Guys, I test drove the Genesis G80 Sport, Jaguar XF and the BMW 540 and loved the Genesis G80, which I traded for my Porsche Macan recently. One of the best cars offering great value for money in the market today!

OK All you People who commented on this car months ago....what do you think now? The Genesis is making Mercedes and BMW HAVE to step up to the plate! Where you ask? In the Tech Department. Genesis still beats the pants off the Germans with technology, while MB and BMW are scared to do what people want. THAT is why the Genesis is selling so much. They only make enough products to sell for the year, no year end sales just next years models with little left over Inventory, smart! Supply and demand no over stock, to sit around. MB and BMW do hit higher marks in their leather and seating, yet Genesis has all the old Corporate guys from MB and BMW now at the Genesis Steering wheel and it shows. They brought some of the old ideas with them, the foundation of a luxury car, yet at a lower price. As more than one previous MB/BMW owner like myself said, "If you can get over the badge you save a ton of money especially if you buy a new car or lease every 2-3 years and keep up with new safety features and technology.That said IF Genesis keeps going at the pace of adding the latest and greatest in tech and safety, they will beat the germans at their own game. Remember when MB and BMW wouldn't put cup holder in their cars even though Americans begged for it. Germans kept saying that is just how a German car is, yet they finally succumbed to placing cup holder in the weirdest spots changing the location almost every year! Genesis is way ahead of the Germans with the tech tool, yet should take a note from the Germans on REAL Leather surfaces that last and feel divine. I myself have owned many a MB and BMW myself and said, "I would never buy a Hyundai!" Well with the Genesis Badge you feel one notch closer to being a Luxury vehicle of its own and a few steps up from being a "Hyundai" which I had said I would never drive, yet I am now driving my Genesis and actually love it! Tight and fast, while I talk, text and set appointments all via a speaker while having BOTH hands on the steering wheel. Poof. The Twin Turbo V-6 kick in while barely hitting the pedal and you are OFF.......Zoom!

I'm honestly starting to become a Genesis fanboi

I drive a G80 after driving an Audi A6 Bi Turbo and Range Rover. For the money the Genesis is incredible! I'll bank the 30k I saved for some gimmick features of the Benz. Power and performance are there for both. The adaptive cruise control of the G80 is amazing. Genesis is another player from Asia like Lexus and Infiniti keeping the Europeans on their games for over priced 4 cylinder turbos

Driven both, own the G80 sport. The best part is never having to go to the dealer or drop it off at a shop for maintenance for no extra charge.

It's now 2023, the merc has aged so much better

You would have to watch this video twice at least rewind it back to where they got out the car because you would have no idea when they started driving again that they switched cars and it gets confusing when they are talking about the difference in the car without you knowing that they switch cars. Or did they? See very confusing video.

Damn that mercedes is not 30 000$ better than the G80!! I'd get the G80 as a daily and keep the 30k to buy a roadster or something

You guys deserve so many more views than you’re getting. I love your reviews and the real world approach you take rather than the enthusiast approach other reviewers take.

Tough choice, I really like the new G80 Sport. I'm not sold on the Merc. To me it just isn't a proper E550 replacement and it sure as hell doesn't deserve to be called an AMG. If its engine wasn't put together by one person in Affalterbach then it isn't an AMG, period. And for that money, I'd go the extra mile and get the E63 which is a different ball park. So G80 wins if you ask me.
