2018 Audi Q7 vs VW Atlas: Flying Business Class or Economy?

Hey guys they are not built on the same platform the audi is built on Audi’s MLB platform and the atlas is built on the MQB platform so they are very different. Sorry I had to criticize but she is a great addition to Tfl cars

Hey guys, there is a mistake. They don't share the same platform, Audi Q7 is based on MLB platform, used in vehicles like Audi A4 or even Porsche Cayenne. By the other side, VW Atlas is based on MQB platform which is used in vehicles like VW Golf, Tiguan or Audi A3.

It is actually refreshing to have someone new on the show , and I must admit she is very natural and knows her stuff without looking like she is trying or forcing it. well done .

Q7 is not on the MQB platform. It's MLB 2 platform

WTF Roman? The Audi Q7 is on the MLB 2 platform, shared with the next Cayenne, Lamborghini Uris, VE Touareg, and the current Bentley Bentayga. It is a TOTALLY different platform than the MQB that underpins the Atlas/Teramont/Škoda Kodiaq, the least of which is that it’s not a transverse [engine] matrix! Love you guys but this distinction changes the entire premise of the review! And yah, usually lie flat international long haul business-class *is* in fact the distinction between arriving somewhere well rested and therefore productive, vs. someone stressing in agonizing jet lag for 48 hours.

Sarah,she can fit in the third row seat,which would make her the only team member that can pull that off.I could tell she was a little uncomfortable working with Roman,so she must be normal.Good luck Sarah.Of course i liked Charlotte too.

Sarah's a natural, hire her. She delivered her lines well and will get better with time. The fact that she's tall will help point out which car interiors may be an issue for taller car buyers. "That's what's up!"

They actually do not use the same platform, the Audi is on the MLBevo Platform (Bentayga, Cayenne, Urus) but the VW is the MQB platform which is more suited for Transervely mounted, Front Engine Front wheel drive cars (Golf, Polo, Jetta, Arteon, Tiguan) I like the video but wanted to make that clear so please don't think that these 2 cars are the same

I wholeheartedly agree, Sarah! I love my SQ7 and i'm sorry to say, the tech and the comfort is worth the extra pounds (I live in the UK).

She's smarter, knows more about the vehicles she's testing, and a lot less annoying than Roman. The fact she's not bad to look at is just a bonus.

OMG I just found this video as I sit here in my hotel while traveling for work and also renting - you guessed it - an Audi Q7! I’ve been bragging to my coworker for the last two days about how much I love this SUV. I’d pay the extra 20K. Also, Sarah is a keeper. 👍🏻

This is one of those VERY rare moments when I get off my Xbox to post a needed comment on RU-vid. I would love to watch Sarah giving the beans with The Fast Lane team. She's entertaining and love cars. Plus sometimes it's nice to compare the views from someone young and.... not so young. If you can keep Sarah then it's a must.

Sarah is a keeper. She can teach you how to work on your project vehicles, so you can get more bang for your buck!

Took my 2014 Audi Q5 TDI for the NY State inspection today. First inspection since the diesel recall modification. Did the inspection at the same Audi dealer where the modification was done. IT DID NOT PASS INSPECTION. Something about monitors having a "not ready" state. Sorry to get off topic.

I love the look of the Atlas. I've always like VWs though since my first 1957 Bug.

Thing is, with Sarah you know when she is talking about technical details she is at least somewhat familiar with the material. You can watch her other channel for validation. She has credibility, along with all her other assets that she brings to the table.

Sarah did a good job but I couldn’t help but think she was biased towards the Audi. She had some positive comments about the Atlas but I think choosing the Audi with AWD vs the VW with AWD and saving money seems like a no brainer. especially given the better seating in the VW.

How can there be dislikes? Sarah will definitely more than fill the void that Emme Hall left. The only drawback is that there won't be as many sexual innuendos as on her RU-vid channel!

Roman has no charm, chemistry or personality. She's great, I'm sure she's will do very well. Have Roman behind the scenes and add her to the rest of the team. Roman might be intelligent, interesting and a personable in real life but he doesn't come across like that on the camera.

Another thing that the Q7 will do that the Atlas won't is tow 7700 lbs. The Atlas is only up to 5000. That seems to be a limiting factor in SUV's. Why can't vehicles like the Atlas, or Explorer, or similar, tow more than 5000, such as 7500-7700? Really helps when wanting to have a boat, or small airstream, or enclosed trailer. 2500 lbs may not sound like much, but when you have to upgrade to something like an Expedition, or get a truck, it really becomes an important factor. Curious why the Atlas can't tow the same as the Q7, when they're supposed to be the same platform and very close in power. Not to mention the Atlas is more focused on the American market, who like to have more stuff, aka tow things. Just doesn't make sense. But keep up the good work, love your videos.

I do like the atlas. Definitely the nicest vw suv they make currently. I got the one with 4 motion. Must have in this area.

Thanks for the review, in my case I bought the Atlas SE 3.6 top medium level on VW website , at the time we were looking for 7 SUV passengers there were only 4 options if I remember Honda Pilot (horrible), Acura MD (Nice but 3 row tight), and over 65K Audi and Mercedes. We are happy and i don't have get in a 65+K only 49K.

The Audi is not turbo charged. It is supercharged. They left the T to not confuse buyers. Don't ask me why....
