2017 Suzuki GSX-R1000R vs BMW S 1000 RR 

So many R's in the names of these bikes I swear they're named by pirates.

Suzuki could of easily made that muffler bigger.

Stock Gixxer still makes 9.99 s in 1/4 mile, it is under 10 seconds, faster than stock S1K, for a stock bike this performance is amazing, if the ECU unlocked and that ugly muffler got removed, the gixxer can be a new benchmark, replacing the beemer hehe

crazy how when the BMW came out no one could even come close...took like 5 years for others to catch up with the new r1 and r1m new zx10r and now new gsxr...however I think while some are better in certain aspects the BMW is still overall the best bike

I'm a GSXR rider until the day I die. I love them. They are the best all-around bikes by far. But, when is Suzuki going to get a quality master cylinder on the bike. I mean wtf? Those Brembos aren't doing much good if you put a shit Nissin master cylinder on it that feels like fucking mush. C'mon.

People are not comprehending, a gigantic ugly muffler is better than a small and sleek muffler with a cat in front of it, the GSXR has the cat in the muffler, so You'd be getting rid of both by just getting a slip on. Unless I'm mistaken and the cat isn't in the can.

21:36 Funny, my experience is exactly the opposite: here in Portugal BMW dealerships are snotty as fuck, don't really care about the customer and once reliability bites you in the ass (as it always does with a BMW) you're in for a lot of pain. My experience with Suzuki and Kawasaki has been amazing - very competent and fast service.

Nice video gents and entirely agree about BMW service/ownership experience being of value and worth factoring in. I've not ridden the Suzuki yet so take your word on the thrills/performance front, but what let's it down for me is the looks - it aint an R1 or a Panigale is it? ....I know it shouldn't be about looks but you buy bikes with your heart and to me looks (like noise) is a big part of that.....thanks for posting, all the best - TMF

Echo what’s been said, great review guys, watched a lot of the others too, some of the best. I’m riding a 2018 version, simply superb bike, love it. My only criticism is that they did not make the exhaust half the size again and put ALL the cat into it lol. One thing I like to do with my bikes is the add ons, exhaust etc. Seen the arrow pipe video, brilliant, looks nice. I’m torn between two, the arrow or the Austin racing one, these sound and look superb 😎

Good review. Would be interesting to have a throttle cam to see throttle position during the lap. Not sure if you keep traction control on but many track dayers do and it's interesting to see where people get on/off the gas using modern technology

been looking forward to this for what seems like ages, didn't disappoint. another brilliant video, keep it up guys you are way ahead of the competition .

The review I have been waiting for...fab. Just one small tiny point...for a 16K bike I don't really want it to have a blipper that is so, so and slightly ifi fueling mid corner. I have no doubt it's the muts nuts and like you say, feels like it betters the S1000rr, but for that sort of money, in this day and age of uber electronic magic it should probably be spot on....just a small point.

The other good thing about the Suzuki is that when you've finished riding it for the day, there's plenty of room to park it inside it's own massive exaust ;)

Furthermore good sirs, this dumb Yankee over here has NO IDEA how much 200 quid is! That could be like $2,000 USD for all I know! What the hell is a quid anyway......? I say, good day sir!

This new GSXR is uglyest superbike by far! Wtf is that water pump, like from some old crapy bike, and that black&white dash omg, like some bike from 90's. The can is ridiculous but luckily every stock can is gona be replaced with some aftermarket exhaust. The color scheme on Suzuki is amizing. For same money Bmw its more premium bike and looks like way more better quality bike. Suzuki vs Bmw, im always for the japanis bikes but this time BMW no doubt.

Better brakes. Better quick shifter. Better throttle response. Better quality. Speed is maybe...meh, slightly slower. Same price. Better resale value. BMW wins. Unless you just prefer the GSX-R over owning a BMW, you're clearly not buying logically.

Superbikes ,for the affluent to play on,track days are for wannabees ,with £20,000+ to spend ,when theyre not in their equally pricey cars ,other toys,the death of the day to day riders ,who DO NOT have the money or want to spend car money ,on a ROAD bike.

Awesome reviews. But i feel like you guys sit in front of the cameras like a bunch of cocky stubborn and over-jealous peeps. You need to be more humble in your position. yes i know some of us don't have the connects like you guys to come out on an invitation to ride new bikes and to do reviews but dont' become a ROOSTER in front of the camera.

Looks and size of new litre bikes are very important for most road riders and sadly, these new bikes look more ugly and are all smaller in size thus (5'11/ 15 stone riders +) are not buying them. These bike are literally built for the track and its point less ignoring the road when most people want to enjoy them on the road as well.

For the road I'd take the BMW every time because the insurance is half as much which would save more money than the whole bike payment! GSXR is the most expensive bike to insure.

just the build quality alone I wouldn't buy the gsxr. The welds on that thing is utterly garbage for a 16k bike and that is something you cannot fix via aftermarket parts.

This is like watching a couple of Jedi Masters talk about their favourite light sabre. How the fuck would an Average Joe like me ride these bikes to anywhere near their limit? Lovely machines tho.
