I have no issue with Ford freestyle petrol, the roof can hold additional 50kgs of weight hence your luggage issue is not bothersome. If you are a family of 4,It is the best car. I had a test ride and its way better than any other 1.2 litre engine. I did it with i20, Baleno. Nothing impressed me except freestyle.. It simply loves to be revved and delivers power when you need.
Unlike Cheap ELITE i20, ford freestyle is the value for money car with its segment first features like auto dimming IRVM,auto wipers, floating touch screen, ESP, TRACTION CONTROL, HILL ASSIST, ARP, EBD,footwell ambient lighting, driver side vanity mirror on the sun shade, glove box light. Unlike cheap Elite i20 which doesn't offer any of the features I mentioned above, ford freestyle is the way to go.
Seriously feature loaded ! This is gonna be a real success and only thing is could have offered cruise control and projector headlights then it would have been a deal breaker for this price !and would have definitely killed the Swift , Baleno and Polo even i20 active to some extent. Probably facelift should have diamond cut wheels, projector lights and cruise control on titanium+
Yes, it's a feature packed car. It's fuel economy is also much higher than elite I20. I own a 1.5 Lt diesel titanium safety pack.( Previous Generation). But drl and projector head lamps would have made it a better looking car.
Ford India please address the rear seat issues like lack of rear head rest;rear door pockets and lack of 60:40 rear seat split even in top trim...otherwise its a champion car in its segment already
To say the least.. its an awesome car. I bought the diesel titanium variant. Its a delight for an enthusiast, loaded with so many wonderful features like hill hold assist and ARP.. I don’t agree about the inside space and cheap interior looks.. space is better than many cars in this segment. Only downside I would say is the hard diesel clutch, which is a pain to drive in bumper to bumper traffic. Rest everything is just amazing. Truly for the free spirited.
Aftab Wani below 1000 kms it gave 12 in city after crossing 1k it has increased to 14. On highway around 16-17 as of now. This will settle after 5000 kms.
Performance car with safety ensured....superb fun to drive....booked ruby red titanium petrol....nice video....ford is a way to go guys...i have elite i20 as well... Freestyle is simply a value for money compared to elite i20
I own Titanium + petrol and it's quite a wrong notion that Freestyle lacks space. It has ample space and 3 persons can seat comfortably... Music quality is superb. The AC is superb and cools instantly and one can run AC in all 3 modes simultaneously, the AC is so powerful that there is no need for rear AC. It doesn't feel it has 3 cylinders, the refinement is top notch. Only thing is that the interior quality could have been better but the amount of security features it provides along with top class infotainment, the interior is not a deal breaker. Far better than Maruti Tin Cans. And did I mention that steering feedback is awesome unlike the lifeless ones of Hyundai's..
I am looking this car just because of ESP because I think it's most important active safety feature. I need the car to travel on open high way. I am not confirm with that quality and functionality of ESP in Freestyle because this ESP system is not made by Bosch. Please tell me that is the ESP really working great? what you feel if wet talk about only ESP and leave all other things one side.
M planning to buy titanium+ diesel..is there any cons in terms of ease of driving or refinements in diesel version?? Baleno petrol or freestyle diesel??? My preferences r comfort, smooth ride n sporty handling & refinement of engine with some sort of fun to drive character
+NISHANT SHRIVASTAVA The Baleno will offer superior cabin space and refinement. If you will have tall passengers with you get the Baleno. If it's mainly just you driving, Freestyle.
Ford freestyle or Ford Aspire . Please reply ... Freestyle titanium petrol cost Rs. 658000 and the cost of Aspire trend + is 639000 . And freestyle trend + cost Rs. 613000 and freestyle now comes with rear adjustable headrest ... Which would be the most value for money pick over there please reply ...
+Pramit Roy Both the cars are indeed good cars to buy and have their own forte. However, Ford Freestyle Titanium will be the better choice. Also, Freestyle's 190mm of ground clearance is adequate for both on and off-road conditions. It practically absorbs the undulations better than the Figo/Aspire with improved damping. Do take a test drive in order to judge your driving comfort.
+Kalyan Gautham Honda’s petrol motors are known for their refinement, and this one isn’t a whole lot different. It feels familiarly silent at idle and makes a likeable noise as you start wringing it. Don’t bother doing that too often, because the Jazz doesn’t really take well to being driven enthusiastically. Typical of i-VTEC engines, you need to go heavy on the accelerator if you want to make quick progress from a dead halt. Once the engine is in its mid-range, it feels reasonably peppy. That said, don’t expect to dart in and out of gaps in traffic in this one. This engine likes it when you take things slow.
My monthly running is 500 km and I love this car ..which engine should I go bcs petrol is lazy ..should I go for diesel..I am planning to buy titanium..pls reply..this is my first car via CSD
The new Ford Freestyle has improved a lot from the video. It has rear adjustable headrests and passenger side hand rails. It's the best car in this segment. I feel proud to see my Freestyle and very happy with my choice. The best feature which I feel in traction control and heel slide assistance. And they are auto sensing when you ride on heels or narrow curvy village road. Definitely the best car in India and best buy. Far better than baleno,i20,swift,wrv,brv,i20 active & etios liva.
+Anwesh Pradhan Agreed! How about writing a review about it and share your experience so that it will help others in their car buying journey. Click on the link to write a review: bit.ly/1VYhVGp
+Anup Chandran As of now, there is no upgrade available from the brand's side, however, it is most likely to get an update by early 2020. Stay tuned for further updates.
+karthik Vijayan You've made a wise decision. Hyundai Elite i20 Asta (O) - Safety, looks and everything else you want. It gets a total of six airbags (more than even the Maruti Baleno and Honda Jazz), LED DRLs and projector headlamps. There is no substitute for safety and, it also gets more goodies that add to the premium quotient of the car.
CarDekho Thanks! Just was tempted that Freestyle has more driveability and in other reviews saw Elite i20's braking is not that good. Anyways, as you told safety is Paramount more than anything else. I think, I have made a good decision only.
+Aman Srivastava No, it has similar space in the cabin as Figo has. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right.
+Komali Gorityala If we understand you correctly, you wish to know about Ford Figo facelift. The refreshed Figo is expected to be launched here in the coming months. You can go ahead with Freestyle as the Figo has started to show its age. The Freestyle, on the other hand, is not only practical but also adds more zeal to the package. Factors that help its case are the raised ground clearance, the punchy new petrol engine, the slick-shifting gearbox and the amount of safety tech that is on offer. The diesel engine, on the other hand, continues to be as capable and potent as before. The only downside of the Freestyle is the lack of an automatic option at a time when every other carmaker is offering AMTs and CVTs.
Tata tiago XZ or Ford freestyle Trend petrol variant? Am fixed with these two, but confused which one to select. Am worried about the mileage in Freestyle? Does anyone know how much exactly it gives in city?
+Multi WooD Tata Tiago XZ strikes the right chord between comfort and safety and is our recommended variant. It gets steering-mounted controls, driver seat height adjustment, auto-down on driver side window, cooled glovebox, alloy wheels, chrome garnish on front fog lamps and ORVM with LED turn indicator and boot lamp for added convenience. On the inside, you get body-coloured air vents (only with Sunburst Orange and Berry Red exterior shades), chrome finish on air vents and LED fuel & temperature gauge. It’s loaded up to the brim in the safety department as well and gets dual front airbags, ABS with EBD & corner stability control, front fog lamps, seatbelt with pretensioners & load limiters, rear defogger and rear smart wiper with wash. On the other hand, the Trend variant of the Freestyle gets all the important features that we expect from a sub-Rs 10 lakh hatchback. However, the additional goodies on offer do not justify the premium of Rs 90,000 over the base variant, especially when you consider that you can get most of these add-ons retrofitted at a much lower cost. Additionally, Freestyle generates 94.68bhp/120Nm whereas Tiago produce the output of 84bhp/114Nm which reflects better performance in comparison. Instead of trend, we would suggest you to go for the next variant in line i.e. Titanium (the value-for-money variant). You can also compare both the cars via our tool. Here's the link: bit.ly/2MApTTC In our fuel efficiency tests it returned a very impressive 19.19kmpl on the highway thanks to the tall gearing but in the city, where you need to make more gear changes to keep the engine in the sweet spot, that figure drops down to 13.5kmpl, which is still a reasonable figure for a petrol engine. Do take a test drive before making a final call.
Same issue with Tigo, I agree tata has done a great job with built quality of new Tiago and Tigor, but the gearbox, the engine is disappointment, too lazy petrol and diesel engine And I found real life mileage to be very low as well for Tiago petrol , just around 13 kmpl whereas freestyle with 96 PS does 13-13.5 despite being larger car and having much more power
+Rail Heals For that, we'd recommend you to take a look at the below article and select the best car per your suitability: - Clash Of Segments: Ford Freestyle vs Maruti Swift - Which Car To Buy?: bit.ly/2H7sdiJ
Has Ford's aftersales service network and quality improved? Is it good so that we can buy the Ford with a peace of mind? Cost of ownership is not a concern but is the quality and reliability good?
+Sameer Solapure A crossover or crossover utility vehicle (CUV) is a vehicle built on a unibody car platform combining in highly variable degrees features of a sport utility vehicle (SUV) like increased ground clearance and a higher seating position with those of a passenger vehicle, especially a hatchback. I planning to buy a car?? From elite i20 magna plus and ford freestyle trend plus, which one should I consider, And my family members are having height above 6 ft, Please do provide suggestions
+Sreejith S.S Here both the cars are of different segments and have their own sets of offerings and features. Ford calls the Freestyle ‘India’s first CUV’ (compact utility vehicle) and stuff like the 190mm ground clearance (10mm lower than the EcoSport!), 30mm wider track, stiffened anti-roll bars and 15-inch alloy wheels make it feel like it can actually take on the rough stuff. It’s a more refined package, at an acceptable incremental cost. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right. You will appreciate in Suspension Tune up of this car which seems an equilibrium balance in between a Hatch and SUV. Good Ground Clearance along with Wider Tyres makes it easy to go. On the other hand, the Elite i20 has stood the test of time and the facelift does just enough to keep the it relevant in a highly competitive segment. The new i20 features a few changes but is essentially still the same car with slightly improved driving dynamics. So if you’re looking for a frugal yet youthful family hatch, the i20 is still a viable option. Moreover, the selection completely depends on one's choice and preference. Do take the test drive of the car so as to get a better understanding for the ease and comfort offered.
in our our country nepal it takes 288% tax + showroom cost ... its ambient variant cost 29 lakh nprs which is eqaul to almost 15 lakh Irps .... our country is soo cursed that we cant even buy motorcycle ...
+Neelam Siddharth nara Certainly! It is a great value of money. How about writing a review for it. Click on the following link to write a review: bit.ly/1VYhVGp
Please don't compare the ford freestyle with Hyundai grand i10 and swift. It's nonsense. Freestyle is other segment vehicle (CUV)with lot of features and also there is no such problem of insufficient space as u said. Only something missing is DRL with projected Head lamb and driver hand rest. I am owning a Ford freestyle titanium diesel car. Insufficient space feeling is only in seeing but when we are inside its enough.
you are absolutely correct on the space. Me my wife and kid sit on both Balleno and Freestyle back to back on the same day in the rear sit. it feat exactly the same when it comes to leg room, and shoulder room is very marginally more in Balleno, Boot is realy big in Balleno but not the cabin space
+Manikanta Kallepali There are available in this price range such as Maruti Dzire, Honda Amaze, Tata Tigor, Ford Freestyle, Ford Aspire, Maruti Baleno etc. Click on the following link to check out more options: bit.ly/2pvNETC You may also apply filters to refine your search and can shortlist some of the options from the lot. Do let us know the hand-picked options so that we can help you to choose one.
+Alok Dand We would suggest you to pick for KUV 100 NXT. With the updates, it is more modern and appealing package than before. Space - Headroom and legroom at the rear are generous.
+Alok Dand Do take a test drive along with your family in order to clear all your doubts. If you've any confusion then feel free to reach us. We'll be glad to answer all your queries. :)
+Sam Matz The Figo would be our pick here. It not only gets features like rear power windows and height-adjustable driver seat but also gets feel-good features like push-button start and auto AC. On the other hand, with Titanium variant of Freestyle you get Roof rails, electronic stability program (ESP), traction control and hill launch assist. The other variant that you can consider is Figo Titanium Blu which is certainly a more attractive package compared to the Freestyle Titanium. It’s more feature-rich and safe for the family too as it gets side and curtain airbags. The Freestyle isn’t too far behind in terms of the value it offers either. If you are traveling less than 50-60km a day, opt for a petrol car instead of a diesel. With the extra Rs 1-1.50 lakh spent on a diesel purchase, you can actually drive a similar petrol car for as many as two years! So, do your math carefully. A diesel usually makes sense if you are driving above 60/70km a day. Moreover, you may take the test drive for both the cars to pick the one that matches your needs and requirements. Thanks a lot for the review. It was to the point... However I need some help...Freestyle or Baleno? Which one is better? Safety and power are more important for me than styling. I have read that Baleno has some issues like build quality and suspension issues even though it look stylish . Meanwhile any face-lift coming up for Baleno?
+Mody Thomas Here, freestyle would be a better pick as Ford is always known to bring cars loaded with a best-in-class safety kit. The Ford Freestyle is no different and scores high on safety with six airbags, ABS with EBD (electronic brakeforce distribution), ESC (electronic stability control) and TCS (traction control system) along with ARP (active rollover prevention). Mature ride quality, the Freestyle practically absorbs the undulations better than the Figo/Aspire with improved damping. Its 190mm of ground clearance is adequate for both on and off road conditions. Freestyle delivers better power performance with both the engines diesel and petrol. Maruti Suzuki is set to launch the Baleno facelift in India by June 2019. The 2019 Baleno facelift will involve only minor cosmetic changes and there will be no changes to the powertrain, claims a source close to the development. @@cardekho Thanks a lot. What a sincere answer to the question asked. Yes I don't need to look any further; just go ahead a buy Freestyle... Thanks again..
I've heard that there is some slack in the steering at center position. What's your take on this ? What does it feel at center head position at high speeds ?
+Dinesh R Yes, there's a bit of slack in the steering at centre. Prominent at low speeds, and noticeable at highway speeds. Not something that made us nervous during the drive, though.
+Dinesh R The Freestyle petrol took just over 13 seconds to complete the 0-100kmph sprint, which is par for the course. Since it’s got an odd number of cylinders, it is quite natural to expect some vibrations. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any, regardless of it missing a balancer shaft that keeps vibrations in check. At city speeds, the new 1.2-litre petrol motor doesn’t require frequent gear changes. It pulls cleanly in higher gears at low speed without any hiccups. During our test drive, we were able to negotiate speed breakers at just under 20kmph, which is a usual scenario in day-to-day driving, even in third gear quite effortlessly. If you need to put a smile on your face you have to work a little bit more. Being a small displacement, naturally aspirated engine, it has to be revved to extract the most out of it. Keep it in its sweet spot and the new engine won’t disappoint. It can also be pretty frugal when driven sedately, delivering 13.5kmpl in the city and 19.19kmpl on the highway. It’s also a very predictable engine and throws up no unpleasant surprises. Power is delivered consistently and in a tractable manner right upto the 7000rpm redline. As it has a ride height of 180mm, Ford has had to stiffen up the suspension setup and the anti-roll bar to ensure it doesn’t sway from side to side due to the relatively higher centre of gravity. The 30mm wider track (the distance between the two wheels mounted on the same axle) at the front and rear help improve stability and offers better cornering as well. The wider track also gives the Freestyle a better stance as the wheels jut out from its wells ever so slightly. The Freestyle’s brakes will do a good job of saving you from yourself. The car took 40.98 metres to go from 100-0kmph, lesser than the Maruti Swift, Maruti Ignis and Hyundai Grand i10.
tigor(xza) or freestyle(titanium +) which one is value for the money, also tel me the rear seating comfort for three elderly person to occupy. and over all build quaity, because it going o be my first car(real time owner suggestion)
+Ganapathy Ramanathan The Tigor XZA gets a host of features like projector headlamps, alloy wheels, dual airbags, rear defogger, seat belt with pretensioners & load limiters, electrical boot unlocking and body coloured air vents on select two exterior shades - Berry Red and Copper Dazzle. You also get two tweeters in addition to the four speakers of the XT.It is a decent buy for someone looking for a car with most of the comfort and convenience features and, of course, the additional safety in the form of airbags. The rear seat feels more comfortable as they stretch from pillar to pillar. The well-cushioned seats and the inclusion of a centre armrest add to the sense of comfort. Headroom at the rear is good though, and the seat is wide enough to seat three reasonably sized adults. Though, the cabin feels noisy though, as there is road noise, engine noise and wind noise seeping into the cabin. A quieter cabin would make the Tigor’s rear seat an even better place to be in, besides reducing tiredness over long distances. The Titanium+ variant gets side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. And while these are features that you can live without, having them will make your driving experience a lot more pleasant. Lest we forget, there’s a total of six airbags for added protection as well. The Freestyle’s cabin space remains identical to the Figo, which means space for the rear passengers is a little tight. We would suggest you to take a test drive along with the family in order to judge rear seat space. Click on the link to compare both the cars: bit.ly/2uOEwfO
Please suggest which one to buy? Beleno, Tiago XZ Petrol, Tiago NRG petrol, freestyle titanium please suggest which one to buy. Use case weekly 2-3 times for 4-5 people, roundtrip 250kms.
+Madhu Kalapala If the roads are not smooth where you'll be driving then we would suggest you to pick for Freestyle as the added ground clearance will help to deal in a better way. Otherwise, you can pick for Baleno Delta.
Thanks for your comment, really great. But small doubt. Roads are not smooth, but we need to have good driving and comfortable and it should be worth buying for amount 7-8L, please let me know. What do you say about tiago any variant? Which vechicle you suggest between 7-8L?
+Madhu Kalapala The three major point to buy Tiago NRG is - higher ground clearance, touchscreen (borrowed from Tigor) and body cladding. There is no alteration is engine but being a 3-cylinder engine the NVH levels will be more in comparison. On the flip side, Freestyle new engine is excellent at both - it has class-leading figures and feels punchy as well. That said, the primary focus of this engine remains superior driveability and not outright performance. Albeit it’s got an odd number of cylinders, it is quite natural to expect some vibrations. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any, regardless of it missing a balancer shaft that keeps vibrations in check. That said, it could produce vibrations under a cold start, but it gets fairly smooth in no time. Considering your requirement, we would suggest you to pick for Freestyle.
I think it's a good car by ford in mid range segment although some drawbacks are concerned in last minute's of video but inspite of that I think it's a good come back by ford in mid range segment it's a good option over swift definitely
+Raghav Parchhanda If you want to buy the Baleno because everyone else is, go ahead. It truly is a well-rounded package. We’re glad ABS and dual airbags are standard no matter what variant you choose. Baleno is a premium hatchback and gets good features. If we talk about fuel efficiency then, Baleno has a upper hand in both petrol and diesel version. On the other hand, Freestyle is ruff & tuff car which delivers better power performance among all these cars. With the 190mm of ground clearance it gets better command on all terrain. It’s a more refined package, at an acceptable incremental cost. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right.
Last week did a test drive of freestyle..felt the doors & back side body are little light weight when compared with i20 & Nexon..did anyone felt the same ?? Also when the doors are closed the sound doesn't feel it's strong..Any one felt the same ?? Or I'm the only one??
+Rahul Mishra The Manual Diesel variant has a mileage of 24.4 kmpl. The Manual Petrol variant has a mileage of 19.0 kmpl. In our fuel efficiency tests petrol returned a very impressive 19.19kmpl on the highway thanks to the tall gearing but in the city, that figure drops down to 13.5kmpl, which is still a reasonable figure for a petrol engine.
I am really confused between swift vxi and freestyle trend.. Which one i should prefer? Is there any problm with the engine and performance compred with swift as it is 3 cylinder
+Ananda Suryan Maruti Suzuki Swift Vxi fulfils most people’s basic needs. This variant is not good enough to make the Swift a thorough modern-day hatchback. To call it that, it should have at least been equipped with features such as push button start/stop, auto climate control, electrically-foldable ORVMs, etc., all of which are available in the next variant - the Swift Z. Verdict - The Swift’s V variant is the one that fulfils the needs of most of the buyers since it ticks all the right boxes. But a jump of Rs 88,000 for the basic amenities over the base variant is a bit on the higher side. If you okay to own a Swift minus electrically adjustable ORVMs, steering controls and height adjustable driver’s seat, we’d recommend you to go for the base variant and get power windows, central locking, keyless entry, and audio system fitted from Maruti Suzuki. These might not cost you over Rs 35,000. Get seat covers as well and you’ll still save some money. Ford Freestyle Trend Variant gets all the important features that we expect from a sub-Rs 10 lakh hatchback. However, the additional goodies on offer do not justify the premium of Rs 90,000 over the base variant, especially when you consider that you can get most of these add-ons retrofitted at a much lower cost. Instead, if you can strecth your budget then pick for Titanium Variant as it is value-for-money variant in our books. Also, the new 3-cylinder motor of Freestyle feels far superior to the older 4-cylinder unit. The new one is excellent as it has class-leading figures and feels punchy as well. That said, the primary focus of this engine remains superior driveability and not outright performance. Since it’s got an odd number of cylinders, it is quite natural to expect some vibrations. Thankfully, it doesn’t have any, regardless of it missing a balancer shaft that keeps vibrations in check. That said, it could produce vibrations under a cold start, but it gets fairly smooth in no time.
Sir, I am from a small town. My home space is less i.e. for garrage as well as budget is tight. Should I go for Ford Freestyle in terms of Service, Maintenance, Bad Road Performance, Mileage,Driving as well Seating Comfort, etc ????? Please CAR DEKHO suggest PERSONALLY, as I really trust your views.
+jb_nirvana Ford calls the Freestyle ‘India’s first CUV’ (compact utility vehicle) and stuff like the 190mm ground clearance (10mm lower than the EcoSport!), 30mm wider track, stiffened anti-roll bars and 15-inch alloy wheels make it feel like it can actually take on the rough stuff. An all-new petrol engine with improved power and mileage, new touchscreen infotainment system and an eye-popping interior theme should make the Freestyle more popular too. +deepanshu pal Maruti Ignis Delta ticks all the basic features & gets some more, and is value for money. It gets wheel covers (still no alloys), turn signal on ORVM (outside rear view mirror), dual-tone dashboard, tachometer, audio with CD and FM, Bluetooth, USB and 2 speakers, steering-mounted control and audio remote control, remote keyless entry, electrically adjustable ORVM, day/night IRVM (inside rearview mirror), rear height adjustable restraint, rear seat 60:40 split, rear power windows and security alarm. The Delta variant is the one that offers value for money. For an additional Rs 61,000 (over Ignis Sigma petrol-manual) you get all the aforementioned features which make it seem a lot like a car with contemporary features and takes proper. The features on this variant will certainly make your life a lot more convenient in the long run. Ford Freestyle Trend Variant feels overpriced. It gets all the important features that we expect from a sub-Rs 10 lakh hatchback. However, the additional goodies on offer do not justify the premium of Rs 90,000 over the base variant, especially when you consider that you can get most of these add-ons retrofitted at a much lower cost. Instead, we would suggest you to stretch your budget & pick for next variant i.e. Titanium Variant which is the value-for-money variant.

+shijin krishnan At city speeds, the new 1.2-litre petrol motor doesn’t require frequent gear changes. It pulls cleanly in higher gears at low speed without any hiccups. During our test drive, we were able to negotiate speed breakers at just under 20kmph, which is a usual scenario in day-to-day driving, even in third gear quite effortlessly. Out on the highway, the Freestyle is capable of hitting triple-digit speeds rapidly. The engine even lets you pull from 40kmph to triple-digit speeds in fifth gear.
Great video as always. Kudos to the simplistic approach of pros & cons. I do have a question, as Freestyle do not come with an auto option, all I was wondering was how hard the clutch really is? In the city traffic would it be stressful? Please compare the clutch hardness to other cars, like say Polo Diesel (which is by far the hardest clutch I ever had to use in India). Thank you.
Not as hard as Polo clutch, but not as light as Hyundai/Maruti/Honda clutch its a mid pack in stress, its not a big issue once 1 gets used to it, just 2000 kms in car is enuf to know how to adjust the clutch
Petrol's clutch is feather light ..however, Diesel clutch is slightly on the heavier side, but the new gearbox is smooth and not rubbery like the old Figo
+sameer dutt The Elite i20 was already a stylish, well-built and feature loaded car. The i20 Active simply offers the same traits in a more butch avatar. It’s still a great city car and offers the easy of use you’d expect of a hatchback, but thanks to the cosmetic changes, it has more road presence too. 1.4-litre U2 CRDi Diesel engine offers great performance and driveability. It is mated to a 6-speed manual and puts out 90PS/220Nm. On the other hand, Ford calls the Freestyle ‘India’s first CUV’ (compact utility vehicle) and stuff like the 190mm ground clearance. Freestyle, It’s a more refined package now, at an acceptable incremental cost. It’s a fantastic all-rounder that manages to combine the basics of space, fun and everyday usability right. The diesel version gets the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre TDCI
+shiva prasad As per your requirements, Freestyle would be a better pick as it has better ride height and good suspenssions too. The top variants of a lot of mass-market cars are generally all about flash. But that’s not the case with the Ford Freestyle. The top Titanium+ variant of this car gets side and curtain airbags, automatic headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, auto dimming IRVM and a 6.5-inch touchscreen infotainment system. And while these are features that you can live without, having them will make your driving experience a lot more pleasant.
Dr K S KRISHNA KUMAR The diesel is what U are asking I guess.. If so, the Ecosport and Freestyle has different tunes and different ECU, gear ratios too are different
I am confused with ford's own Aspire's trend+ & Freestyle's trend Variant .The price difference is approx 40k between these both. Please give a suggestion.
+Bhavesh Gaikwad Both the cars share same power-train. If you require added boot sapce and fun to drive compact sedan, you can go for Aspire. on the other hand, if you often tackles bad road conditions, go for Freestyle.
That's great! The Freestyle Titanium offers a whole bunch of features. In fact, even if you consider the total add-ons you get over the base Ambiente variant for a sum of around Rs 1.3 lakh, the Titanium variant comes across as a great deal. The Freestyle is the only car under Rs 10 lakh to offer Anti-Rollover Prevention system with HLA (Hill Launch Assist), ESP (Electronic Stability Program) and TCS (Traction Control System)
+Tejas Joshi The Ford Aspire is powered by a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder petrol (96PS/120Nm), a 1.5-litre petrol (123PS/150Nm) and a 1.5-litre diesel (100PS/215Nm) engine. While a 5-speed manual is standard with the Aspire, the 1.5-litre petrol is exclusively available with a 6-speed torque converter automatic.

Confused between freestyle titanium and Baleno Alpha Hardly drive 250 KM's per month with family. Which car is vfm In my area both Maruti and ford have good services
+Nikhil Gupta As per your requirements, we would suggest you to pick for Baleno. The Baleno offers the perfect balance of performance, features & quality.
+praveen c Here Freestyle would be a better pick as it has better power, ground clearance, space and nice suspension setup. The diesel version gets the tried-and-tested 1.5-litre TDCI engine that also powers the Figo, Aspire and the EcoSport. The Ford Freestyle gets a new, punchy 1.2-litre petrol engine (96PS/120Nm), which also happens to be the most powerful naturally aspirated engine in its class. Dual-front airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors are offered as standard in the Ford Freestyle. Moreover, we would suggest you to take a test drive in order to clear your all doubts.
Isn't it based to near to be phased out Figo's platform. I think Ford is trying to clear its inventory by souping Figo a bit. But the Trend petrol on road price of 7lakhs is a killer deal. Any comments?
unlike stupid Hyundai , Maruti stupid celerio X and all this car is not just a cosmetic job, its got different suspension, different features, like ARP, different anti roll bars etc, So ford is honest unlike other who cheat Indians with shiny plastics, chrome, flashy drls and shit image
CarDekho thanks! I’m planning to buy a car. I’m confused between Ford Freestyle titanium plus and VW polo highline. (both petrol) which one would you recommend? which car is more fun to drive?
+Venkataramanan Raghavan Freestyle is more fun to drive. It has more power, more torque and the engine is quicker to rev as well. The Polo's 1.0 motor is meant for commuting only. Don't expect any sort of fun out of it.
+Tejas Joshi If you asked us to pick between the diesel and the petrol versions of the outgoing Aspire, we'd make a run for the keys of the diesel. Because, with 100PS of power and 215Nm of torque on tap, the 1.5 TDCi transformed this little sedan into a freight train. It had no business pulling the way it did. That remains the same this time around too. It’s easily amongst the most fun diesel compact sedans in the market, with the torque coming in quickly and staying around for quite some time should you want to flex your right foot a bit more.
0-100 kmph in 13.07s for a 96 HP car is SLOW, I guess its the gearing thats the issue, the car has to be shifted to third at arouns 90 kmph , short shifting can do 0-100 in 12.2-12.5s in Freestyle petrol. Mileage too good for a car thats 189 mm above ground and one thats pushing 96 horses.
chandra sekhar reddy. Chaganti If you want acres of space with better fuel efficiency, go for baleno. However if you are going to do the driving yourself most of the time, can live with a slightly less spacious car, and you can live with a little less fuel efficiency, freestyle is definitely your car.
I have taken test drive of both Baleno petrol automatic and Freestyle Diesel. One thing I can say the handling of the Freestyle is by far superior than that of a Baleno mainly the steering. But as I have not take any test drive of the petrol 3 cylinder Freestyle I cant say much about the noise level in the cabin. You need to try that yourself. Few review were saying in Idle you may feel a bit vibration in the cabin for freestyle but that needed to be verified. saying that Freestyle petrol is lot more peppy/responsive is also said in those review. Font sitting and space felt just the same, in the rare the leg room was exactly the same, shoulder room is marginally more in Baleno. Power of Diesel freestyle is byfar more than that of Baleno The Cabin of Baleno looks more premium, but there is something else here to be consider….. price … at the same price point you will be getting a delta in Baleno and a titanium in Freestyle probably then freestyle wins the race. Real bad thing in Freestyle is the rare head rest not adjustable and very awkward…. If you are 5.5 which my wife is its all right for her but it was not comfortable for either me(6 ft) neither for my kid. Also the Boot of Baleno is significantly bigger If its Diesel I feel Freestyle is a much better choice no comparison at all, If its petrol still there are many good things in both the car and you need to take a test drive for both the car judge and set your own priority
Arnab Pal I ve taken test drive of petrol Freestyle and its amazing, all thats said in reviews are true, its got very refined mid range, very smooth gear shifts, lighter clutch than diesel and good low end torque than Marutis petrol engine, petrol Freestyle is even more value for money than diesel Freestyle if annual running wont cross more than 10,000 kms a year
No brainer... Freestyle. 25bhp more, same mileage as swift, superb acceleration, better noise insulation, better brakes, better security.... List is long
OK . but the resale value of ford car is less compared to swift . I know freestyle is an value for the money but resale value is less . my confusion is in resale value after 5 years
SWIFT OR BALENO SWIFT OR ETIOS LIVA SWIFT OR FREE STYLE SWIFT OR CELERIO MY PARENTS WANT TO BUY SWIFT AM COMPARING WITH ALL OF THIS CARS PLEASE HELP ME WHICH ONE IS BETTER
+BRAZIL NJR If you're looking for a family car then we would suggest you pick between Swift and Baleno. However, Baleno is more equipped with features and more spacious as compared to Swift. Related Read - New Maruti Swift 2018 vs Baleno: Which One To Buy?: bit.ly/2I2Tt2V
