I don't not like this car but love the reviewer. He got into great detail without losing my interest. Showed the shortcomings and gave his opinion at the end. Well done
Great for folks with a short commute to work. With federal (and possibly state) incentives this car is priced similarly to the Countryman S except with this it is faster (some reviewers clocked it faster than the JCW), more fuel efficient, and with a short commute you can save on gas or drive entirely on electric. I don't find this to be direct competitor to the volt b/c this has a much more traditional crossover shape with a more useable square opening. It's more fun to drive than a Prius Prime and is perfect for someone that likes the eccentric design language of a mini.
really like it and want one but I don’t see the incentive! Better for the environment… maybe? You get less total range (under 300mi vs over 400 in a regular Mini) and at that price you’ll never save enough fuel to recoup your investment! Don’t forget that It requires Premium fuel! It could be great if the battery capacity was about 4 times larger!
Interestingly in another review of this car they did the braking test in 126 feet which is kind of what you expected, I think your test car may have been less than optimal.
You know you can get all the EV range info, battery level, gas range and the like displayed right in front of you on the info strip at the bottom of the tach right? :) Evidently not.
12 mile electric range. But yes, that’s bad. The Volt is a smaller car. But it has 53 miles of EV range or a total range of 420 miles. The Countryman Plugin Hybrid is only 270 miles. Not a compelling car.
Nice review but Disappointed. In the market for a hybrid and didn't want an ugly Prius. Really wanted to like this but I really don't see why this was even made. Most Americans commute over 20 miles to work one way. My commute is even further. 14-15 miles on electric? Do better Mini. Would have bought this but can't justify it. Might as well get a regular one but I'm trying to save money through buying less gas. I guess a Prius it will have to be.
