Thanks for the video, I did my wife's '21 R-Line yesterday. It would be so much easier if they just made the bolts a little longer and the cams lock in a little better.

@@florida0507 yes I had to remove and cut the plastic on both the passenger and drivers sides. The kit has measurements included in the instructions where to cut

@Dwight Lewis sorry I don't remember the specs. I sold the vehicle a couple of years back. They were bought from the TSW website and I believe they were called Turbina.

Thank you for the video! I installed them on my 2023 yesterday. I would like to suggest to the community to WIRE BRUSH THE BLUE LOCKTITE BEFORE INSTALLATION! it will make your life easy! I didnt do it but if I had to do it again I would clean the bolts and add new locktite in liquid form. That way the nuts will screw in all the way by hand. I had to hold the bolts against the frame with a small flat head (sacrificed). The cutting part was super easy. Line uk the boards and shave off 3 inches going in. How long did it take you to finish the install? My dealer wanted to charge me 1400$ labor 😤

I am glad I was able to help out. I think it would have maybe taken me 1 1/2 - 2 hours, but with making this video it took me a couple long hours lol.

Not bad. One thing I found out is to make sure the bracket is as far out from the vehicle centerline as possible. I followed the directions where it says to have the little studs centered in the big holes in the brackets but then the plastic was a pita to get in there. I ended up using some quick clamps configured to spread and used some ridges on the underbody to push the bracket as far as possible to the outside and then tightened it all up.

Not that I am aware of, and that is the only real way that you can mount them.

Hey pal how are you? Question my Atlas came with running boards and I want to put on my winter tires with rims on this weekend. Now that we have the running boards will a normal hydraulic Jack fit to Jack it or do we need an adapter piece? Hope you can shade some light. Ps those Rims are sick !!

Hi there, I just had this running boards installed at VW dealership but have an issue with clearance, front part of the board noticeably lower then back about 3/4 inch difference. Does anyone know how to adjust it?, Dealer acting like nothing could be done, but I don’t buy the idea that it was designed this way. Will be greatly appreciate any advice

I have a few questions: 1. Year/Make/Model/(4-Motion-YES/NO) 2. Are they OEM or aftermarket? 3. What does the front and rear gap of the boards measure? 4. Is it the driver and passenger side or just one side? 5. Can you send pictures to my email (macsdiy1@gmail.com)? Side/top/ bottom view.

I'm no pro at fixing car up but wanted to cut back on costs and install myself becasue dealer said 500 to do it. Is this install fairly easy to figure out on own? @MAC'S DIY

It doesn't take much to install it. Just a little time and patience especially if you don't have a lift. As long as you have all the minimum tools that required then you should be good. The only really difficult part for me was that I didn't have a lift and it took me a bit longer to install it. Why do they have four bolt holes yet only utilize two of them? Seems like you should put all four in.

I believe those are extra bolts. Just like any other thing that you assemble it always has spare hardware left over.

Yes, they do at first, and once they are all screwed in hand tight, then you can make your adjustments and then tighten them down.

I didn't use one because I was able to squeeze under the vehicle. Now if I would of had one then I would have used it because it would have made the installation a lot faster. Again not a must if you can get under the vehicle.

My running boards have a wider end and a narrower end. Which end goes towards the front of the vehicle?

If you bought the OEM ones then it shouldn't matter. If they got a newer version of the OEM boards then I couldn't tell. My guess would be the wider end to the rear and the narrower end to the front. Your best bet would be to check on a forum if they are aftermarket. I hope this helps.

I'm currently trying to remove these same running boards and having a hard time. I can get the protective plate off but the bolts that hold the bracket to the frame of the car I can't get off. Once the nuts loosen a little, they just spin. There is no way to access the top of the bolt to keep it from spinning. Anyone have any ideas?

There should be a way to take off that lower plastic piece to access the nuts above the bolts. If you can't get to those then they will just continue to spin. Hope this helps, let me know when you get it.

@@MACSDIY the main brackets that hold the running board up is what spins. In your video, it's the bolts attached to that black plastic piece that insert into the holes in the frame of the car and then tighten the nut. In my case, once the nut loosens, the whole bolt just spins.

@@MACSDIY Did you ever figure this out? I tried to remove and the first bolt started spinning after loosing it a bit. No way to access on top of it. Seems the bolt head goes into a slot to keep from spinning but hard to keep from pushing it up while loosening.
