amen. I am so sick of the air of pompeity and 'secrecy' that has become the top tier corps. get over yourselves, it's drumcorps! blow us away and let us enjoy it!
O.K. Having scene the field show and now listening to the park concert a few times I have to believe this will be one of the top closers this year. The final two minutes of the show .........the guard, brass, and percussion are seamless......and with ginos direction the closing brass is just awesome. Only better with time!
Saw the field show of "Wicked" in Castleton before they broke camp. Just wait till you see the field show! Just amazing! They have a lot to look forward to! Gonna surprise some people!
In my opinion Crown has a more unique and I guess iconic sound but I genuinely like the Crusaders musical scores much better year to year. Boston isn't afraid to use original compositions in their shows.
Also watching all these dci videos makes me really excited to go to dci east for the third time in my life and the first time of my life of it being a required trip with my whole marching band (it was optional before but I went anyway because Allentown was my old stomping grounds and I went with my grandmother and we had a blast)
How could someone "thumbs down" this? Great young adults doing great things!! Also, the siren must have been a former jock who still hates the band... HAHA
Tents, they truly are!! It's ridiculous. I was on the percussion staff in 1982, '83 (when we did the Mass) and '84. Can't tell you how disappointed I am in this whole show....well....except for the percussion writing. That's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! How Blue Stars got high achievement in percussion the other day is beyond me!
Sir Underbridge...if you want to see marching and playing at the simultaneously at it's Drum Corps historical best, check out the last two minutes of The Cadets show in 2000!! IMO, the best 2 minutes of marching and playing in the history of the activity!! Watch....listen....and repeat!!!
anyone else lose Thier s#!t at 5:35? also if they could get on condemning that witch faster I wouldn't mind.... such a Good. Show. thank you Boston. this is dark done competitively. #bostonstrong
All historical figures in Salem...Bridget Bishop was the first hanged for witchcraft June 10, 1692. Rebecca Nurse, Sarah Good, Elizabeth Howe, Susanna Martin, and Sarah Wildes were hanged on July 19, 1692.
@Annette 4 President Their timpanist was injured loading the truck and went home to heel...They did get a replacement...but I'm not sure when he/she will be in the show...
Gosh dang... I'm simply fussy and getting old... I just get bothered by audience people who act like they are the most ever experienced corps listeners ever, from ears cupped, to head bobbing that isn't even on beat... Though, am always grateful for all marching arts supporters...
Corps is a lot better and they are definitely playing to their strengths but the show loses me about 4 minutes in. Not a lot of contrast in the flow of the show.
What is there to understand? It's dark and creepy! Witches...pentagrams...deaths by hanging...not all confessions confess the truth...punishment should fit the crime...human communities are vulnerable to hysteria...that about covers it...haha
I really wish I enjoyed this show more. it's so pretty. But I don't think "Pretty" is what the show is supposed to be coming across as. Still at the same time, something keeps bringing me back to watch it. ... Maybe it's just Anna.
