On this video I go over common issues on 2018 and newer Honda accords 1.5t (some of the issues also apply to the 2.0t). There is also an ac condenser issue which is covered by a warranty extension and shouldn’t be costing anyone money to pay for them to change it. 2018 2019 2020 2021 2022 Honda Accord.

I have a 1.5 Sport 2018 with 170k miles, and mechanically it has been a great vehicle. The computers, progrmas and sensors in the other hand..., uff what a headache. Since week 1 of having it, problem after problem; I took it to the dealership 6 times in the first 4 months I believe. I argued with the south west regional manager about how their update changed my km and miles digital displays, and so much more. Head gasket failures seem to be caused by the same issue that plagued small displacement EcoBoost engines. The distance between the cylinders compounded by the cooling port in the middle of it leaves very little head gasket material between the cylinders leading to blowouts.

@homdamobilemechanic thank you so much for all this candid information. I have been a Honda/Acura owner for almost 20 years and love the way the cars handled and the low cost of maintenance. With the new turbo engines and them not being naturally aspirated I have purchased my first Toyota Camry and I will not be returning to Honda until they go back to using naturally aspirated engines. I did look at the 1.5T but is high on its insurance premium for what it is, and i am glad i went for the 3 cylinder 1.0T engine (im sure you guys dont get that powertrain in the US) instead that sounds like a mini-V6 and its a hoot to drive and has never missed a beat.

You should be worried about the 1.0T in the civic as it's a non Honda engine. Almost all 1.0T in Germany have or will have a failure due to timing belt running in oil (like ford ecoboosts 1.0T) which will clog the oil sieve and the engine will experience hot spots. Most of the time the turbo is failing and cylinder 2 too.

So right now I’m having the same issue. I was sitting in a drive-through and all of a sudden all my lights popped up. I checked my radiator and it was empty. Once I refilled it the next day, I took it to get a diagnostic, and it said that I needed a tuneup and cylinder to. Got all that changed. My lights were off, but it still was not holding coolant. So I took it to Honda and they said a blown head gasket. But it hasn’t shown any symptoms of a blown head gasket. No milky oil, it’s not running hot, and no white smoke coming out of my exhaust. To fix it is a $3000 job. I really do not know what to do right now. Do I fix it, should I try to trade it in because it’s having so many issues, I’m just so lost. What is causing the steaming of the windows and mirror is the plastic that the dashboard is made of is gassing off fumes and it sticks to the glass! Plastic is made out of petroleum products, and when you park the car in the sun and it gets really hot inside with all the windows rolled up it causes it to release gasses that acts like super glue when you heat it. Watch the detectives when they are looking for things like fingerprints or other evidence and they heat the super glue causing a film to cover everything that is near it! That is the same thing that the plastic pieces in your car is doing when it gets hot inside! A real pain in the ass to remove it! 😉

@BCautosolutions
@BCautosolutions Год назад
What about them? None of those are common. Haven’t done any alternators, battery replacement will be required in every car, mpg is strictly driving habits, rear brakes are maintence, calipers aren’t seizing. I’ve done maybe 2 water pumps on them.

I don't know about all these issues, I'm at 49k atm, and I haven't had these issues yet, but it seems like it's mainly the sports model that many have issues with. I didn't get the sport model and I've driven to a lot places cross country and haven't had any issues yet. But, I also think it's location of where you live, how you maintain the car, and how you drive the car. But, once I hit 50k I'll see if I have those issues mentioned.
