Contortionists with skill with apparatus. It's win win, if you're a Rhythmic Gymnastics fan. I remember when it was a new Olympic medal sport, these chicks couldn't dribble the ball. It was funny, because people would key in on that flaw and act like these girls were like 'pretend' athletes. The Russians knew this was a great way to express their sports machine, right from the start. I've seen clips on how they train these R Gymnasts at a young age and scout for talent. This idea of a contortionist with tremendous skill is a great thing to promote. Most people think of contortionists as like circus performers or adult film actresses. It's one of the great Olympic sports. So much skill involved. I go back and forth when I try to figure out which is more demanding - Rhythmic or Artistic Gymnastics. Pretty sure Liukin coulda done both.
