Yes. The LED taillights do not have enough power to runt themselves AND the converter box. The power wire must be ran to get function from your trailer lights.
The video is incorrect do not tap into the white and brown wire in the driver side tail light wiring harness for running light power. It’s a white and grey wire that will power your running lights the white and brown is for reverse lights. Thank you U-Haul for the hours of agony.
