Hey CJ Off Road i purchased this dual port BOV from you guys, i got it today and installed it in 30min pretty easy, nice quality, good looks, it sounds good but honestly i thought it was gonna be louder since you can hear it pretty good in the video but i was kinda disappointed sound wise, after i put the plastic cover back on it was not loud and after i closed the hood you can barely hear it, so overall if you have 260$ that you dont mind wasting then give it a try and buy it but dont expect this amazing sound like you hear it on the video, thank you!
I am from Sri Lanka. I bought this one and got it air freighted through UPS . I received it last evening and the total cost was US$ 343. Quite pricey, but i guess it does give a little more turbo boost and longer turbo life. that is all...But if you are looking for that "hissing" sound too (like on a SUBARU WRX) .... ...then it is practically 'non existent' once the engine cover and hood is closed. A 'mild' hissing sound is there when the hood is opened and with the engine cover off ...(please note the above video also demonstrates the sound with the cover and hood open). overall i hope at least the performance is enhanced somewhat as related by this CJ-OFF road technician/specialist Matt. For an aggressive and sporty sound, install the FLOWMASTER OUTLAW AXEL BACK twin pipe exhaust. I did ...IT sounds and performs as described .. A truly great product for the JL .
Put one on my 2019 JLUR, and the Turbosmart BOV is stuck open after only like 300 miles of mild driving. Thankfully I held onto the stock one. The Turbosmart BOV is going back.
Disappointed. I ordered the Turboblast blow off valve. Installed it long story short valve didn’t work plus got a check engine light. Item has been returned for full refund
Chonch if they kept on the same exhaust they last installed on their 2.0L, then it’s the Borla S-Type Axle Back. Tbh I think you get more tone out of a muffler delete pipe or full cat back, but you do you. 😁
No generally quality BOV's like this one are usually either adjustable or permanently set for your specific engine. They only let off a certain amount of the extra pressure to protect the the turbo. But they don't completly depressurize the charge pipe so the turbo can spool back up quicker. The point of a BOV isn't to get that "wooosh" sound but rather its insuarance on your turbo for when you slap your throttle body closed and the extra pressure in the charge pipe has no where to go but back to the turbo which is what gives you turbo flutter or as we all know it the "sutututuuu" sound. It's actually really bad for your turbo specifically the bearings, compressor shaft and the actual fins themselves on the compressor wheel. BOV's eliminate that worry.
Yea man I’ll try and get a video uploaded for you ! I was super pumped to get it. I drove two hours to go pick it up and get it installed and it sounds exactly the same as stock. I’m not sure if you can hear it so well in the video because the hood is popped and the Jeep is in a enclosed garage but I sure wish I had my $280 back
Shane Wise would appreciate it dude, make sure it says “dual port” on the outside of it too. This is the second report of someone saying you can barely hear it...
Now, this is cool but, look at the people who've had problems and engine lights come on In the comments! Honestly, want a loud swoosh sound. A good cold air intake will do it since all the resonators off the turbo will be removed and have a big cone. Did it on my Buick Regal GS 13 and fucker swooshed with a slight flutter.
I love the channel but this video is very misleading. Why didn’t you record the after part with the engine cover on? I have this product and it’s trash if your sole purpose is the sound. It very quiet and with the cover on and the hood closed it’s embarrassing. It doesn’t sound NOTHING like this on the video. Nice marketing anyways 😂
