Hope Aga can back this up with a strong performance in the next round too. I've forgotten the last time she did that. She's my favorite player on the WTA tour but lately I've forgotten that she's still playing.
Radwanska earned that win. She never gave up. She may not have the power like the other players but she has talent skills and a never give up attitude. Both players are great athletes.
Everytime Halep looses her composure and self confidence. Coach Cahill is really sympathetic and compassionate and caring and believes she can win a GS. I don't know how he does it. !!! Congratulations to Aga!!!
it´s time that Aga also wins matches. on the whole ist wasn´t an agressive game... i somehow feel that Simona has let win Aga... it wasn´t the game of Simona. I like both players but with Aga i had no hope... she just does not play as well as she did some time ago. Nevertheless, i would be very happy if Aga often wins games.
Being tired is no excuse. Simona is not playing more tennis than other top players. She needs to change her game. Simona had the initiative in many of the rallies and ended up hitting the decisive shot into the net. She needs to study that carefully with her coaches and work out why that is happening and how to remedy it. She has the physical skills she just needs to think more about her game strategy. Unless she is prepared to use the slice more she is going to have difficulty against any player who hits the ball hard and/or keeps it low.
Halep's a basket case. It's what she does. So frustrating to support her because the ability is there; the strategy and mental application, more often than not, is absent...
@@jacekkuchalski9283 Unfortunately not now. I'm so sad that she finished her career. She is my idol and now playing tennis doesn't make me happy as earlier. 😕😞 Pozdrawiam Pana Jacka z Polski👋
@@marcelina3187 I am (was) not Radwańska fan. I don't like that kind of tennis. No power at all, defence, defence and defence. From time to time - the shot of the month (nearly always in lost game), I call them "prats". Dziękuje za pozdrowienia i również wszystkiego dobrego.
i noticed something, when Andrei Pavel is with her, she plays one of her best tennis (she started working with him at Beijing, making the final. then it was Shenzhen, which was won, and then AO, in which she proved she has mental toughness, and then Doha where she played very good tennis, too bad she was injured there. but when she is with Cahill, she barely wins the matches
Saw that too! Also, before Pavel, she never played aggressive! She should keep only Pavel, fire the other in her team (her twitter account or social media communications are cringe worthy!!) and get some professional help.-
Victor Lupas IMO she needs to stop competing in doubles so often and focus on her singles run. She had a tight match with Begu a day before and the extra effort isn't really worth it in my book.
I know lol, I’m sure she was nervous but gotta hand it to her, she served it out and the serve was deep in the box and actually had some good kick on it which was smart against short Halep.
A big win for Radwanska but Halep was miles below her best, her attitude is again letting her down. It's her attitude holding her back from winning a slam right now, getting too emotional even when ahead it sets. Sevastova another that needs to change. Svitolina use to be the same but she doesn't let it effect her like it use to. As for Radwanska a good result but Azarenka will likely power her off the court, her serve is so slow it's unreal
I believe that Halep was very generous with Radwanska in giving her the game. He never felt aggressiveness anywhere. I think the number is hurting her, because she does not specify the points well in each game and she feels as if she is trying hard to make them, something is failing in her that does not allow her to play with ease. 🤦🏻♂️👎🏻
At some time Agnieszka was waay ahead of Simone but Simone has become great (and greater than Aga) and Agnieszka stayed where she was.. Halep had more hunger and ambitions to succeed I guess. Halep done much to progres, Aga for me very little.
This match was really bad... Poor Simo, but it was a very poor her game too. It was not her day (god 44 "mistakes") Where are you Simo? On clay already?
Second set halep tries to play safer and radwanska thats what aga likes. The more rally happen, aga can pull her tricks more often. Halep also makes s lot of mistakes
It's interesting how eager Halep was to shorten tgw points and therefore missing too much. She normally doesn't play that way. I think she was tired. And Naomi too
I'm a fan of both and I'm glad Aga won, hope she rise up her rankings and Simona got rested well before the clay season. Simona needs to win these matches in the early rounds in straight sets and needs to add more variety and be smart, Simona is kind of low IQ player I guess when it comes to constructing points.
What an awful match from Halep. Her shots got loopy and tentative from the 2nd set onward completely abandoned the aggressive play that got her to the AO final
dont forget simona have enkle problem last match she was injured ..only she dont cry about it like you all aga the flower great ...simona jus wow...but kerber will win
I actually feel the same way!!! He coached Agassi who was so respectful and emotionally vested. Simona is a time bomb waiting to explode or implode! If he coached Aga that would make much more sense.
Federer era pe sase sau pe sapte si toata lumea il considera cel mai bun! Intelegi care-i treaba?!
This is gonna sound really weird, but there's something about Halep's grunt that irritates the hell out of me. It may be the length or the pitch, or the fact that she does it so selectively. The weird part is I'm not really bothered by the high-pitched grunts from Venus, Sharapova, and Azarenka (I do hate Muguruza's, however.)
Yeah, rooting for Halep is getting tougher and tougher. And she seems to be grunting louder and enjoying the results less. She's tennis's slightly undersized and lovable Energizer bunny but she's getting to be like Phil Mickelson once was in golf: the best player never to have won a major. He eventually broke through big-time, but I wonder if Halep's game will ever be major-win worthy.
Ce se intampla Simo? ??????Ultimul meci unde erai tu era cu Kerber. De atunci zici ca esti alta. Foarte slab! . Ceva se intampla. Nu se poate ca un nr 1 sa piarda total fata de jucatoare pe ultimele locuri din 100.
Simona has no killing weapon and the placement on the court is just awful, she needs to hit the ball and waste more energy than other top players to win a point. I don’t think she can win a GS.
Tactical genius from Aga. You shouldn’t be surprised y’all, she leads the head to head with Simona. Aga is one of the few players to have multiple game plans in the same match and the ability to actually use her tennis IQ. 😜
Hear is right, Alex!! Cue the Azarenka ear plugs! She sounds so bizarre and it’s an extended, almost delayed grunt which makes it even worse. The worst possible matchup is Vika vs Sharapova! Aghhhhhhhh
That was a great match by both players. Good to see Aga find her form and get back on the right track hopefully. Of course it is a painful defeat for Halep to swallow but I guess it is the price to pay when you always need to win in 3 sets over and over again in every rounds since AO. Obviously, Halep looks slower and struggles in the third and Aga is one of those good at keeping her opponents running. It is just stunning while most of top seeds of WTA crash out way too soon. It is quite fair to say that today's top players do lack the consistency. And we need some real stars to shine here.
Radw, is not so bad as the raking says now, but IMO is not as good as people use to talk about her No B plan, just wait on errors, just putting the ball in the court, with some good points when pushed at limit. Too much fluidity on WTA (Mugu, Keys, Pliskova, Wozniacki, Garcia,. Pkitova, Saharapova, Halep... ), Always talking about aggressive playing, but you have to be consistency as well. I think Aga will upgrade ranking, but I guess not to the top ten again. I think that one of the next number one could be Svitolina, and see how develop Osaka, Kasatkina, Dodin and some other younger players.
Halep has no mental toughness, whatsoever! I, mean, it's not like Radwanska is the last person you would expect to beat her. But, in an era that doesn't consists of as many great talents as during the time of the William sisters prime years, and players like Sharapova and Azarenka are no longer in top form, what could possibly prevent Halep from becoming GS champion? She should've already won more that one GS (and accumulated several other significant titles), as far as I'm concerned.
