If your Ford Explorer remote key fob has a dead or bad battery or is otherwise broken, the DIC will display NO KEY DETECTED when you attempt to start it.
To start a Ford Explorer with a dead or bad remote key fob:
1. Place the smart key remote fob in the backup slot located in the center console.
2. Start your Ford Explorer as your normally would.
