Samaje Perine would've been like an unstoppable bowling ball if OU was using the wishbone offense, but that was a few years before his time, but Samaje Perine did set the single game collegiate rushing record of 429 or more yards if I remember correctly against Iowa St at Iowa St.
Auburn was just so cocky before this game! But after the game, oh they were not that good. Hahahahaha same with Florida this year when Oklahoma destroys them. When they start tricks early the coaches know they are in trouble. lol
It’s amazing I don’t even remember games like this anymore. I hate to say anything about the playoff system is bad but it definitely does make the other bowl games seem like they don’t exist
Yes, it is. Oklahoma is a state in the South Central region of the United States. It is bordered by Texas to the south and west, Kansas to the north, Missouri to the northeast, Arkansas to the east, New Mexico to the west and Colorado to the northwest. But the Sooners play football.
In true Brent Musburger fashion, he reassures everyone at home that the over/under and spread were not affected at all by the Auburn TD on the last play of the game. "None of the funny math was affected by that touchdown folks, just so everyone knows."
I know it has something to do with the whole war eagle thing but I don't know when or how that started in comparison to the main name of the tigers. But it makes more sense to me since they say war eagle then it does for Alabama to be the crimson tide and their mascot is an elephant. Maybe it is just the state of Alabama.. they just struggle with the idea of names and mascots or they just do what they want lol
I think the bowl committee itself chooses which team from the allotted teams it wants. Sugar Bowl is SEC VS BIG 12. I think the Sugar Bowl committee chooses which available teams from each conference it wants.
You have to bear in mind that with half a QB Auburn lost 4 games by 43 points combined. 2 of those by 6 each. 1 of those 2 to the eventual national champion.
@@adriangilbert5364 Auburn played a killer schedule that year. If you remember, A&M was top ten until they lost to Alabama late in the year, and then they fell apart, as was always the case under Sumlin. But I think they were a legit top ten team when they played Auburn. I think Auburn fans will look back and realize that they had a pretty good coach in Gus Malzahn.
I thought Baker played in 2017 against Georgia? I guess my years are mixed up since it is now June 30th 2016. Hi Austin!! Yep we are in quarantine too and miss my Sooners. Boomer
Stoops Players :Offensive Power: Baker, Mixon, Perine, Westbrook and Andrews Made Ring-less Riley offensive coordinator look good. Mike Stoops defense was impressive. About 7 minutes left in the game: great running plays but Lebby would of rushed the offense and had passing plays without killing the clock.
OU doesn’t do well against the SEC when it comes to Championship games. However, they do well in bowl games. Also, Malik Willis was the backup QB for Auburn during this game.
I just have to wonder what could have been if these teams had had coach Grinch running his defense. Maybe they would have won more games per year; maybe not. They certainly would have been more difficult
It wouldn’t of changed a thing. Dude im a Oklahoma fan but I CANT stand the 10 yard cushion or THE SOFT zone they play when there’s not a DB within 10 yard of a wideout. 1 sack against KANSAS everyone who cried for Mike stoops to be gone should be saying the exact thing about grinch.
He has arguably one of best d line classes right now in the last 10 year at Oklahoma and we can’t sack anyone. The rush 4 drop 7 isn’t working START BLITZING AND PLAYING MAN
Anyone who doesn’t think the Sooners will be dominate in the SEC..is smoking crack..Only team that will consistently compete will be Alabama..GA..is great right now..but they will fade away..they aren’t a year in year out power house

@@goop3213 jsyn The three SEC teams that once shared a conference with OU still all, despite combining for over four decades of playing in the SEC, have the worst defeat in their programs history to OU. 👍
