From 1976 to this day ELO (Jeff Lynne) has been the best live band i have ever seen and i have seen lots and lots of concerts from legendary bands. I saw ELO in 1976, 1978, 1981, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019. I feel very fortunate.

Not many musicians are better live than on their Records! This is perfection. Long live Jeff Lynne's ELO!

Jeff Lynne's ELO is one of the very, very few bands sounding better live than on their records. They are this good. In the Summer of 2019, Forbes Magazine called Jeff Lynne's ELO "The Best Live Classic Rock Band In The World Still Touring". After seeing their shows in 2016, 2018 and 2019, I totally agree.

That has remained the best setup for the song. The classic gives way to classic Rock and Roll. ELO really worked ot out.

For me, this was THE song that started my love affair with ELO. Such an amazing take and tribute to, as Jeff says after the song, "The king of rock 'n roll, Chuck Berry". I had only recently discovered the man that The Beatles were covering at the time, and I was floored by Jeff's interpretation and fusion with classical. Saw ELO 4x "back in the day", mostly at the old Philadelphia Spectrum. Back then I was "experimenting" with mind and mood-altering substances, so I don't remember the dates or the songs. But I do remember the experiments were a success, and of course, the mind-blowing stage shows ELO put on back then. Spaceships and laser beams shooting from the eye of a face I can't even remember. But it was all good. As Roy said, God bless Jeff for his single-minded focus on writing the songs and keeping the ELO torch not only lit, but burning brightly all these years. What a long hard road it must be indeed.

This guy has single handedly kept true Rock and Roll alive for all these years . And yet pays tribute to THE true King of Rock as Roll Chuck Berry.! He wrote 'em, he sang 'em !!!

Chuck died that very year, on March, about to turn 91.Saw him with son on 2nd guitar and daughter singing in Trani, 7/2005.Also on Yt. He then drove away, with beret, on a 3 doors Mercedes on the only Capo Colonna(Cape-Head Peninsula) in a 3-doors Mercedes.

This is the 1st tune I ever heard by Jeff and ELO, '73 on the Midnight Special...loved them ever since, they rock this tune....Richard is hot on the keys...grew up with Chuck Berry's music but I like this way, way better...and this honor was way over due !!!!

ELO made an arena or venue sound like it was a full orchestra out there. Music was fun and fabulous. They made music entertaining to enjoy, incorporating Classical music with Rock. Who else did that? Totally wonderful band, and Jeff Lynn was always on the leading edge. Music for all venues, and I never heard a bad word about them. Totally entertaining group of musicians..

I just saw this performance for the first time on a PBS documentary on Chuck Berry. This is the song that started my love for ELO and Jeff Lynne as a small child. It lacks the vocal power of the studio recording and a live reel to reel tape I have from the mid-‘70s, but still a really epic performance.

I can see old Ludwig duckwalking across the stage to this much improved version of his 5th.

Forget that traditional standard of excellence, and as Berry famously said "Listen, to a little OF THIS!" Very cool ELO played this song for their Rock Hall induction. Hail Chuck Berry, the TRUE original King of Rock and Roll.
