if you are looking for some track days and fine with harness, check the market. There are a lot of GT4s with good prices.
Will watch the video later but I can already comment that this is my dream car! My objective is to own one (Or Carrera 4s) in 2019... Can't wait to have your impressions on this car and I truely hope you'll get one! (Along with the 10x more subscribers you deserve)
This is awesome. If there's any way to make this one work Luke, try. You really seemed to enjoy it. If you can't, the next ones better be a close to perfect as you can get...
Just dont go over your budget. That is just plain wrong. Period! Just take Cayman GT4 and enjoy! Its limited edition Porsche so it will hold its value 100 times better + it has much better components than GTS you are looking at right now.
What kind of camera do you use, Luke? Sony A7RII, III? Ever think about selling presets for your photos or doing a video on how you color correct your videos? I don't know if you know but those videos get a lot of views these days.
Not sure if its much cheaper (if at all!) Luke but the 991.1 GTS looks fabulous especially with a retro Ducktail. I had a 'play' with the ex UK press car a while ago - luvverrly (I don't think you can get a .2 with a ducktail)
