Oh man..... That allen wrench was the greatest idea. It worked like a charm. The easiest part of the job that i thought would be the hardest part. The fan shroud was the worst part. Luckily i bought a 180 thermostat to put in while i was already in there and discovered that my thermostat was leaking a little.Dry rotted gasket. And the fan works great. Thanks for the help.
Thank You for the video! My original AC condenser fan just crapped out on my 2016 rebel so I am going to be doing this upgrade mod this week. The alan wrench trick is genius!
Great video! I did this same thing without a tuner, same parts on a 14 RAM w/5.7. It runs just fine! I put a 192 degree thermostat in and that also helps without lowering the temps to much. My fan comes on during idle or sitting parked without the A/C on. I'm not sure why because I was told that the A/C had to be running for it to kick on or hit a higher temp. but my engine temps with the 192 thermostat keep below 210 and coolant might spike to 213 every once awhile but drop back around the 192 mark as it should. I notice a difference on cold starts and it feels like there is just a little more pickup on the low end RPMs.
Its kind of funny that the temps stay lower when running hard or towing because I am getting the wind plus the fan going so I see about 215F Max. When I park it and leave it idle it will spike to 219F, which is still good but just interesting. I plan on getting a tuner and adjusting the fan kick on point. The main reason for this mod was to allow more room for my custom dual air intake piping. Video on that coming soon.
@@gruffproductions683 I just did the same thing to watching your video awesome and easy i even extended my connector too lol. Now worrying about temperature issues but as you said shouldn't be worrying about it I'm getting a tuner plus the 180° thermostat.
No tuner yet. I have been happy with the stock temp range with current setup. I even towed a decent sized load 400 miles and temps stayed well within normal range
Thanks for the quick response yes it's a new tyc brand Do you think the heavy load is related to the problem! Because I have rack bed, Arb tent, and awning @@gruffproductions683
@@assami9736 Doubt its that. Are you 100% sure its not working? Crank up the AC and check it. If it still doesnt kick on i would try to hook it to a battery to check it. If it still doesnt turn on then its broken and see if you still have warranty coverage
